The pace of car release is mind-boggling and the Chinese don't rest on their laurels, they are actually accelerating! By the perceived quality and rang of car bodies, Zeekr is probably the most interesting Geely brand.
I'm a huge fan of Zeekr, their style and the things they put in their cars, really nice stuff. And you're right, it just doesn't stop here in China, it's never ending product after product, hit after hit. It's hard to keep up.
Since Zeekr X starts from A$60K before on-road costs, I think 7X will start from at least A$65K what is not cheap for an unknown Chinese brand in Australia.
Leagues above Mercedes and BMW! It’s basically a luxury robot that can go off-road. Really impressive. China are the fastest moving technology innovators in the world.
Hey my man what at SUV luxury style unique I love it I think geely take serious the BYD and need hit back to leader border of tops lest talk point is so beautiful SUV I feel be best seller of this category SUV bravo geely best please can you do more test results about energy and range stability sound noise of the road make more long video ok thanks 🙏
I'll do my best mate. Only had this car a day so not easy to do a full detail test but for the ones I get longer with I'll consider how I can do more complete tests of the range and charging and offer what everyone wants.
Previous models of Zeekr were to me a little weird, I didn't like them, but this one is carefully designed all around, nothing is weird, has basically all that is needed. Looks good 👍
LOVE the way all the inside storage has covers, so you can make the appearance clean. Should be compulsory in every luxury car. Great job 7X. Nothing worse than exposed drink holders when not in use
Really keen to buy this when it comes to Australia. Looking at how the 001 is now version 3, I think I'll wait a bit to see what improvements they make for the next version
Great video and very indepth. I'm keen to learn more about their approach to the ownership experience in China. To understand how that might be different from traditional legacy brands
Wow, power sunshades, instrument cluster and some physical controls makes me like this one a lot. It would have been nice to see the 001 Sports seats in this one. The interior space is really nice, rear seats like an ICE car with good thigh support. I like the motor setup on the rear, would have been good if Polestar used this on the Polestar 3 and 4, not sure why a "performance" brand didn't make their RWD car have a higher output motor. The air suspension version reminds me of my Audi etron, good height adjustment for offroad use and it seems like it should go lower for sport mode. This looks like a winner for Zeekr, something that most people are comfortable with, no loss of seating comfort due to raised floor, seems designed around passenger use. Great review. Will they have a track driving session for this vehicle? Would love to see how it performs there. Thanks for another great video.
I'll certainly let you know if they let me loose on a circuit with this one but we'll see. It's a lovely car this. I think they've nailed pretty much every element of it.
@@InsideChinaAuto Seems like a good car overall, with the power ans suspension setup, should be a fun ride when you want to push it a bit. Too bad the seats didn't have better side bolsters. Looking forward to see it in action on a track.
Wow ,Mark you're really kicking them out the park at the moment with Zeekr's new baby , love the area where you're driving around is that the same where you was driving the Avatyr 12 ? Love those tall unusual buildings too Anyway I better not praise you too much, tell them Australia wants to 007 cos I like sedans or maybe the small crossover like the Zeeky X.. Regards John
Hi John. This one was filmed in Guangdong province in the mountains, so not the same area as the AVATR 12 video but they're neighbour provinces pretty much. We'll see if 007 comes. I do know a 007 wagon is coming and that will come to Australia so if if you like those you'll enjoy what's coming I'm sure. Zeekr X is now available in Oz so you can start there if you're super keen. Go try one at a dealer, you'll love it.
I’m in if they arrive in Australia prepared. Xpeng has turned up and three months later still no tow hitch. So they missed the boat with me. I will await to see if Zeekr can get things sorted better.
From what I can see, there are 7 airbags, so should be two front, two curtain bags, a centre airbag, and side airbags for the front two seats. They also use submarine-grade steel on the sides and tested it for a rear end crash with a truck followed by a side impact with a truck immediately after and all the doors could still open. They also have a built in emergency cord under the armrests that can shatter the glass in the event of falling into water. They were very big on safety during the launch video but didn't tell us everything in advance to save some bits.
Moving to China in beginning of 2025 makes this a very strong contender. Based on this review alone it seems to have everything in place. Do you know if this model has Swedish engineering solutions as 007 has (if I recall it correctly)?
@@InsideChinaAuto Let's see the final price that we, Europeans, have to pay for such great vehicles when they are offered over here... 😅😅😅 It must be difficult for you to choose between so many incredible cars one when it's time to buy a new one... May I ask which would the finalists at this moment? 😉
@deltajohnny Personally would love an AVATR 12, wife wants a Li Auto L8, but I'm pretty sure we're going to settle on a Zeekr MIX when it comes out because it's ideal for our family.
@@InsideChinaAuto Great choices!!! 😍😍😍😍 You are really fortunate having so many possibililies to choose from! About the Zeekr MIX, I didn't know about it. I have searched it and.. I'm in LOVE!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 It looks incredible, futuristic and hiper useful 😁😁 I look forward for you to test it in your channel, and I'm sure that it will be a great success 👏👏👏
@@InsideChinaAuto Thank you for your answer. I have already been able to convince myself of the g9 here in Germany. Workmanship etc top, range could be better, like the 7X. I'm curious to see when Zeekr will finally launch in Germany. EQE SUV couldn't convince me.
