At the end on the bat tank the mutant goons were tied and not killed so there a character arc for you. I always try to say to the haters that ''This is not batman anymore and this is not superman yet'' in BvS but they just didn't seem to undrstand that.

I don’t think we really need to degrade one to praise the other. It’s childish. Each franchise has so much to offer. Also, the Snyder Cut has some of the strongest humor a modern film has had in awhile. And I’m certain that overcoming your own demons to become a hero is one of the most heartfelt messages out there, especially right now.

@Micolash Ok..If we are going to "keep it real" then let's keep it 100 and not 50. The theater cut of BVS was the issue..Not divisiveness . WB was reactionary to a problem they caused themselves by having the movie chopped 30 min at the very last min. The biggest complaint about BVS was the editing and flow. The ultimate cut released to being #1 selling blueray for 5 weeks with 4 and 5 star customer ratings. It was a far better movie with no Razzies like the theater cut. WB butchered "4" DCEU movies with massive interference. BVS..WW(3rd act)...SS...JL. Offering movie goers butchered products for their money is far worse than a solid movie that my be divisive . WB tried to interfere with MOS but Nolan protected that movie...WB wanted the Kents to be from Chicago 😑. There were no flops in the DCEU until WB *removed* Snyder's vision from JL. And as illustrated by the success of BVS Ultimate cut and ZS Justicec League, every time Snyder is left alone..or at least cohesively collaborated with while working with WB, he did fine with DCEU movies. Access media..critic etc also had a damaging effect .. The general audience over all liked MOS And BVS..They were nowhere near as divided as the online perception is.
It's not a dick measuring contest. Both were really good, just that both were different. We can give it that. I do love the Flash turning back time better, but honestly I think it's both are in the same level.

That iris sequence is pure beauty in film making not one frame was misplaced, it to me was the culmination of the 4 year wait just that scene alone was enough for me
imo i think that it should be cut but i do love the scene itself, it introduces iris for the flash movie, it can also be a love interest for barry in his solo film

I’m not even a DC Fanboy. But the Snydercut gave me what I wanted. Comic book heroes set in a dark, mature, realistic tone. And then it had quite a lot of Paternal, Masculinist Value about it. We need that energy today.

I actually loved all of the characters even more. Especially Batman. He has shown what he's leadership qualities can be like for me. I've watched this movie maybe 13 times and counting. Hands down Zack Snyders best movie along side BvS, as both being one of my favorite movies of all time.
I only want the snyderverse if Snyder wants it as well. The guy suffered through hell and back to create his vision and it's not fair to him if we're forcing him to do it again.

BvS was a giant pile of shit. This one wasn’t bad but it wasn’t perfect. Not by a long shot. Had major characterization issues that you see in the previous too and some other things as well. It Does tease a sequel well enough
This movie is INSANELY better than Endgame, and as good as Infinity War for me. Great arcs, a great and coherent storyline, amazing soundtrack and several epic moments during the whole movie to remember and revisit, forever. It's powerful, has great villains, its 4 hours pass quickly and it really feels something special, even after a 3rd watch. Zack did it.
All I have to say after watching this amazing movie is.. inspiration. It actually gave me hope for things, I've always been struggling. This movie is not a movie..Far from it. It's a constant reminder, no matter what happens in life..there will always be a group who wants to see you grow and develop the dreams you want to shape.
In my opinion, WW was pretty great in ZSJL, she is a broken character, trying to rediscover herself again after leaving her home, and then losing someone she loves. Steppenwolf uses this to his advantage when fighting her, WW represents love and compassion which was shown throughout the film. This is an older Batman, which has been fighting crime for 20 years, that's one of the reasons why he feels weak especially since he's fighting against hordes of aliens with blasters in their hands. He actually feels and acts like Batman, always 10 steps ahead of anyone, a leader, and always knows the right thing to say
It's almost perfect because it was almost Zack's uncompromised Justice league. For those who don't know the original JL script was rewritten becuase it had to many "scary" ideas deemed to risky by the studio. Risk's are snyder's strong suit when he does deconstruction media and I really hope we get a chance to read that original script one day. Other than that he still says this is very much the movie he wanted to make and I couldn't be happier to have seen it. #Restorethesnyderverse I do also feel BvS Batman was better he seems a but watered down in JL but that Knightmare seen Snyder shot is just amazing for Batman. Hope to see more of that anger come through Bruce's facade more often.
Zack Snyder wanted to make a death in the family/death of robin story before he made BvS explaining what happened that made batman kill but wasn't able to.

