Thank you so much for posting this and her black swan PDD, it's great to see so much of Yuhui in one go....I had to pause the football match for 30 minutes to watch....and I'll probably watch it again at full time. I hope Yuhui becomes a Royal Ballet principal one day
She was - and still is - a fabulous dancer and actress. Her demeanour as a spurned foreign Princess in Swan Lake is priceless.... We in London have been so lucky.
Really hate the camerawork. Why are they putting a close up of her feet and her pointe shoes when they should be getting a whole body shot instead? So irritating when people who don't know much about ballet are the videographers because they don't know how to appreciate or shoot a scene correctly. Other than that, Yuhui does an amazing job...as always, she outshines her male costar. :)
I speak as i find,this is pure Beauty & Excellence,from costumes,sets,stage lighting & yes to the all round Outstanding camera skills that went along way to ehancing the pleasure of viewing.If this Gal is good enough to take the lead role with the K.N.Ballet then she is good enough to take the lead role with the London based Royal ballet or even perhaps the U.Ks. Birmingham Royal Ballet.Thanks indeed for posting,it sure is Appreciated.....
Love Yuhui and, living in western US, am dependent on YT and (when we had it) RB's ballet cinema series to see anything at all of Yuhui. Thanks for posting, even though I'm writing 7 years after you posted it! Is the whole ballet available anywhere? Also, one thing no one has mentioned is the excellence of the corps. If this is typical of the unison with which they move, they are up there with RB's. Does KNB do La Bayadere? I would love to see them do Kingdom of the Shades. Also, thank you for including the variation, coda, and apotheosis to Act !!!
I've seen other productions where they do the same thing - make Odette's tutu longer to emphasize her purity and modesty and make odile's super short since she's racy and manipulative.
