lol I randomly found this horse on the way to Rito Village. I stopped off to recall a memory and as I was about to ride off. I was like. There's a random white horse just hanging out. So I decided to tame it.
Dude, that's a special horse that you can only get once, if it dies and you havent unlocked Malanya you cant get it again until you pay off your malanya bills
Fuckk that arrow shooting minigame was the bane of my existence, I've never had more trouble in this game prior to this. Fighting Ganon is like walking through a meadow of flowers compared to this
Dude, I hear ya. The first time I got past 20 targets I hit 23. This gave me the bridle. Since then I have hit 22 and 21, but got squat. No saddle. Somweone told me I need to better the 23 score to get it. BLOODY HELL!!
And what did we learn today, kids? Horse AI is dumb because literally every time I try to jump over the hill hurdle, they turn sideways and run around it. Great.
It's REALLY annoying, part of winning that minigame feels like chance. It helps to push forward on the analogue stick at all times as this stops their desire to avoid obstacles a lot. In general I wonder whether they were trying to go for a more realistic horse with the AI as real life horses will often avoid jumps.
FullMetalFeline If you're not pointing and steering at a jump, the horse will run out. I use my expert horse knowledge irl to get through it and beat the time. 😂
One time my horse was headed toward a river and I tried to stop it but it ended up falling and it swam to the other side while I had to deal with an octorock
The hurdle one was hard because my horse just wouldn't jump over the hurdle on the hill. Took a dozen tries and each time he would just stop at the hurdle.
Supernerd471 Yeah that happened to me too, but what I done was from the start I went the other way so I jumped the last one to the first, and the one on the hill Was WAY easier.
you have to pet your horse everytime he jumps. that way he will be less afraid of jumping. i dont know if this is actually true but the first time i tried it, he never stopped in any hurdle.
It's best you work on maxing the bond of the horse you will be using before attempting that coarse. The horse will be more likely to cooperate if the horse likes you. :P
I can't get through the target shooting one you have to be constantly moving, making it harder to shoot the target and you only have 60 seconds to shoot 20 targets, is it just me or does it feel like those 60 seconds go by way too fast like I can only get 11 or 13 before I have to suddenly stop like come on!
You should get the Ancient Bow from the Akkala Ancient Lab. It is SOOOO good. It has incredible range and minimal drop. It made that challenge a breeze for me. Seriously, that bow is good. I shot an arrow from Gerudo Tower and it hit the giant rock at the Oasis in Kara Kara Bazaar.
MarioKart7z I'm not sure what you're doing, but I don't see how you're reaching the end with Ganons horse. I even tried full speed running to the end hitting no targets, and I was still too far away to fire at it when time was up...
You have to play both mini games twice? That's lame... I mean, they should give you the whole set the first time you win, because it's misleading. If you only get, say, the bridle the first time you win, that makes you think you get the saddle somewhere else. But you don't.
MelodicDragon97 that's actually why I came to this video because I didn't have both of the Extravagant gears despite doing the minigame and I didn't realize I still needed one until now, definitely a silly decision on the devs part.
@@iamanobody9963 while I have nothing against working hard it doesn't make sense to only give one part of the set and not tell you how to get the rest of the set
It took me forever to get in Normal Mode, however in Master Mode I was able to get it first try thanks to the Great Eagle Bow, as well as using my 4/4/5 horse, Kalliburn.
I also found a way to jump off the horse and land back on it effortlessly, however I can't seem to consistently do it. I managed to do it on the first part of the "drill" minigame, but didn't do in the second part because I wanted to get the gear, first try.
Personally I love Archery on horseback especially in a Zelda game. Its challenging at first but it's all about when you choose to fire an arrow it depends on how fast you're moving and how fast the arrow will travel when released. The trick is letting your target run into the arrow
I've completed the bow game in 30 minutes after a lot of tries. Here's what I've done in my best game (24): 1- Rode the fastest horse I had. 2- Had the Forest Dweller Bow equipped (it has the same effect the Lynel bow has - 3 arrows at once) 3- Begin the game using the first speed boost of the horse. Keep the normal horse's speed after this boost until the 7th target (double balls). 4- The first 7 targets (including the double target) you MUST not miss, otherwise you won't have enough time to make this strategy work. 4- Shoot a bomb arrow at the double target so you can gain time and focus on the next targets, that are the most difficult ones. 5- After destroying the double target, decrease the horse's speed by one when you reach the 8th target (the triple ones). Keep calm. You can miss a few (1 or 2 as long as you get all the remaining ones). After clearing this line, use 1 speed boost and depending on your progress until now you can even miss OR NOT 1 or 2. 6- Keep calm and shoot the ones on the left line and right lines after. By this time YOU MUST HAVE SHOT AT LEAST 16 targets. 7- The time is probably ending, but try not to look the clock. 8- The key to this strategy is right here. You will see a space with 2 targets on opposite sides and 5 targets together. Here's what you going to do: speed the fuck out of your horse, but don't push it beyond its limits, otherwise it's going to throw you. So, speed up the maximum and when you reach the center of this space, click to jump. The second you get the highest point of your jump click to shoot, so the time will freeze, but always moving the analog to your right in order to shoot first the right target (that was behind you), the left target (also, behind you) and finishing with a bomb arrow in the five remaining targets. This was the way I did my best score.
