It's funny how much difference production makes. Like it's not hard to have two camera angles and some decent audio but so many recorded performances still forgo any decent sence of production value. Really well sung, cool video!

Very good tempo, should even be faster. Breathing too much..

Why should it be faster? Interpretation? Taste? Mozart wrote nothing about that in the script, as far as I know. I'm not critisizing you. Just curious!
@gerlindemayer9645

@@erikcouvret it is a very good tempo but it could be even faster. Why not? Just try it. Mozart is not too romantic. O know that there are many versions of this Canzonetta in a very slow tempo, yes, can be, of course. It is how you feel, just try different versions. For example, Harnoncourt did. the ouverture of Figaro in a very slow tempo, whereas Fritz Busch did it quite fast which fits the music much better. One of my teachers was assistent of the famous Karl Böhm in Salzburg who was known for his slow tempi, maybe that is why he chose to play and conduct Mozart a lot faster than Böhm. How would Mozart have played the canzonetta?

@@gerlindemayer9645 okay, thanks for responding! For me it would depend on the creativity of the singer and the mise-en-scene. If the singer is a good actor he can "stretch" the seduction, which is something else than romance. Does the setting allow to share the fun with the audience? Things like that allow a slower tempo. But if you see Don Giovanni as an impatient nobleman who knows he is going to score anyway, I would indeed sing it faster 😉

@@erikcouvret can be. Mozart is not too intellectual I would say, actually all good music is spontaneous like Mozart. So, if one just sings the canzonetta it will be quite right.Don Giovanni obviously playing the Mandoline himself will play and sing it very normal as if he was speaking to her. That’s is the tempo..the accompaniment has just ornamental function.