ZSJL is probably one of the most superior superhero movies to come out in the last decade. Despite his entire vision not being realized, this trilogy doesn't feel incomplete. After ZSJL, I have enjoyed BVS even more than I did before. Maybe the darker more grim tone in BVS was necessary (and planned) in order to contrast the sense of hope that ZSJL instills. BVS was, after all, a story about hate. Whereas, this movie is all hope and faith. Let's hope they do #RestoreTheSnyderverse

The superhero movie genre is huge now, so when you say it's the best of it's genre, you have to say Zack Snyder is one of the best in his profession in terms of making something his own and having a clear vision on what he is directing. I saw this comment mentioning that when Barry jokes that he’s going to use the power of love to do his part, The Power of Love song is actually used to open Back to the Future and in the en Barry did use the power of love to save the day, thinking about his dad.
Batman was used perfectly in this movie Batman never attacks the main dude generally even in the comics... his job is to guide the heroes on what to do in the battle tats exactly what batman did in the final battle of zsjl 1)plans the attack, destroys the dome, takes care of an entire parademon army with very minimal help, was sure that superman will show up so it's obvious that he calculated even that into account while planning.. never asked for help and always insisted the team to stick to the plan Everyone saying batman was weak is referring to that one scene in the tunnel where batman was distracted while the parademon was attacking him as he was ordering the flash to evacuate civilians... but before that scene, batman took down 2 parademons with his skill Batman always has used his weapons while fighting parademons see Jl war And batman's plan actually worked and was nearly perfect.. that parademon shot flash else the plan worked Batman's whole job was destroying the big cannons and the parademons else flash would have been dead
I really loved Batman in this, after BvS and the mistakes he made he was helbent on redeeming himself throughout this entire movie, and managed to do so in spades by the end of it. He really came off as changed for the better by all of it. Just hope we actually get the chance to see how much eventually tho in a maybe sequel.
This was an absolutely beautiful movie for me, worth the four hours! I kept cheering like a little kid for almost every scene, and I was overall incredibly invested in the movie. Well done, Snyder.

batman was used perfectly in zsjl imo 1) does detective work by finding Arthur by checking the tidal patterns(lex doesn't know the location of Arthur) 2) plans on putting together the team even before the invasion began batman is a guy who plans beforehand 3) he was the guy who gave the right reason to bring superman back... others were neutral in their decision and Arthur was against it 4) builds gauntlets out of alien tech(Alfred built but bruce gave the idea and how to build) 5) works on the flying fox which has a complex software issue even cyborg took time for fixing it wayne scientists couldn't fix it 6) plans the entire final battle 7) plays call of duty with an army of parademons 8) saves the flash(his whole job was to kill off all the parademons having the big cannons.. reason y he doesn't throw his bombs on parademons was to destroy that huge cannons with it)
I agree that batman felt a little underpowered here but I think that was just used to illustrate the Capability of the parademons and darkseid's legion rather than show Batman as weak like in the whedon cut. On that note I do think he does things in the final battle. He rescues Diana he rescues barry from being killed after being knocked out he destroys the dome and of course he orchestrated the entire plan of barry running around and getting to zap victor in as well the others's role in the battle. Just my thoughts nothing else.
Not to mention the sheer number of parademons he single.handedly takes down why ww aqua and cyborg and superman are fighting steppy. He pretty much takes out all of them

