while Riot do a good job retconing some lore to make characters more compelling and fit the world better (like twisted fate's story change) they sometimes just ruin what was previously a good story for no reason, like Zac, Orianna and Varus.. to name the 3 biggest offenders.

@@juliankanzuki2013 to be honest, I believe that Orianna's current lore is pretty (is she human or is she robot?) and the Varus change was good because before he was just some archer who got angry at the noxians and just put on some corrupted pants. Their current lore ties them to the darkin and whatnot

Old Oriana's story was a story about her father's grief, his daughter died and he couldn't let go so he made a robot of her with all her memories, but it's souless and lacks context, when asked about how she felt about the memory of her own death her reply was "happy, I like memories". New oriana is basically jsut rehashing Viktor's story, of augmenting yourself further and further and wheres the line at when you stop being human. We allready had that with Viktor. Varus is the biggest offender, Old Varus lost everything, his wife, his kid, his home his village, everything. his line "beware a man with nothing to lose" sums him up perfectly, and let him find the Darkin bow and fused with it in a symbiosis where both him and teh darkin worked in unison, a different take to Aatrox (the Darkin who consumed his host) and Rhaast (the Darkin fighting for control) we had Varus (the Darkin who works with his host) but now Varus is just the same as Rhaast, fighting for control. Riot literally reconned him just to make a song and dance (literally) about how they had a gay character, but then didn't touch him ever again, his lines don't even make sense, he still says "beware a man with nothing to lose" but current story varus has everything to lose.

Thanks for pointing out the voice lines. I haven't gotten around to playing him yet (mostly waiting to get the pool party skin as a shard) but I'm glad to know the good Zac story is still reflected in the voice lines.

If spexial weapon zac was kind of a what if scenario of his current lore thennit would be a lot better

Yep, TBSkyen's description was on-point: "Goofy playful himbo that just wants to make friends and make people happy". He has much in common with Sett as a personality (just without some of the "running a Noxian fighting pit with an iron fist" darker undertones), which may be why they retconned Zac so we don't have two goofy chads that can (and will) break your skull but secretly love their parents and just wanna fight people and fuck people (because you can't convince me these two aren't at least bi).

I'm not sure if I've read all the lore but I'm pretty sure that's because he still is a nice dude, he sometimes helps people or repairs things around zaun, it's only when bad things happen and the people living in the city start feeling lots of anger, zac feeds off of their emotions and they become his own and he can have an outburst of violence, but afterwards he goes back to normal

Riot team be like: "There's nothing wrong about his story and that's just wrong, y'know?"

Yeah, Gwen seemed cool as an outsider (Never played, just found this channel by recommendation), until you get to her design. I was hoping for a doll character to look like a doll. Imagine same base, but replace her skin with like porcelain, and add cracks to it, kinda like Haunted Doll Ashe (Overwatch 2 skin)

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure yordles are creatures made from magic, and zac is a creature made from chemtech magic so it's possible he could be some sort of yordle hybrid thing

And then they go and say that they were trying to make the ruination event "lIgHt HaRtD " so they made everyone dump for no reason. Actally now that i think about it zacs lore retcone was porb a spoilor on how riot are going to screw there lores and charecters . I dont even want to think about what they will do to the watchers and void arcs 😣😑😒😖

IDK about that. Despite his general uppbeat nature and pro-Zaun attitude, Ekko is a deeply tragic character. So much of who he is as a person is tied up in how he uses his Z Drive to rewind time over and over again. He's motivated by regret, agonizing over every time he wasn't fast enough, and rewinds over and over again to make sure he "gets it right" all while knowing in his heart that no matter how many times he turns back the clock there are just some things he cannot change.

How many many more character need to be retconned in order to show how bad zaun is. We warwick, mundo, and singed, 3 of the most fucked up backstory character in league all from zaun. i can gather all i need to know about zaun from those 3.
