This is just excellent, great job. So useful. The one bit of feedback I can give is I wouldve liked more emphasis on what stuff to prioritize since its soooo much info!

Happy you liked it and appreciate the advice! I'll try to keep it in mind for my future videos, I know things can get pretty overwhelming.

I have a question-before that though, I want to thank you for this work! Your Zato and Happy Chaos content are exactly what I have been looking for. One thing I noticed from watching your inputs is that it seems like you rarely ever mash for timings, with exception to the j.D from your Layer 1 block string. When I start sandwhich pressure after drunken shade, I find that the c.S after 5p has a super tight timing to plug against throws (it’s not too bad for timing against 2p). I think c.S doesn’t buffer after 5p either. I aspire to practice the muscle memory for calm inputs-any tip on how you got so good at nailing the timing with clean inputs rather than mashing c.S? Also, in the layer 1 string I have been struggling to consistently get air momentum/dash-cancel jump after using invite hell, which sometimes means I land too far away to pressure with 2k. I noticed you used the stick input rather than the dash button for that example - is that something you recommend to nail the timing? Thanks again, I really like your content and how you cover everything in so much detail. You have a good voice!

Thanks for the kind words! When it comes to getting down the c.S after 5P, for me it really just came down to sitting in training mode and practicing it repeatedly. As with everything when it comes down to timing, I find it best to start with a timing that I think is correct, and if it's wrong for example being too early then I'll over adjust by what I would assume to be too late. Then work both ways back and forth being too early and too late but working towards the middle ground to find the right timing. Once I get a feel for it, I just keep at it until it becomes natural. On sequences that require tight timings, I don't think anyone will be completely consistent. But not only will it be a small number of people who would even try to throw in that gap, but if you can even hit them once it'll probably stop them from doing it again. With the dash jump after 22H, it was just the natural way for me to do it. It's kind of random which things feel more natural to do dash with dash macro versus manual dashes, but I don't think there's any overall benefit of doing it manually especially if you tend to use the dash macro for everything. If you're struggling to time the dash after 22H, I recommend just setting the opponent to guard all then do 22H into dash jump and keep at it until you find the right timing. You can also do dash IAD j.S which may be a little more lenient, especially with the spacing, but mess around to see what is best for you. Happy to hear you liked my videos and they've been helpful, let me know if you have any other questions!

I noticed that the layer one string depends mostly on the opp being pushed into the corner in order to run mix. Is there a more consistent way to do the mixup? I noticed you did a flight js after drills for the mix in the other video and I’ve been trying to make that work for about an hour now but to no avail.
@aDTimeGaming
@aDTimeGaming 3 месяца назад
I'd recommend doing the IAD j.S mixup version instead when midscreen so you stay close to them. It'll be a bit difficult to get perfect, but generally they shouldn't be trying to mash here anyways. Hopefully this helps Here's a visual example: streamable.com/l72w7q

In this video I start off going over the layer 1 blockstring, then go over every other possible blockstring and RPS point that I could find. Do you mean you wish the video was more in the same style of how I went over the layer 1 blockstring with slow motion and a deeper explanation?

Question about the stronger drill mixup at 5:50: is the IAD j.S only safe against 6p if you start the mixup really close to your opponent? I can get it to work if I just do 5H > pierce > drill, but if pierce comes out when the opponent is pushed a little farther away (like after doing c.S > 2S > 5H > pierce) the cpu consistently gets a counterhit on me. I would love to know if it's just a matter of timing or if farther spacing makes this an "unsafe" option and that it's better to go for something else if you're too far. Thanks!
@aDTimeGaming
@aDTimeGaming 3 месяца назад
If you're spacing yourself out with c.S 2S 5H then Pierce, yeah you'll likely be too far to make it unmashable. It's still good to test your opponent to see if they would even risk mashing before moving on to other mixups, but if they do mash on it, then dash up c.S into 2D vs 5D vs jump j.D with Pierce for the crossup is the better safe mixup.

You talk way too fast to not have input graphics to assist with visualization, yet .75 video speed is too slow. I get that the inputs are shown to the side within the game capture, but the timing doesn’t match with what you’re talking about and I find myself repeatedly pausing and replaying just digest what you’re saying. The presentation just comes off as being made for well-seasoned, competent players who already comfortably know Zato, rather than newer players seeking a break down on how to view the character. I’m just tired of my Eddie getting beaten up before I can do anything. I want to get better.

I just realized that this is a part 2. I’ve come back after watching Part 1, and I have to say it’s a solid introduction to everything said in this video and really helps digest the given information. It actually would have been great if the breakdown wasn’t segmented. However, I still think you’re talking too fast in this video for the amount of information you’re presenting. You’re talking at the same speed as P1, but the amount of information makes P2 so much more dense, making things seem way too fast. Topic transitions are also very short, making topics bleed into each other. A longer period of breathing time would be well appreciated. I do realize that every adjustment I’ve mentioned would probably up this ~30 min video (I’m counting P1 and P2 as a whole) by another 7-10 minutes, and that YT can be super picky and weird about run time. At the need of the day, I do want to make it clear that I’m grateful for such a thorough breakdown on such an elusive character. My intentions are just to be transparent in how I’ve received this content.

@@Painted_Owl I appreciate the constructive feedback. I do try to make my content to have as little down time as possible after seeing so many guides that waste so much time but I completely understand how it could get jarring or difficult to follow. With guides like this I don't expect people to digest it all at once anyways and like to use these to introduce concepts that they can come back and use like a library of setups to find a particular one they're looking for or want to learn/practice at that time. I have been told that I talk fast and I get that sometimes the explanations don't match up 100% with the timings of what's happening on screen, but it becomes a balancing act of having to play duplicate clips multiple times with a slower talk speed versus keeping the videos concise and to the point. Leaving dead space for a couple seconds between new concepts might help transitions and I'll probably experiment with some options to make it easier to watch/understand. Thanks again for the feedback, I want my videos to be as useful as possible so if they don't help people it's definitely something to fix