first time I got a stalhorse I immediately headed for a stable -didn't know they couldn't register- and it died a few feet away before I could even find out if you could register them or not r.i.p stalhorse I love stalhorse's, I wish they were able to register in stables ;-;
McKaos I got the monster gear specifically for the purpose of registering the Lord of the Mountain, only to find out that the item description is completely misleading and the gear only fits regular horses :(
Both the Hurdle and Shooting ones are really hard. The Shooting game I'm fine with, because with that one your struggling to make yourself better at the game. With the Hurdle Jumping minigame your literally fighting with the physics, usually your horse will stop at a hurdle or just get right out of it's way, costing lots of time either way. I still haven't gotten the full Extravagant Set.
satoru iwata passed during the making of botw so they immortalised him in the game as Lord of the mountain. it would be rude if you could keep lord of the mountain. it's there for a reason, and its not to be tamed.
The extravagant gear trial is literally hell. I tried 20 times and couldn’t get under the limit and my damn horse decided it didn’t want to go get five of the fences
I’m crying rn trying to get it. I am not exaggerating or joking in any way there are literal tears coming out of my eyes. I am yelling screaming cussing my horse out and after this you bet I’m going to keep slicing it and bombing it until it suffers a terrible death. This mini game is making me lose my damn mind I have countless bite marks on my arms now cause I am so fucking furious and I bit myself out of anger.
I have attained the armour and have revived my poor horse. I feel very bad for what I have done to him and have given him all of my apples and carrots. (I had around 200 apples)
seriously who the hell is not complaining about stuff like this? the AI is so sensitive like fuck man just jump over the huddle but instead it purposely evades it.
For anyone having a hard time getting the knight gear: Getting a Lynel Bow with a 5 Shot Burst makes it a lot easier. Edit: You don't have to hunt for Silver Lynels to get the rare Savage bow with 5 shots, the Blue Lynel is much easier and it seems to have a bigger chance giving you a normal Lynel Bow with 5 Shots.
Its impossible for me to get the knight armor. I barely got the bridle, now they want me to get more than flippin' 20?! i wasted so many arrows and bows for freakin' nothing.
i saved it before doing it and load the save after every fail at the end i used explosif arrow for most of the track cause it was too frustating and only got 21 even with that haha
I used the savage lynel bow and just reloaded a save i had just before i started doing it, took me like 20 mins but i got 23 and 24 immediately after. I coulda been a perfectionist and went 25, 25 but honestly i got the gear i was out
both minigames are bullshit :/ I wish they worked on horses longer because they feel broken even during regular travel. I swear they get caught on the smallest things, even when Im traveling on the path and not touching the controller. And considering that using shrines and towers are so much easier and quicker. once you discover them all theres no use for them besides the final boss.
Really? Personally I find the horses to be one of the best parts of the game, and I find them all very easy to control. Maybe you don't have maxed out bond? Or if your horses are "getting caught" a lot it means you're not riding on the centre of the path.
It would be awesome if there was ancient horse gear, then you could look like a badass with ancient armor and weapons. Also, inadvertently, I found 4 shrines I was missing, so thanks for that I guess, considering I already knew all the horse gear locations.
I’m 2 years late but I just beat the archery horse mini game Best combo is a Falcon Bow/Great Eagle bow and a 4/4/5 horse. Don’t use lynel bows, bad arrow distance. Ancient bows aren’t as good as people say they are either, they shoot far but have a slow fire rate. Edit: adding on, don’t wait until you’re right next to a target to shoot it! Bows shoot far, so use that. Once you’re done with one target immediately go at the next one, this tip is mainly for the beginning of the run. Using this method I beat the mini game in 2 tries where before I tried a dozen or so times. Hope this helps anyone who sees it. Edit 2: if you don’t have a 4/4/5 horse look on the big plateau near the Tabantha region, it’s near a stable that’s UNDER the giant abyss (or Forgotten Temple) in the Tabantha region.
