Breath of the Wild taught me that if an NPC has an actual name, they’re legit. If they have a name that just describes what they are, you’re getting ambushed. The Researchers were no different.
The second I realized that they were calling Kohga, I got the biggest grin on my face because I knew I was about to experience the best character in the game yet again.
I can't wait for the inevitable frienemy relationship where he helps the player for a mutual goal to demonstrate just how actually capable this guy is. They paint him in a comedic light, but think about everything he's accomplished. He's really not a pushover.
I like how Kohga retains leadership over a clan of arguably far more competent and deadly assassins through sheer charisma and gusto alone. He has subordinates capable of calling down earth-shattering tornadoes, and yet the dude comes at you with a _monster truck._
I absolutely adore how for this game they turned up the ridiculousness of Kohga to 11, with how over the top his boss fights are down to even the remixed theme
He returns after a supposed death. He has a huge fanclub. He uses vehicles for attacking. I have time-related powers. You gotta be kidding me, it's DIO.
@Nicholas Thomas he was both a boss and a playable character, so are alot of other characters, great faries, monk maz koshia, revali, calamity ganon, most characters that are playable are also bosses but master kohga started as a boss aswell as the ones that I just mentioned and more.
Would explain how he survived that fall. James survived something similar once. And his final scene has to be a reference to them, not just the "blasting off" part, but the fact that it was directly caused by rockets.
i love how the yiga clan actually feel like a threat in this game, as well as kohga being an easy way for them to already know about and have bases in the depths
give kohga credit, he spent his time in the depths working the zonai tech and helping increase his and his clans capabilitys with weapon and vehcile creations
I don't know why I was worried about Kohga's so called Doomsday device. It's just an ordinary mech suit. People have made much more dangerous devices. When I saw Kohga's Rocket tip over I knew it was going to hit him. 21:31 MASTER KOHGA'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN! For someone who is over 100 years old he's surprisingly agile. He's at least 126 by my calculations. He was apparently an adult in Age of Calamity and was at least 18 in that game however Sooga's backstory shows that he's even older than that. It's unclear how old Sooga was when he joined the Yiga Clan but judging by his voice it sounds like his balls haven't dropped yet (I'm basing this off the Japanese version since he didn't sound like a kid in English). Sooga may have been around 10 years old and Kohga was still an adult apparently. If Sooga was 18 in age of Calamity, Kohga may have been around 26.
@@acejumper1681 If you defeat the boss in Hyrule Castle before fighting Kohga the final time, then Kohga makes mention to the fact that Ganondorf has been reawakened and that his army is waiting in the depths.... So he knows about the war crimes.
@@oddassemblerI sincerely believe Kohga isn't really a bad guy deep down. He's just part of a crazy cult. In the AOC timeline it's proven that Kohga doesn't really like the evilness Ganon brings out. This Kohga hasn't experienced the actual terror that is Ganon/Ganondorf. Deep down he's basically an overgrown man child fan boi. But a funny one at that
By the time I actually got to the final fight, I had a 154 dmg spear, a lv3 atk buff, and all of the sages. His fate was sealed the second he was on the ground
@@Mirage475 in lore according to the book every Leader of the Yiga is named Kohga. So even if it’s not the same Kohga we’re likely to see a Kohga again just like how we always in into Impa even if it’s not the same Impa. Personally my guess is that it’s tradition to name the Master Kohga because Kohga was the one who founded the Yiga.
@@blueeyeddrago3540 well for the second one Astor could’ve died from summoning calamity Ganon and Sooga could be somewhere else like the out of bounds areas
Also, the third and, to an extent, second fights could actually be difficult. I did not expect that from him. I remember after the first fight I was like "He's not much tougher than before."
I don't think this will be the end of Master Kohga, either. Considering he survived falling into the pit in the Yiga Clan Hideout in Breath of the Wild, there's a good chance he will be back again.
Without a cutscene, he'll just make grunts. I've realized some characters like Purah's student and Yona got voice actors, but we don't really get to hear them speak full sentences on the plot side of things.
Perhaps the third game where you fight him on whatever planet he landed on that happens to be where you fight the next big villain he'll likely ally with?
Let me guess. After two big open world games set in Hyrule, the third game will have a whole new world by being set on an entirely different planet... and it so happens that Kohga landed on that planet when he got launched into space. Maybe he'll knock himself into a black hole, and the fourth game will be set in an alternate dimension... and guess who will be waiting for us there?
got side tracked due to finding hin early on while exploring the depths one thing led yo the next and im currently fighting the 3 battle/stage with only 4 hearts and no stam upgrades… its painful
I love the fact that he survived implies that there was some sort of way down the hole in the hideout for it to break his fall.... you know what that means? THE BANANA PEELS LET HIM LAND SOFTLY! FUCK YEAH!
I still remember that master kohga want to revenge with the giant spike ball in BOTW, and now...... With rocked launcher in TOTK???, and its very funny for me the ending XD
