I can confirm how cool Zakk is. At one of the Ozzfests, Zakk was at one of the signing/meet Booths. My girlfriend was having back problems, so she was going around in a wheelchair. She was extremely self conscious about it. We were third in line, when she came up to say hi, he hopped over the table and gave her a huge hug from behind. Got a pic and after that, she was in heaven. Kept calling Zakk her other boyfriend and kept mentioning how nice he smelled.
as much as zakk jokes around and avoids questions ( like at the beginning of this vid), i think he is deeply aware of how blessed he is.. so to see someone in a wheelchair.. you know
True to the music. The People's Band, and a genuine human being. We are fortunate for BLS. Thanks Zakk, and can't thank you enough for your music, your unwavering commitment, and for continuing to give us the baddest-assed Rock n' Roll made today!
Yeah, good thing Zakk has a great personality. Cause these guys definitely don't. And does anyone find it weird that Jim is asking about the ins and outs of alcoholism like he forgot that his claims he's a recovering alcoholic. Fake asshole makes me sick.
"If you don't like losing, then you ain't gonna lose." A lot of wisdom in that phrase. It should be written down as one of Zakk Wylde's Ten Commandments.
Back in the day, when we where both young men we would both frequent the same bar. It was a little hole in the wall called The Valencia Room and then later it was changed to Winston's Pub. He would usually come in with his manager but other times he would show up with some of his friends from Hollywood. This was back before Ozzy when he was clean cut or relatively so anyways. Sometimes he would come in with the bassist from the band White Lion and others from various hairbands. It wasn't uncommon on a weekend night for him and who ever was with him to get up on stage when the house band was on a break and just take over. There where restrictions on how load bands could play because of the surrounding businesses but when ever he got up to play the amps would go straight to 11. He always had a strong stage presence. He would command the stage which was in contrast to how he was (at that time anyways) any other time just sitting at the bar having a beer minding his own business. I remember him telling me about landing the gig with Ozzy. It was definitely the launch pad of his career. It's funny the changes we make over the years until we wind up being who we are. Seeing Zach now and comparing him to how I remember him he has certainly gone through some of those changes. But so have I.
Zakk walked into the tiki bar several summers ago as my duo was playing. He went to the back section to have lunch and we contemplated whether to bother him or not. We finally walked back and said hi and the dude could not have been cooler. Super nice. Funny. What a tremendous experience it turned out to be.👍👍
Zakk was at my bar back in 2007. All day. He drank a case of Heineken and was totally cool and funny the whole day. He had me rollin for 7 hours. He also tipped me really good.
Always love Zakk's interviews. He's got old school stories and jokes. His attitude about sobriety has helped me as well. Just having the mind set of "that's it, no more" has helped me rely on myself instead of others. (I have 1 year and 5 months on the wagon now too) Always enjoy video's with Zakk. Thanks Jim and Sam!
Zakk is awesome..love and respect him to bits. I had the pleasure of meeting him back in 06 with B.L.S, we spoke about both Randy's (Rhoads & Castillo), Ozzy and the productions of significance at the time etc and he was as genuine and warm as we see him today, instantly greeting me with a big hug and hand clutch like i was a life long pal rather than just another guy meeting one of his biggest inspirations and influences..and that tone of his voice..priceless experience and my administration for him has stayed rock solid coz examples like this brilliant video/conversation truly show Zakk being exactly the same all these years later, musician, rock star, significant entertainer/celebrity aside, Zakk is a genuinely humble, respectful and positive energy who is our equal and that will always stand out for me..all of these traits and attributes combined make him a true inspiration! Love ya brother Zakk..all the respect in the world from your pal and English brother..Neill.A. God bless Randy and Randy..Amen! SDMF. Perth, Oz.
When people talk of rock stars being "down to earth" they really need to mention Zakk in that conversation more often. This dude has ALWAYS been the same. If you didn't know better, you wouldn't even know you're talking to the great father Zakk!
