This game was dope back in the day. The GBA remake was a defining game in my childhood. So many hidden secrets and easter eggs. You could play this game for a month straight and still be finding new places. The art style and sprites are so well done. Such a masterpiece in all rights.

That's amazing. The spin attack, a staple to the series, was originated just because they thought swinging your sword in a diagonal direction was weird. 😮

Interestingly, the story of the honest woodsman is referenced more directly in one of the Fairy Fountains in Minish Cap. Just as Hermes asked the woodsman if the golden or silver axe belonged to the man, the Fairy asks Link if he tossed in a Golden or Silver bomb. If Link replies "Neither," he will receive a bomb upgrade.

One of my favorite Zelda games. So glad that they made a sequel to this game called A Link Between Worlds. I hope that Nintendo make either a remake of Link’s Awakening on the Switch or 3DS or make something a sequel to that game.

"The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods") is the original Japanese title of the game. In the US and Europe, this title was changed because the word *Kami* ( 神 ) is Japanese meaning “god/deity/divinity/spirit”, Nintendo outside of Japan didn’t allow religious references at the time, even though crosses were the only elements that is not censored. - With a total of 14 dungeons, A Link to the Past had more dungeons than any other official Zelda game in a single playthrough, however, Hyrule Castle is technically 3 dungeons. - The bronze plates on the walls of inside the houses in Kakariko Village, which occasionally dispense Rupees when pulled by Link, strongly resemble Mario. - The catfish that resides in the Swamp of Evil is actually based of a creature from an 18th century Japanese tale about the catfish Namazu. This creature would wiggle its body in the water, bringing chaos and destruction to the land. The rocks that you see sticking out of the swamp surrounding the catfish in the game represent Namazu’s prison. It’s a great reference to a more obscure folklore tale. - There are three invisible enemies in the swamp that do not properly load in the game, essentially rendering them invisible. These enemies are Ku, which you can find in the dungeon located in the Swamp of Evil. While you can’t see them, they can still hurt you if you come into contact with them. The glitch likely happened due to these types of enemies were only programmed to function in deep water, which likely means the terrain was different during development, or the enemies were replaced. This glitch in the game makes for an interesting experience in the Swamp of Evil.
