ZD Racing DBX 10 RC Desert Buggy - What's it like on a track? (Absima ADB 1.4)

You don't often see "bashers" like the DBX 10 on a proper track. So I thought I'd give it a spin...
Not the most responsive of cars with those big tyres, but surprisingly good balance if you keep it tidy. And loads of grip!
This is the RTR with 2300Kv and 3s LiPo. Plenty of power around here.
Absima are now selling this in Europe and the UK as the ADB1.4 with a different electronics package.

It sounds like it's broken somehow but that's maybe just an artefact of the sound recording.

do you know what's different, electronics-wise, in the Absima version compared to the ZD Racing? thinking which one to get as there's a decent sale on Aliexpress right now

All electrics are different. Absima motor is higher kv but shorter can.

Wowsers it's as loud as my greaseless KC when it first hit the Mendip track. Helped distract my opposition at least as it thundered past the pits. ;)

Haha yes all steel gears in these so quite noisy. I filtered out the wind noise on the video which seems to have made the buggy sound worse.

Gear mesh too tight that causes loud noise?

No the mesh is good, the metal spur gear makes it noisy. It all rolls freely on the bench. I filtered out the wind noise which maybe makes it sound louder than it is.
