Silicon type may be 0.7 but not clear 0.8 means

why did u assume 0.8v only?? why not other values ??

2 years too late but.. He's assuming the forward voltage drop of the diode is 0.8V. in school we were allowed to assume 0.7V for silicon diodes. it's usually between 0.6V and 0.8V for silicon diodes. He didn't explicitly explain that.
