If you're looking for a motorized "smart" curtain controller, this is a pretty good option. It's well engineered, solidly built, and works as you'd expect. It uses the Tuya app, so it'll work with Home Assistant. It also works with Alexa and Google Home.
The instructions could be better. Let me save you some time. Watch this video before you attempt to put this thing together. You'll thank me later.

This video helped, thank you. Mine are done. It was easy. I definitely want to hide the traverse rod as well. I will probably be putting my old curtain rod back up, just above this, then use a scarf type of valance.

thanks for another great vid Drzzz , just as a comparison, I have 2 xiaomi curtain tracks that came with belts etc already assembled, biggest track is 3.5 m so came in 3 bits and the other 2.5 which was in two bits. Great thing is once bolted together thats it, no faffing with cutting belts. Down side is you have to check which brackets they supply as they generally come with ceiling fixings, side carrying brackets are extra but seeing the ones that they sent, a trip to local hardware store would do the trick

Thanks for the video, it really made a difference with understanding the installation. I saw at the end of your video that there is also a way to host your automation yourself through yml config file. Which application did you use for this?

As an improvement too, you can add some short strings between each intermediate rolling parts for each side of the curtains to make them deploy equally... I mean if you look at the final scene of your video you can see that the "opening part" of your curtains are flat and that lot of curtain material stays on the wall side; if you put some short strings or some fishing string between each intermediate rolling slider it will permit to the curtains to deploy keeping some waving shapes.. But anyways; GREAT WORK !!!

As far as the w.a.f I think there are some offset curtain hangers that should stiffen the tops and elevate them up they look kinda like a h and the top pin should go into the top hem "search Amazon for Bali blinds long pin on hooks and compair to the ones your using" or you may just need like a 8" strip of the same style fabric and another curtain rod to hide it

I think you just need to put the hooks lower into the curtains. At least the ones I have thats how you do it. That way the tops of the curtains hide the mechanical slider (manual ones would show too)

@21:35 you need two motors to control each side separately. With only one motor, the curtains must move in concert.

now that you say that it makes total sense. Wonder why they would include that weird remote to control them separately if there's only one motor? Thanks!

Great video as always. I have a Tuya switch for a roller blind which I wanted to link to HA. What can I do if I don't get the jumblebunch of numbers? Does it mean the switch isn't supported?
@DrZzs
@DrZzs 5 лет назад
hmm, do you have other Tuya devices working in HA? If you aren't getting the entity_id (jumblebunch of numbers), then maybe the Tuya component isn't connecting correctly to the Tuya servers. Check your HA logs for anything that looks like a failure of the Tuya component. All the Tuya switches should work with the official Tuya HA component.
@kaleun303
@kaleun303 5 лет назад
@@DrZzs nothing in the logs. It's a bare 0.95.4 install with no other components. I got a switch and a thermostat on the way. Is it better to use the Tuya app or the Smart Life app? Both seem to work and look identical.
@kaleun303
@kaleun303 5 лет назад
@@DrZzs Ok, just received the thermostat for the electric underfloor heating and the dimmer switch. Both showing up in HA with no issues, so it must be the curtain switch which is the issue here. (RU-vid ate my comment?) My Zemismart curtains arrived this week. So of course the motor house is in pieces and wired to the computer. The white metal box contains a motor with gearboxes and end-sensors (back-emf or position most likely). 12VDC. There are two blue circuit boards, one is a switch-mode PSU, 240VAC to 12VDC. The second board has a 433MHz radio module, op-amp for the position sensors, motor drivers, an RS485 driver(!) (Attached to the RJ12 on the bottom), and the brains is a PIC micro. The "USB" port on the bottom is not USB, but 9600 serial on the USB1.0 pins, and a blue led control on USB3 R+. The little white dongle contains a Tuya TYWE1S, esp8266 +2M flash. So, all the smarts for hacking are in the dongle. I just need to work out how it is talking to the PIC micro. It is 9600, but what does 0x55 AA 00 00 00 00 FF mean?

@SittingDuc
@SittingDuc 4 года назад
@@DrZzs So my Zemismart curtain motor arrived today and is in pieces around me. Model BCM300D-TY. WiFi, no Zigbee/Z-Wave. Held together with annoying triangle "security" screws. The main board has motor drivers (12V DC brushed), an RF433MHz daughterboard, an RS485 driver and the main chip is a PIC16F1829-1. The "USB" dongle has the Tuya radio modem. I don't think it is talking USB over the pins. Not going to plug this into a PC to find out! Since the main board only has a PIC, it's not worth the disassembly; for the one I own, the little "USB" dongle is where the hacking lives. Will need to break down the protocol from PIC to Tuya, so I can teach Tasmota how to talk it.
