Zero would be my top pick for a new smash character. Although, I do agree with the general assessment that there are too many sword fighters. I would like too see some more villains added to the roster. Dr Eggman, Chaos, Ansem, Haldin, and Balder all feel like they would be great unique characters.
I would make Ryuenjin his Up B special and Raikousen his side special. Final Smash can be Absolute Zero. Give him a comeback factor like Sougenmu after taking enough damage. Hadangeki will be his neutral special.
Slight History Correction: Zero wasn't "on the side" of the Mavericks. He was sealed away by Wily alongside the predecessor to the Maverick Virus, which was leaking out and causing Reploids to go Maverick. Sigma, who was the leader of the Maverick Hunters at the time, found and fought him in a "berserk" state, the two ending on a draw that both damaged the "gem" on Zero's head that caused him to malfunction and become "normal", and caused Sigma to become a Maverick. Kain had nothing to do with Zero's reprogramming.
I like Zero as an idea for a character but this isn't going to be a balanced state for him. The mispronunciation of his moves aside (Japanese do not have alternate pronunciation so Hyouryuushou would be (Hee yo- ree-you sho) However Zero shouldn't have so many projectiles. While yes he does have some in his games he's mostly a swordsman compared to X's run and gun playstyle. Forward tilt being the buster shot doesn't really feel appropriate as I think a downward two handed slash would be more sufficient and true to the character. Allow it to start high and continue to in front, but make the actual hitbox stay close to Zero's front and just slightly above his head to act as a small anti-air or allow him to juggle opponents above him while pushing them towards his front. I would make Shipuuga multi hit up to two or three times and reduce the knockback so it can be his main method of approaching from neutral and either forcing his opponent to block (being safe so he can apply pressure). His charge shot should also follow his other games and t3 should be a slash combo ended by a buster shot sending the opponent flying and not allowing much follow up if any at all. However still allow him to maintain charge if he blocks or dodges/spot dodge and even on hit he can maintain the charge.
I appreciate your response to the video. from your perspective, this moveset isn't as what you've expected. here's my reasoning with things. the reason why I've done what I done is to give Zero something different to work with. most fighting games portrays Zero as a rush down character like in Marvel Vs capcom 3 and infinite. for this moveset I wanted to make a throwback to his run and gun days by mixing both of his Z Saber moves and other weapons/ projectiles. yes, some moves could have been done better like his back air for example. he will still have his rush down movement to some degree, but not on the level of Fox or Shiek's rush down movement. the guard shell cool down could be lower to at least 15 seconds to fix that. I know how powerful Zero is and other fighters like Sora, Ganon, and even Sephiroth. even they need to have some of their moves scaled down for this game at least, due to past mistakes of making particular characters more powerful than the others. you may not agree with me on that, but that's what I believe in. remember, this moveset is not a legit moveset that the developers could use. maybe they will make him a rush down fighter, maybe he'll have projectiles, or maybe it will be in between like here. thanks for watching.
@@DatSmashBro Yea, so quick correction here, sorry for the misunderstanding. I think that having a mega man zero based zero character would be more interesting because between the rod weapons, his buster shot, and the shield boomerang, he would have a very diverse and less saber based moveset.

Sixty seconds, or one minute, is a long cooldown for the Down Special. Why can't it be more comparable to Pit's Down Special, Guardian Orbitars, that takes ten seconds to fully regenerate? I feel like fifteen seconds is more reasonable than sixty seconds, in my opinion

ftilt and fair being zoning tools is dumb. The saber slash is neutral B is all the projectile tools he needs. (Hadangeki) Side B should be something else.
He’s still gonna continue with being the director of the game. He did stated that he can’t see smash without his involvement. I believe that he will still be in charge for at least one or two more games until he passes the torch to a younger development team. All he needs is to get a good rest due to his age. Overall he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
I usually don't do color swap pallets or taunts for fighters on this channel, unless if the character has an alt costume as in another character themselves.
Just from the series I'd give him his obvious Black Zero color, Nightmare Zero, Axl color, Vile Color, Megaman Zero Color, X1 armor and Absoloute Zero color
