Zanzibar to Ethiopia | Ethiopian Airlines 

After reading a lot of comments, I feel like this video ended up getting linked in a forum with a description suggesting they were disrespecting Ethiopia, and then those that read it took upon themselves to post very off comments. It seems the people of Ethiopia take pride in their airline (which they should), and feel this is some sort of personal attack. Ethiopian is an airline that serves the world, and as a member of Star Alliance, they are expected to deliver Star Alliance Gold members a high class standard. This is not what they received. I've read comments saying you shouldn't expect that out of Africa and that they sound spoiled. No. Just because the airport is in Africa does not means the standards should be lower. That's a pretty negative attitude to building a better form of service to an airline that carries passengers throughout the world. Spoiled? Again, no. Kara just got food poisoning from eating local foods. What does that tell you? They try to live the local experience and do not expect a country to have the infrastructure of the U.S. However, you expect a Star Alliance member airline to deliver on the standards it advertises to it's elite members. At the least, that should be a functioning lounge that aides in rest and relaxation. I think this video is too old for anyone to ever read this comment, but if it's ever found, just know this wasn't an attack on Ethiopia or Africa. It was a long day of traveling with an inadequate lounge that did not deliver Star Alliance standards.

Just discovered your vlogs, sorry I'm late to the party, but I have to say that this is the sort of reality I want to see about travelling. Not sugar coated, everything is great, only the best. I want to see the disappointments, the frustrations, the reality that not everything goes as planned and that not everywhere you go is what you thought it would be like.

Bole International Airport reached it's maximum capacity 10 years ago. The current expansion that is under construction is long overdue, but it will temporarily improve your experiences. Long time plan is a new Airport City that will take 100 million people per year.

I'm binge watching all your past videos and I like how transparent you guys are about your income and your experiences. I'm sorry that there are some negative people (person? All the accounts seems like they are the same keyboard troll) in the comments who don't appreciate that each person's experience is a culmination of the things they have gone through and their emotions (and it Kara's experience with food poisoning - health) at the time. I, for one, am glad you guys are documenting and posting and I look forward to replicating some of your adventures!

I loved Portugal , have a great time. Kara stay away from hot and spicey for a few days so your tummy gets better !

Regarding the lounge you guys will be MUCH happier when arriving in IST. Pretty much the greatest business class lounge there - a very good use of (status matched?) star Gold membership!

Ethiopian Airlines is actually the best in Africa and Ethiopia is an interesting and historical country to visit. It's too bad the negative experience at the airport is over shadowing the other truly Authentic experience of the country. Especially, the coffee as its the birth place of coffee and the food. It's too bad you were not able to get into cloud 9 lounge to experience the local food. Ethiopian Airlines is currently working on building an airport city with bigger terminals by the Chinese.

So I know this is old but I find the comments toxic. When at an airport, regardless of which, its guaranteed to be stressful, especially when your senses are overloaded from crowds, lights, smells, and so on. Personally, seeing the real experience, good and bad shows that they're providing quality content and all of their memories which isn't edited like "reality tv". I can't wait to continue watching even more! It is okay for anyone to have a bad day. The toxic people in the comments are only joining in on the band wagon of negativity. Glad Kara and Nate are enjoying their travels!! ^^

I've traveled and lived in Africa for years and the airport in Addis is awful in my experience. Ethiopians are great, but that lounge is awful. The food on Ethiopian Airlines is seriously top notch, though.

The wifi in the Ethiopian airport didn't even work properly when I was there

You don't drink things with ice did you cause most of that stomach sickness stuff comes from the water in strange County's and most people are good about drinking bottled water but then they get something to drink with ice and the ice is made with the local 💧 water 💧