@@trevorgwelch7412 the fact you said who to those two names, says how very unamerican you are. Your analogy sucked too. I'm about to listen to your shit guitar playing as well.
Got to see Mr. Wylde a couple weeks ago in Dallas. I love Ozzy and he looks great for almost 70 but Zakk took the show to another level. Keep up the great work Mr Wylde and congrats for going clean....I'm on 2 years myself.
Honestly i dont get all the hate on Zakk! He seems like a fun dud that just likes to goof off a lil! He's in a good place right now and people need to chill!
@@miagifodder5599 if you've never heard Zakks name mentioned in the metal community, you're talking about the wrong community mate. Ozzy practically birthed metal with Sabbath and Zakk played with him longer than any other guitarists Ozzy had.
One of the best performances out of a guitarist so far, after seeing(over these past 5 years)**...Van halen, skynyrd, metallica, Petty, shinedown, Godsmack, 5 finger, BB and Rise against
I'm glad someone finally said. Yes, AA and NA works for a lot of people who legitimately need it... However, it's not necessary for everyone. Good on you for telling the truth Zak..
Zakk is still a great guitar wizard and I will always honor him for bringing Ozzy to some kind of stability. No More Tears was the first sober album, yes. But was it the first hopeful album since so much died with Randy Rhodes? I still keep most of Live and Loud among the songs on my phone to this day. They just sound like they're having fun.
Again Zakk is the man h1987 prob likes edm music so its not his cup o tea. Zakk is a funny fing guy who has lived a life most people cant comprehend. I love his humor.
Hard to believe he is the same guy that was ozzys guitar player n da 91 no more tears album... He seems so humble n down to earth and funny.. great interview!!
Zakk is awesome hahaha! Funny dude and great guitar player. Saw him a couple years ago on Generation Axe tour with Vai & company in Vancouver. Awesome show! \m/
Well said brother..you speak for both of us coz im exactly the same man, Zakk is a true inspiration as a person as well as a professional musician bro. Maximum respect to you too mate, Neill.A.
Oh Dude! Zakk KILLED with shredds on the Rockstar Soundtrack. Blood Pollution!!! Just two words, Zakk Wylde, Blood Pollution, guitar solo, can't breathe!!! Okay I can stand again, wait, I'm good. That feels so much better... Yes, that is how everyone should play guitar...
ZAKK IS A GOD AMONG MEN. I was blessed to meet him one day before a show. He had to be the coolest, most genuine most sincere dude I have ever met. And he did smell wonderful for those of you who may be curious. And no, not curious in that way. 🤣🤣🤣
Jennifer Anniston is a big fan of 80's rock and hair metal bands. She wanted to do the movie because it's in her background. Her and Brad had a house in New Orleans. She used to go out and check out all the 80's and 90's cover bands in the area, New Orleans has tons of great cover bands.
I can relate to the whole former drinking shit and liver issue and blood thinners every day thing as well as the compression stockings - must be a guitar player thing as we get older..lol
Zakk !! i listen You alonnnng fucking time ! when you started with Ozzy,i and then when you put to live "BLS" i learn how to jam from you i learn how to be a MAN who standing his ground from \YOU my father left us when i was 8 i livED my life !! i`m from poland and here it is how it is (you know) than you for giving me power to play and live ! YOU ARE THE MAN !!!! greeets from poland (now i`m 34 and i`m doing good) ! AVE Zak WILDE !!!
same. it doesnt matter if its alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or whatever. its as simple as making the decision to quit, and then doing it. for some reason people get angry if you point that out, but its true
I love Zakk I have so much respect for this fine specimen of a man.. He is so fine & talented , but the thing that makes him so awesome is :: family is everything to him &.he has been with the chicken since high school, That's just not in a Rock n Rollers DNA lol ... He's a beast I dig Black Label Society my fav band \m/ GI/FD < sdmf+
Now I wanna see that deleted scene where his character is wearing a beard. I thought I read an article a long time ago where zakk said he simply got tired of shaving