Ben was really happy to return for the role during the additional photography(aka the scenes which were shot a few months aka scenes that weren't shot in the 2016 before zack left but was added in recently aka the ending knightmare scene) so i hope he is able to return to the role without struggling. He looks much healthier in the snyder cut's last scene than he did in the whedon cut's reshoots where he looked overweight and just overall down.....I would love to see him return.
i have heard the criticism on Bamtan feeling weak in this movie but to me there's no problem with that, this Batman version is quite old, and he's fighting aliens stronger than him physically, so i don't see this as a bad thing the fact that Batman is not as strong, cuz at the end of the day, he's human, all he has is an armor, a batmobile and an alien gun

@@Killercroc-zv2wy There was some legal issues with the BvS suit because the company that made it weren't given credit or something so when they were filming JL in 2016 they couldn't use it. The Knightmare scene was filmed in 2020 so maybe they cleared up the legal issue
The Iris scene was the best. The music was spot on. A good runner up is when they bring Superman back and Lois looks up after hearing the explosion. It’s not complicated. But it’s powerful because you can see the desperation n Lois’s eyes. Her saying with her eyes please let it be him. And with the history we know between Clark and Lois it’s reach holding moment. It’s good. Just not as power and good as the Iris scene. But a runner up

I feel so good knowing this movie got completed and released. I was all in with Snyder’s vision. BvS UE and ZSJL are two of my favorite films. I truly hope we’ll get to see a Justice League 2 and 3, as well as the cancelled Batfleck movie. It may be a pipe dream, but I’m dreaming it.
The cgi was fantastic and a massive props to the visual effects houses who busted their ass on this film. 2600+ visual effects shots in 9 months is incredible.

This movie will be remembered forever because of the struggle it took to actually get made and seen. This broke so many barriers, nothing else will ever top it. I only watched the first JL movie because I wanted to see what zack put on film, regardless how bad joss effed it up. But I am eternally grateful we were finally given a chance to watch it. I like and love every movie zack has made with these characters and I understand his vision. I know people have a problem with this version of batman but maybe you should just consider this version is from an alternate universe to justify his behavior. That's how I justify it. Besides, this is a version of batman who lost Robin to joker and Harley. Of course he's going to cross the line! Justice League is absolutely my favorite film now! I will always stand behind this movie!

About the whole deconstruct & construct. I've long thought we needed a solid Superman movie after MOS showing the more Reeves-esque character moments like seen in the BVS montage. BUT doing that would have diminished much of Batman's rationale in BVS. Maybe in a alternate universe there's a MOS 2 and a Batman movie before BVS and it all works out but I like it the way it is. It's a shame these movies came out concurrent with the MCU. It put DC in an impossible situation, if they copied the tone it'd be a rip-off, try something different and it's "no, this over here is how we esteemed critics like our superhero movies now" Unfortunately WB exec's listened to those pieces of shit and led us to this fractured state. But without the MCU WB wouldn't have had the motivation for any of this. No WW Aquaman, any of it. We'd just be on the 6th Batman,,,, taking what we're given
As much as I think this version is a massive improvement, same as almost everyone else I spoke to about it, and as much as I think it is good... "I kinda forgot my sole motivation and the only planet that kicked my ass were in the same place and where my slave-relative making up for a huge debt to me was just sent there so I need him to give me that information so we can have a big reveal and some extra exposition dialogues" Darkseid is not a 'great villain'. He's not better than Steppenwolf in this movie, let alone Thanos (Neither of which is a great villain, but they're competent to good ones when talking about their movie versions). Is he intimidating? Probably. Does this movie set him up okay? Yes. Is he a 'great villain' after those scenes? No, that's laughable. Ps. Under the Red Hood doesn't happen in Snyderverse, it's Dick Grayson that died.

It is perfect. I recently rewatched TDK and found a handful of flaws. Then I rewatched ZSJL & literally found no similar flaws. ZSJL is MORE PERFECT than TDK. 💯👍🏽

It just doesn't work with DC characters who are more gritty and realistic in a sense. Both styles can coexist. All of Snyder's DCEU movies were near perfection. Batfleck is the main reason that actually got me interested in Batman. All the others had moral codes and this one was Arkham style and used guns and was used great during both Knightmare scenes. Superman was just used perfectly as well. He was sent to Earth as a baby from a doomed Krypton and landed by the Kent's. Was raised up to do good, but was doubting the humans intentions. It went that way through his life, but during the fight with Zod, he couldn't help but kill him. Zod quoted himself either you die or i do. The Phantom Zone was already closed, so he couldn't send him back through. I just love all his movies and i absolutely hate what WBD did with his films after his first Justice League. They knew for a fact that his universe was way more successful and they wanted to ruin it by putting Gunn and Safran in charge of it, rebooting it into the DCU and turning it into Marvel 2.0.

