This is a video where I begin to discuss the original Zebulon's Guide to Frontier Space Volume 1, as well as introduce my thoughts on the Action Resolution System.
I do not own the rights to Star Frontiers or Zebulon's Guide, as those are owned by Wizards of the Coast.

The only thing about Zeb's Guide that I didn't love was that it didn't finish what it set out to do... continue with the great, new content! I wanted powered armor. I wanted space rules (and the player related skills that meant that a beginning character could get, and be considered minimally competent with). I preferred these new rules over the original sets, but trying to fuse the gaps between the Alpha Dawn/Knight Hawks rules and Zebulon's guide to Frontier Space was too much of a headache and thus I moved on to other game systems. I'm excited to see that you are attempting to bring more content to this series. I want to play this game again! [Disclaimer: I only refereed one game of Alpha Dawn, but my players preferred fantasy, and sadly I never got to game it since.]

I agree. Enjoying a technical game like this is a matter of personal taste. Many modern players see a table and panic. For those of us who enjoy a technical game, I absolutely recommend doing one's homework, and get prepared for play. For technically minded players, this will be rewarding, if not enjoyable. I ran Rolemaster for over a half dozen players weekly for over a year, and I fully endorse preparation as a valuable aspect of the game. In my case, it was an absolute necessity if I wanted to have more than one combat per session. We typically had three to four, which was as fast as D&D in most cases. So yes, it's worth it to put in the work. You get out what you put in. Love your work, sir. Thank you, and here's to your health!

How does one get a copy of your Zeb's guide vol 2? Asking for a friend.

I have always felt that the % percentile dice system is a restrictive, dead end approach to action resolution that never truly represents a characters skills/abilities usage and is to wildly ranged when determining success rates.

Can you please, for the love of God, make videos of other than your face just talking to the screen? Take some Masterclasses on video production. Your information is great, really good depth. But illustrated with art, maps, pics from Star Frontiers, screenshots, whatever. Just trying to help and keep up the SF love!

I disagree. I like looking at your face. I would like to request you do the next video with your shirt off.
