We join forces with J.C., the Minin' Hawaiian, and new miner Nick to search for gold on the South Yuba. It is Springtime in the Northern California Motherlode. The weather is warm enough to ditch the sweatshirts. Emerald green pastures are highlighted with blooms of golden poppies. Mother Yuba is running strong and high. It's about time to get the 2024 mining season underway. We exercise our rights to mine on public land. Someone gets first gold. Someone else gets the biggest gold. Someone else gets the most gold. A tragedy is narrowly averted and a new miner gets edumucated with respect to the customary intricacies prospector's etiquette. Many smoke offerings are made and It's another fine day on the Yuba.