That battery tech is pretty future proof in most of Australia. It will be ages before the chargers catch up. 2 years ago almost to the day, the WA government was boasting how it was going to spend $43.5 million on a network of 98 fast chargers at 49 sites. Initially the Gov said 50kW chargers but later Tritium said they were going to use their latest 75kW pile and hoped to have the network complete by mid 2024. Given the distances in WA, 75kW is a joke unless you want to spend all day sitting in the desert sun. It was almost as if the Gov thought anything over 7 or 11 kW was a fast charger and Tritium and Jet took the bureaucrats for fools... which maybe they were.
Out of all the cars coming from China this is the one that I am more interested in, love the looks and the new battery power that's becoming available. in a Merc EQC at the moment so i like SUV style vehicles but as already mentioned if / when they come to the UK they will be double the price you popped up on the screen.
Ouch. The EQC is a very compromised car, a car Mercedes converted to be an EV not from the ground up (I know, I worked there when they launched it). This will blow your mind in comparison. They're saying prices will be about 35% higher than in China, but let's say 50%. That would make the flagship dual motor version about £54,000.
Great review and beautiful car. Personal opinion. I personally would prefer it without the Stargate front, looks tacky, just plain black would look so much better, or a black chrome for the more premium models.
Hard to see this not being a success in Australia, the land of SUVs. Personally not a fan of large SUVs but honestly this looks so desirable if I had the coin I could see myself being seduced to the dark side. 😁
Zeekr makes great vehicles no doubt, but because they are not profitable their stock has tanked 50% from a high of $32.24 to $16.00 currently. The big question is when can they start making money on these vehicles?
From what I've heard, Zeekr will be profitable by the end of this year. Chinese stocks are always undervalued though compared to US stocks just because.
A really nice car that I would seriously consider if Zeekr fixes a serious flaw, that most Chinese car manufacturers make when introducing a car in Europe. No 40/20/40 backseat or at least a load through hatch for our ski or fishing rods. I would never buy a car without it. Nio with it's ET5 Touring and EL6 know what Europeans want, but most Chinese manufacturers don't, and that even goes for Zeekr. They say its designed in Sweden, but not many Swedes want such a car without room for their skies, so it is definitely designed for China, not Europe.
Their design team consists of 40 nationalities, so I can only think they've deemed it not necessary. I saw a guy the other day who goes fishing and his rod was able to fold up in his boot. I'm no fishing expert so I don't know if that's a thing or not or if they're not as good.
My ocean rods are quite long 11" so 5.5" need to fit for these rods. Only budget cars in Europe don't at least have a load through hatch here in Europe. They will loose many customers here without. @@InsideChinaAuto
@@StepTronic As I replied to your other comment, I have never taken a penny from any manufacturer other than the travel arrangements that all journalists get on launch events. If you are too brainwashed to believe that China can make a very good or even competent car, I wholeheartedly recommend you have the balls to come to China and see them for yourself to prove your prejudices.
@@InsideChinaAuto yet you never mention any negatives with these cars not even one. No car is perfect. And I live in a country where we do get these Chinese cars. I have also driven them. You can’t be more obvious that they pay you to say only nice things, when you never say anything negative.
@@InsideChinaAuto 229,900 RMB for the base model is great value, too. But all the additional features for just 40,000 RMB more make it hard to resist the top spec version. The base and mid spec versions do not come with air suspension, right?
What do you think of GAC Aion Hyper HT? It's an electric SUV on the same class and price as 7X. It has bigger dimension, longer range, and same 0-100. Which is better?
I sat in a HT at the Chengdu auto show but haven't driven one. I think this is overall a more luxurious, more thoughtful car, with much faster charging tech too. The HT is better than I thought and I really liked how the GT drove so if the HT matches that it'll be a lovely steer, but the air suspension on the 7X should make it a better riding car overall. I'm trying to get a HT to test so let's see.
It's bigger than a G6 and more advanced so I believe yes, it is a better riding car. I haven't driven an X5 or Q5 so can't really say. I suspect a Beemer will be the more engaging car to drive, but this is a better car overall.
In EU they say that Chinese cars will be sold 35% more than the start price. You also have to add custom's price and taxes in each country over the net price ...😢😢
Indeed, I showed the ability in the off-road section of the video. They told us 230mm ground clearance, but since you can't drive it unloaded (you need a driver) maybe it'll only do 230 for real.
So lets recap, Zeekr has a line-up with a 4-door sedan, a 4-door sedan, a 4-door SUV, a 4-door SUV, and now it comes with a . . . . .4-door sedan. Whow, whats next . . . a 4-door SUV? Doesn't it get deadly boring ? ? Everyone braindead or what. Where are the fun 2-door coupés, the 2-door cabrio's, the 3-door hot hatches?
Bit of an odd response. You can accuse Zeekr of many things but being boring isn't really one. If these guys did a sports car though (they have an almost 1000hp car and another similarly powerful one), it would be stunning.
@@InsideChinaAuto Agree, but the visual aspect is in the eye of the beholder. And to me, 4-door saloons/sedans or SUV are basically all the same, a long droplet. They are not designed by a human, but by a windtunnel instigated computer. The cars, before the computers and windtunnels, were designed by humans with imagination, with fantasy. I am starting to hate everything that is similar to the endless line of other 4-door windtunnel monstrosities. Where did it go wrong with people. The family size is going down for decades, and for some reason, their cars have to get bigger, heavier and have more doors . . . .for who? Where are the small 2-doorand 3-door EV's?
