It feels like he's experimenting less, and succeeding more. There is a greater sense of purpose in these songs that in previous albums, and for that reason they are more accessible, and have a greater initial impact. Yung Lean had a lot of fans coming in to this album, but I suspect he's about to have a lot more. At the same time, it still feels like he's still being true to himself as an artist. This should be his most successful album to date, pleasing his day one fans as well as a potentially larger audience. Congratulations on such a successful manifestation of your talents, Lean!!!
Thanks a lot for the compliments! I'm putting a full review together tonight, and I'll post it tomorrow on my channel. I've been a Yung Lean fan since the first time I heard Kyoto, and its been amazing to see him evolve, and I've enjoyed every step of the evolution. What are some of your favorite Yung Lean songs? I love Diamonds, Agony, Ginseng Strip, Red Bottom Sky, Gatorade, Hunting My Own Skin, Highway Patrol, Crystal City, Trashy, Hoover and Silver Arrows among others.
@@SeanGrantstormpinball Mine are, Princess Daisy, Leanworld, Solarflare, Lightsaber, Roses, Nekobasu, Ice cold smoke, Don't go, Muddy sea, Blinded... I could go on and on
Bruh Bladee is a bit better, and I love Lean but Bladee... pffff. Anyways, they are the TOP and ThaiBoyGoon comes 3rd. I find Ecco2K overrated, he's not bad but not that good.
@@spoonssoup6739 first off he is pretty influential but 'of our lifetime'' is a hilarious stretch. Separating the art from the artist or are you one yourself hmm?
[Intro: Yung Lean] It's at certain times of nowhere (Mhm) In some time, you will understand Seen those eyes, talking to myself (Mhm) You will never end You never end [Verse: Yung Lean] Tell you how it goes back I want to show you that Wish I just could go back When we would sleep in grass Wish you never met me I can't sleep at night Remember you last summer I thought it would never end You will never end You will never end You never end [Chorus: Yung Lean, Ariel Pink & Both] Glimmering shadows, night I walk with the stars, with the stars, yeah She walks on solid ground But tonight, with the stars, in the stars, yeah She walks by, she walks by But she dances with the stars, with the stars, yeah Sometimes I have no insight You think you know who you are, who you are, yeah Glimmering shadows, night I walk with the stars, with the stars, yeah She walks on solid ground But tonight, with the stars, with the stars, yeah She walks by, she walks by But she dances with the stars Sometimes I have no insight You think you know, think you know who you are, who you are, yeah You think you know who you are, who you are, yeah I walk with the stars, with the stars, yeah I walk with the stars, with the stars, yeah I walk with the stars, with the stars, yeah [Outro: Yung Lean] You will never end You will never end You never end
I love this song, it has the power to immediately takes me to a certain time of my life, really nostalgic memories. It means a lot to me. I listened to this song like dozens of times with one of my best friends throughout all summer of 2020. We were partying and drinking almost every night with a group of friends in our hometown, a small country town in France. We were playing ukulele and singing around a campfire in the fields next to the city, walking and laughing drunk in the streets at night, climbing on our city's roofs and watch the lights, smoking joints, doing urbex… We were really depressed at this time for lots of reasons, but we felt a little better when we were together. It was incredible moments. At the end of the night, we both went home to sleep at his place. We were always looking at the stars above us and listening to this song with his JBL portable speaker, totally stoned and tired. Still listen to this music with emotions coming back to my mind. I cherish these memories with all my heart

@@bayusantoso7558 thats yung lean's birth name, his parents had no idea what yung lean meant other than it being an abbreviated version of his first name
I so wanted and saw this track getting a music video. I'm not great at describing such sceneries but I imagined the video with Lean swimming on a wooden boat through some kind of city channel at night with not many people around. Green and flowery coasts on both sides. Fireflies float around. Lean is wearing one of his goofy colorful yellow outfits matching the fireflies and the stars above him in the night sky. He looks into the night sky and thinks about her. You will never end...
I dont remember a time when I wasnt hurt. It never ends, its constant dragging always in the edge of the frame. I feel like I'm so unreatable and I can't communicate anymore with anyone. I'm hollow and alien. I feel like this music is my only safe place right now
i remember the day i decide to randonaught with this song. it started sprinkling. the air smelt wonderful. it was beautiful. i really felt like i was meant to be there. i love u.
I adore this song and dream of making my own music video for it. It means a lot to me because of my father's death and I dedicate it to all those who left us for the stars. Its main message is that the people who left us are happy there and they want us to be happy. I see the beginning as Lean sits in a pickup truck in front of the tombstone. That was his girlfriend who died. He brought her flowers and tells her that true love never ends. He later recalls the events with her and introduces the girl next to him so explicitly that she appears in the clip at 2:02. She holds his hand and they start dancing next to the grave, twirling around, footage is shown of Lean dancing alone at 2:16, showing the audience that he is actually alone. The camera then flies behind the tombstone and we are shown Ariel Pink, who was next to it. He talks to Lean and at 2:42 they change to the characters of The Lion King. Lean is Simba and the other dude is the monkey. At 2:52 they run into the jungle and come to a puddle where Lean sees Mufasa's reflection at 3:03. And then they just run through the jungle and at the end they come to a chasm and look at the moon with stars. This cartoon reference is important to me and we see several stories in the clip: the loss of a beloved girl and a father. In the end we realize that they just went for a walk with the stars. I literally consider it my mission to make a music video for this song, maybe I'll do it with the help of neural networks. Thank you Lean, I cry hysterically every time I imagine this music video. All the parts of the song that you addressed are the most dynamic changes in the song.. it’s most beautiful parts that he immortalized in the very scene that you described. I wish that one day you will turn your sadness and emotion towards your father's loss into a beautiful emotion, as a memory of his influence and legacy.. And I want you to succeed in finalizing the video you envisioned and let it be your legacy to your father.. 💔
Wow i have a serious soft spot for lean, and respect his creativity its impressive, and i absolutely love ariel pink hes a auditorily feast, that bit at 2;30 beautiful.
