I have a PTR-91 already but I'm tempted by the new M77. I've always liked AK pattern "DMRs," but with Romanian PSLs going up to $2k and everything else either being basically unobtainable or way too expensive, I think an M77 would be a solid choice. Great video! That M76 looks great 🔥
I have a 2018 Cugir built PSL and just picked up the M77. The M77 does not disappoint. The 308 is a superior round to the 54R and the 8x57JS as well, especially if you live in the Land of the Free where ammo options are plentiful. Don;t get me wrong, the PSL is great for what it does, but not for the current prices. Buy an M77 and don't look back.
I picked up mine today as well. The barrel is chrome lined, which is nice. The handguard doesn't have a heat shield, I guess that's a corner they cut. I'm going with a replacement flash hider from Damage Industries to replace the stock slant cut comp.
Complaints so far have been minimal , hard to remove upper handguards, QC is why I'm waiting it out. Let me know how she shoots. Personally I liked the non chrome lined barrel , you lose a bit of accuracy.
I personally like that look on it, but I understand that. I have the WASR10 from Century Arms with the polymer still on; it would be better with Romanian or Russian wood. Still shoots like another day at the office, that's for certain.
i like the new style better than heavy wood but i definitely wouldn't mind an M76. And the M77 is totally worth 1400., the barrel is innfact chromed... i grabbed one.
I would price the M77 more around $1000 would be reasonable. The chrome lined barrel takes from accuracy. The M76 is a whole different beast milled , longer and 8mm with the M75 ammo is 1.5 moa. I like wood and steel. Not much into the plastics.
Some people prefer the “stamped” receiver and i think prices arent going down any time soon i would buy if i had the money but already own 2 wbps and one ar and a pistol
zastava really needs to work on quality control, mine had alot of flaws, poor incomplete finish, the person that assembled mine tightened the pistol grip soo tight it literally bent the grip plate dont know if it's gonna break so now i have to replace it, they cheaped out and instead of using the high quality hogue foregrip they choose to use some no name brand cheapo plastic one that really fits like crap, i dont mind plastics but this one just feels cheap and barely fits on mine, so basically your getting charged more for less quality components, zastava really needs to work on quality control, almost all of the bolt carriers still look like a kid in his basement used a belt sander to finish it, i get it aks dont have the best fit finish but it causes function issues or durability issues thats just bad, at least mine didn't have mag fitment issues, the cs spec made mag that came with it is top notch quality made in the usa, but when your mags are better fit and finish compared to the rifle itself it's pretty dissapointing, please cs spec make enough mags so it's not always sold out
I still prefer my m76. Built like a tank and hits hard with 8mm not to mention it just looks better with the wood and the longer barrel. Zastava asks too much for their guns. Much more reasonable when century did the importing.