ROTS has been my favorite movie since it came out. This has been my second since it came out. This will probably never change. Also Batfleck is the best live action imo. The warehouse scene in BvS was immaculate and the shape that he was in in that movie was the closest to what I imagine Batman would look like irl.
Two super cool things that came from the Snyder Cut: almost all of the people who arrogantly said “the Snyder Cut doesn’t exist” and mocked the movement have almost all come around and not only apologized but have acted in an incredibly humble manner about the whole thing. The other thing is how the Snyder Cut fans (with exceptions of course) have embraced all of these people. Whether it was people like Roxy Striar who absolutely swore it didn’t exist, or like OP here who hated Batman V Superman and heaped a lot of frustration onto the SnyderVerse at large, it seems like a lot of Snyder Cut believers all have just embraced them and said “welcome to the fan club! There’s plenty of room for more!”. Both sides have been really hurt through this whole thing and it seems like most of us are keen on reconciliation and redemption which I’m kind of crazy about.
WB caused BVS to underperform by having 30 min of story chopped out a month and a half before release. They also butchered "4" DCEU movies since..including the resent BOP.
I enjoyed this review. I find myself in a similar position to you. I disliked "Man of Steel" & absolutely HATED "BvS" & yet I truly loved the Snyder Cut. "BvS" has not been retroactively been made a good movie by the greatness of the Snyder Cut BUT, like you, I can now at least appreciate the character work of Ben Afleck's Batman in "BvS" & how it pays off in the Snyder Cut. Having an OLDER Batman who is psychologically damaged & emotionally exhausted from years of fighting crime as well as personal tragedy give into darkness somewhat to start maiming & evening killing criminals who re-discovers hope & empathy via his encounter with Superman is something that really works for me. My appreciation of the Snyder Cut actually got me to watch the directors cut of "BvS" which has an additional 30minutes (most of which relate to Superman & Lois) & make the film more watchable (there are still so many problems but Snyder's heroes, Lois, & the senator are all solid characters). I suspect Snyder improved as a director from "BvS" to "Justice League" but I also suspect that part of the reason why "BvS" wasn't very good was because of all the studio mandates for those stupid youtube trailers. #RestoretheSnyderverse
Seems like not only have I seen a story arc for characters in ZSJL, I also saw a story arc in KYD. IMO, quite a lot of Zack's movies are advertised differently, like for BvS, if they actually did listen to Zack, keep a 3 hour cut and advertised as a deconstruction on the DC heroes, like it was supposed to be, it wouldn't have had the backlash it got. But WB seems to be some really incompetent executives who prefer to pad their bottom line rather than tell a story smh.
I'm very glad that you enjoyed this movie, I really didn't like Zack's vision at first. I was another one of those people that wanted a fun superhero movie and not an epic drama. Then I watched the ultimate edition of BVS, I've never seen the theatrical version of BVS and I never want to. In hindsight, everything in BVS makes sense, even the Martha scene. To Bruce "Save Martha" reminds him of his mom, if he let's Martha die, he's becoming what he hates which is why he kills people. Bro The way Hanry plays superman is just-great to me He gives me this godly vibe and “I’m ok” feeling Some people hate the fact that the humans worship him but, I like that about this superman It MAKES SENSE, humans 80-90% of us believe in higher power, so when a man who could seemingly do ANYTHING appeared before them at last they had no other choice but to worship him He was a savior, just like they pictured gods in Religions, he was kind and he saved everyone he could And I love that, I honestly do. I hated the theatrical BVS, but when I saw the ultimate edition, Zack's true version was revealed. Now, it's one of my favorite superhero movies. It's telling how editing is such a crucial part in movie making, and sadly, movie studios are only interested in making money (screenings, toys, merchandise) than artistic integrity. With ZSJL, we see even more of Zack 's true vision, but it was meant as a five story arc, not a trilogy (ahem WB). Keep up the great work. Have faith all, and stay safe. Peace.

