The first upgrades I made to my brand new yz250 this year. Some of things are common sense and some of these are just plain personal preference. Let me know in the comments if you guys would do anything differently or start with something else!

Nice bike man! I have a 22 YZ250 on the way right now. Parts I have so far | FMF Gnarly expansion chamber and FMF Powercore 2 silencer. AXP skid plate, Apex cylinder head with both XC and SX domes. Billet rad guards & more on the way

That’s awesome man! Sounds like you’ll have a killer bike setup in the near the future. Smart on the radiator guards too.

Do the triple clamps have 2 different bar mounting holes like the 4 strokes do?

Great question! They do not, but I do believe you are able to flip the bar mounts.

I got a partout on a 2012 yz250 if u need some extra stuff most of it was powder coated a nice blue or black

@@motofilms289 Awesome, I'll keep that in mind! I did just bust my throttle housing but already got the oem part lol. And yeah, from Murrysville area. In between Greensburg and Monroeville if you're familiar with those areas.

Great questions man. 100% track with some occasional trail riding. All stock which I believe is 14/50 on the sprockets

What 2 stroke oil and gas do you use?

Yamalube 2R @ 40:1

Doesn't really matter what kind you're using as long as its 2 stroke mix intended for dirtbikes. Just make sure you have the correct ratio for your machine and don't mix different oils. It gunks up the carb!

Oh... and 93 Octane pump fuel is what I use. Zero additives

How do you line up the throttle housing on the new bars ? Is there a hole in the bars you line up ?

Hole in the bars? I just slide that sucker on and leave a tiny gap between the throttle tube and bars so it never sticks. You do have to rotate forward or back on the throttle housing dependent on where your front brake master cylinder is.

@@colinchilds on street bikes you have a hole in the handlebars so you can line up the throttle housing so it's in the same position no matter what position you handlebars are in , it seems like on this dirt bike you can have it in a wide range of positions , so if you have it all the way forward you will hit full throttle easier than if you have it all the way back , I want to change the bars on this bike but I want to keep the stock position of the throttle housing but I guess you just eyeball it lol 🤔