You can train your horse by soothing it after it goes over a jump. I've found you can also train your horse to quick start by soothing it too. Now I think my horses go out of their way to jump over things.
lmaoooo ..word, i've literally spend 3.5 hrs doing this shit.. i found the best way to do this is using the revali's bow first, with regualr arrows then the 2nd time use bomb arrows.. doing this preserves the bow's durability (for more tries) this shit was even harder than shooting all octoroks for a piece of heart in majora's mask mini game in clock town. i clicked on this video to see if there were anymore horse gears to get.. i'm kinda disappointed.. i wanted a different one for every horse. don't move the camera when doing it.
for knight horse armor, use an ancient bow! it shoots completely straight and is easy to use! keep it in mind when going for the knights horse armor! PS: you get it from the akkala ancient tech lab with a giant ancient core, 15 gears, and 10 shafts. ( i don't think i'm correct about the numbers though)
I've had this game for three months now and I think I spent most of that just walking around amazed at how big and detailed the world is... Now I got four hearts into my second line I keep getting my ass handed to me by those half man half horse (Lyons).
I had trouble with the hurdle on that hill, too. Something that worked for me was going around the other side of that particular hurdle- my horse went over it just fine that way. Try that if you're struggling.
I remembered I saw this video's thumbnail and right now I wanted to watch it so I entered RU-vid, and suddenly it appeared in my recommend, it's a sign from god
Answering your question, they are purely for esthetic, with the exception of the ancient gear, which gives more stamina to the horse and lets it teleport to you.
@@BigMoney398 Nope. Monster gear only works on normal horses- Stalhorses and Lord of the Mountain can't be registered and Ganon's horse can't change gear. Its essentiallly useless as it looks super ugly, but hey, it nets you that 100% completion.
Quick tip for the hurdle minigame! Starting with the hurdles in the opposite direction as intended is way more consistent, which is why speedruns do it that way as well.
its easy to beat it even with 3 hearts which is what I and many other have done. stamina is recommended as it would make lynels and hinox much easier to defeat for good weapons.
Health is not needed unless you suck. Stamina is actually better. The only real reason you need health is for the Master Sword. I'd say get the second stamina wheel completed first, then get some hearts. I would also recommend maxing stamina and being short 3 hearts.
Actually the max amount of hearts you can have is 30 but the game gives you the choice of maxing the stamina wheel OR your hearts. You'd need 12 more spirit orbs than are in the game to max both.
for those who have the twilight princess amiibo, get the twilight bow. it makes the archery game easier, and at the end with the 5 balloons you can just switch to your royal bow and use a bomb arrow. hope this helped
Yeah, logically that make sense, but the guy specifically says "the white horse princess zelda rode" her butt touched that horse according to the old guy
What the heck. I tried so many times and I keep failing then my bow breaks, then I have to load my old file again, like if you hate when your weapons break
Here's a tip for the shooting mini game: Get a bow that shoots multiple arrows at once (example: lynel bow) OR a golden bow, because it zooms in on the targets and makes them easier to hit. Also, I found that having a faster horse it better for this because you don't have to gallop to hit them all, you can go at a pace before the gallop, and make sure that you don't try to jump off your horse and freeze time, because you're more than likely to fall off and have to restart. Obviously stock up on some regular arrows and bomb arrows. I hope this helps!
If you hold your trigger button (shoot bow) you can then push right on D-pad to scroll through you bows, just like you do when changing your melee weapons quickly.
I’m making this official, I will play Zelda and go around the map, getting bomb arrows and bows that shoot 3 at once. I need to get th Knight Gear. I’m desperate
Tips for the archery minigame: use phenic bow or golden bow, it’s waaaaay easier and at the last moment use 3x bow and bomb arrows, i used this trick and got 25 twice.
The traveler's set makes me so mad. I am fine with all of the other amiibo content, but the traveler's set is the one link used in all of the memories, and it is just there taunting me throughout the entire game.
I was disappointed too, but I just went ahead and bought the amiibo … It's a quite pretty statue, and you can get extra stuff from it, so not a total waste of cash. Still a shame though.
Dear Diary, Monday, September 11, 2017 I Was Busy Trying To Get All Targets In The Mounted Archery Camp, But. I Saw Your Video On How To Break All Targets In Mounted Archery, And I Mastered The Mounted Archery Camp! Thanks BeardBear! Edit:Its probably october now so.Yeah Edit 2:OMG ITS NOVEMBER