I wanted him to contribute way more but his Knightmare scene was fantastic. The speed force scene in this movie was absolutely amazing to the point where it made me emotional. Cyborg was so rightfully redeemed in this movie as well. Whedon treating the entire cast like shit made me unbelievably angry but I did love the fact that I heard Affleck tried to rally the cast to just walk out. Also, I desperately need a Ben Affleck Arkham movie. Great video, brother 🤙🏼

I don't think there's no such thing as a perfect film but I agree with everything you're saying and also the snyder cut is better than the first 2 avengers movies imho.
If you want clarification for the Robin/Batman/Joker story - this was nothing, there is WAY more to it. FIGHT for Justice League 2. Basically: It takes place during the Nightmare timeline. Before their final mission to send Barry into the past, the characters will have a Last Supper together. They will talk about their biggest sins, regrets etc. Batman and Joker will tell the story of Robin's death. Zack has talked about this in an interview.

With the DC universe embracing the multiverse, there is space to allow the SnyderVerse to tell the epic story it started in Zack Snyder's Justice League, while also introducing new plot threads and characters based on DC's comic world. The future of Henry Cavill's Clark Kent, Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke, Jared Leto's Joker, and Harry Lennix's Martian Manhunter can be explored, while also allowing Michael B. Jordan's Val-Zod series and J.J. Abrams' Black Superman movie to exist in their own pocket universes. Ultimately, restoring the SnyderVerse is key to keeping major figures in the DC universe and allowing Zack Snyder's groundbreaking vision for the DC Extended Universe to be fully realized.
After watching the 2017 JL, the DC fans were terribly disappointed to see their childhood superheroes being handled like trash. They believed in the director, and demanded to see the original version. Finally the long fought war came to an end with the release of 2021 Snyder Cut. After seeing the potential of the Snyderverse, they became more excited and high as hell to see the next movie. They demand to see more of it. The movie is epic. And I would like to stand with the DC Fans. #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
No I’m not a cyborg, and no my parents aren’t dead. But this story strikes a chord with me because I was once a really good athlete with a promising future and ever since then I’ve been swallowed by depression and anxiety, and seeing this character go through that, and have to dig himself out of it to become the man he’s meant to be... just wow. It’s so inspiring to me and has probably changed the trajectory of my life
In Man of Steel we see a novice Superman. One who is not certain of his place on Earth. He kills Zod because Zod will not stop until he takes the world from Superman. In Batman V Superman, Superman is rewarded with distain, suspicion, and polarity as Earth grips with this godlike figure. Even through the hatred and vitriol, he chooses Earth once again. Earth had its own arc - they realized by Superman's sacrifice that he was trying to be the best he could be, but in the modern landscape, no one could see him for the good being he was. By the end, Kal-El, Clark Kent, became the Superman we know and love. Justice League: given a second chance, Superman fully realizes his place among his peers and humanity. The League saves the world, and now Superman is finally accepted as the hero he became. I know that people are mixed on this Trilogy, but I found Zack's Superman much more relatable. I do believe Zack managed to bring about a wonderful adaptation of the character, and retained Superman's positivity even through the hatred and difficult scenarios the Man of Steel was placed in. This is the only version of the character that I have been able to connect with, and for that, I will always call Henry Cavill and Zacl Snyder's Superman my Superman.
Batman does so much in the film whaaaa?! He’s the reason they find the other leaguers, he’s the reason they bring Superman back, he takes down the shield around the unity, and he’s protecting Flash from the turrets while he’s building a charge
Well in my opinion all the casts were best in snydercut. Batfleck was awsome he alone killed almost 50% of the para demons in the last fight scene and wonderwoman was also redeemed after 1984.
