Nobody can relate to this song as much as someone who has lost their mom. My mom’s been gone almost 3 years now. The hardest parts are trying to talk to my kids when they talk about her. They were too young to lose their MawMaw. And now we’re expecting another one in August, a little girl. She’s going to have my mom’s middle name. And I’ll be a wreck because she won’t be there for this one. Don’t know you and you have no idea who I am, but I love ya bro.

I’ve listened to this song so many times, but this is the first time I teared up during it. I think seeing this bring up memories for you brought up memories of when my dad died. He was my best friend and fought heart problems for years struggling to stay alive. The night he passed away I told him he raised my brother and I to be men, that he did his job as a father, and that I’ll make him proud. He died in my shortly after that. I had maybe 5 minutes of mourning before my brother told me it’s time to make calls and to be strong for when our mom got to the hospital. I was a senior in high school when this happened and now 31.

My mom passed from cancer in 2016, she was at home and I watched her take her last breath…my son was also born 10 days after, definitely the hardest 2 weeks of my life. Just ask why not 10 more days so you could have seen him.

Wow this song and your loss hit me so hard my mom and dad left me at 7 with my baby sister with my grandparents they were my mother and father I lost her 2 years ago then 8 months later my little sister passed very quickly from cancer at 39 and crying like a baby with my son by my side waiting for my wife to show up at church and she didn't (I grew up on Martha's vineyard island a fisherman's family) figured she missed boat and told my son don't worry she will be here for the burial or celebration of life.i got call at graveyard my wife passed in her car in driveway (was a brain hemorrhage found out) and had to tell my son at graveyard his mom wasn't going to make it to celebration of life she passed this song brought me back to that moment.life is not fair but all I know is love the ones you are with every day because you never know when there are no more days on this earth with them but they are with us here and waiting for us in heaven when god asks us to join them.hang in there bro we are all in this together.my god keep your mom happy and you will see her when he is ready because I know how disappointed they would be if I tried to show up early same with you

This is a great reaction to this song. I am sorry about your loss and struggling with it all. I lost my grandfather two years ago and he was my father figure. I was actually living in NY when I got the call he didn’t make it from leukemia and a heart operation . I remember being so hard on myself for not being at the hospital. I remember that day like the back of my hand and struggled to let it go. Thanks to this song, I was able to move forward a bit. I lost my mom with out warning at 23 and I'm in my late 40s my oldest son begged me to listen to him. He didn't tell me about his story. Zac is so talented he has a way of writing that you feel and can identify with his lyrics they are so therapeutic ❤❤❤

I’m still fortunate enough to have my mom and aunts and one Grandma still here, but like most of us my mom was the only person in my entire family to be admitted into the hospital during peak COVID and after the first week I remember my Pops breaking down in front of me telling me to prepare for the worst. Thankfully she turned around and had a full recovery. Brother, I have no idea what you must feel and what it is to lose the first woman you’ve ever loved, but your rawness and strength is felt and loved by all of your viewers.

Lost my mom to a rare kidney disease. She'd been on dialysis for over a decade. When they could no longer perform those treatments, it was up to her body to keep her going, which didn't last long. Just a couple more days is all we had. In the hospital, I remember my mother looking at me and asking, am I dying?! That felt like something physically ripped my heart & soul out. Fisch, you Zach and anyone who's lost someone that meant the world to them. You have my deepest condolences. May comfort surround your hearts and only good thoughts enter your minds. Stay safe! I knew what I was getting into clicking on this video, but wow... I also lost my mom to liver failure last November. I was her caretaker up until she went to hospice - she was only there for 4 days. I'm so glad I was able to be there with her as she passed, but it was truly the hardest thing I've ever done and it will never get easier. Such a good song, so hard to listen to.
