Zane Robertson: Doping Violation

Distance runner and former Featured Performer guest of The Physical Performance Show Zane Robertson has been banned from all sport for eight years following a positive test for Erythropoietin (EPO) and providing false documentation in his defence.
Zane was tested at the UK’s Great Manchester Run in May 2022. His sample returned a positive result for EPO, which was later confirmed through B-sample testing. An additional charge of Tampering with Doping Control was added when documents submitted by Mr Robertson in his defence were found to be fraudulent.

12:04 Zane is incredibly vulnerable here and opens his heart on the intense pressures of the sport. It's true that sports media and so called "fans" of the sport often forget that there's a human behind the athlete. I really hope that he's able to find the peace and solace that he deserves from this event, and be able come out from the end of that "tunnel" with a renewed vigor on life.

While I can understand the difficoulty of his situation, one has to keep in mind that he is not a victim. He repeatedly took the wrong diction and did not back out. Even when he got the first positive result, he still kept quiet in the hope the second test would show him clean.

@@lean2281 It is not like he has to do exactly this to make his income. He could always have switched, started as a trainer, maybe even start something completely new. But he did not want to.
