These Zetors bring back memories... My grandparents used to have a farm when I was a kid and I always went there and drove with the zetors... Those were good days
I believe some Zetor tractors can be started with a shotgun like cartridge that turned the motor over. Like the cartridges used in the Daytona aircraft for starting.
As far I know there weren't any... These are pretty big engines too so if you want power you can forget shotgun starters... The compression ratio is just incredible. The closest to a easy start would be on a Zetor 25 where you even have preheaters (or rather those glowy things in the combustion chamber and the air preheaters
@@KendorFarms happy to hear that! Ill be honest with you I had no idea that thing can even fire a single shot at that cold temps. I would in your place disconnect the air intake from the filter and blow a hot air gun at full power in it..AND NEVER EVER EVER USE STARTING AGENTS. Most of the engines and machines take it easy but its a absolute nono with these engines.
Yeah well I own both a 4611 and a 7011. Absolute ancient but genius pieces of engineering that will keep running until metal is metal (machine parts not problem). Neither the 4611 nor the 7011 has a block heater. Instead cold starts are performed by pulling the hand throttle to it's max setting and then pressing a button on the fuel pump/fuel distributor . It advances the timing a little bit giving it a little extra umf. Yours does that pretty much automatically. Also above all you have the luxury of not having to ever check on the oil in the fuel pump because it's lubed from engine oil..mines are on a separate circuit. Fun times
Yea it was stone cold. Didn’t think it would start, but just put a new battery in so figured I had lots of crank time. I’m an hour east of Toronto, near Rice Lake
I noticed you ran the starter for almost a minute, not a great practice according to the Zetor owners manual.. Does it have a cold start button on the injector pump. If it's constantly below 25`F where you live use a 0-30 syn oil in the winter. I use it in my 1987 Mercedes diesel and it has 600K plus on the clock. I have a 3340 Zetor and when it's below 20`F or about - 10`C I plug it in.
No, no cold start option. I don’t worry too much about over cranking it, I repair them. Typically it’s plugged in during winter and has a 2 second crank time
@@pauldiack8836 The 7245 has an automatic cold start function on the pump - they've done away with the old cold-start button. Amazed how well they will start with good battery power behind them!
Hello there, could I use a part of your video for my cold-starting compilation? of course I put a link to your original video in the description, increasing the original’s popularity too. Thank you for answer in advance :) Zetor in Canada? I'm shocked to be honest :D Also, Merry Christmas and all the best in the year 2022 =)
If the zetor has the original 77 engine, it has runned only on two cylindres in the end... But it is surprising it started... Have you used the injection ballast? (some type of choke - if it is written incorrectly, i am sorry, used Google translator) Zetor is Great Tractor. Good luck!
Very lucky it started! It has no choke, I wish that it did. Only thing I can do in the winter is plug in the block heater to warm up the coolant in the engine and that works every time. It has been a great tractor!
From the former Czechoslovakia, these tractors were imported to the USA ????So I would never say Zetor gets that far.Well, the start is known for Zetor in these frosts. How satisfied are you with this brand. 🤔😉
