Hello Uncle Zet! Thank you for these interviews. Im really enjoying it. I assume this show is strictly metal? I have some suggestions, if you want any. Im just going to list some of my favorite bands if you consider doing a history of their old days: Carnivore, Destruction, Type O Negative, Wargasm, Deathrow, Wasted Youth, Kreator, King Diamond, Flotsam and Jetsam, Defiance, Pestilence, Obituary, Carcass, Voivod, Coroner, Sepultura, Infectious Grooves or old Suicidal members, Larry Lalonde, Jim Martin from Faith No More, and a little SF band called Mr Bungle...I cant get enough history. This is my favorite Forbidden segment with Tim Calvert. Right on Brother!

I agree! Get some of the Testament and Death Angel guys on the show. I love long, in-depth histories of the band like this.

Bring on part 4! Loving this history lesson. You hear/read bits and pieces in interviews over the years, but this just fills in all the gaps. And plenty of "how did I not know this for over 30 years??" moments.

Twisted into form is a perfect record The guitar playing on it is above, and was above, anything that was out of that time, it's one of my all time favorite albums.

Absolute masterpiece of next level speed metal. With an emphasis as Craig says on actual songs. So. Good. For what it's worth; the Calvert era of Nevermore is my favorite. Such an excellent player and songwriter.

A point of interest that wasn't mentioned, or maybe I missed it, was about the album art for your debut. @ 17:05.. in the description that you gave about VI0-LENCE. ".. blizzard of swirling energy." and knowing now about the intense rivalry between FORBIDDEN and VI0-LENCE. I'm curious if that rivalry was the inspiration / intention for the artwork of 'Forbidden Evil'? Two opposing forces squaring off head-to-head over a burning city by the bay?⛧🤘

@@MINOTAURunOfficial It was not. I came up with the original 2 skull concept at HS one day. Explained it to my friend, Andy Rutherford and then he drew it up for me. Thinking this was 11th grade. Purely coincidental.

That's awesome having come up with that piece one day at school. Remarkable. Do you still have the original artwork that Andy made for you? Appreciate the reply! And thanks for all your contributions to Metal over the years. I have been a fan of FORBIDDEN EVIL since I was in HS. Saw you all hella times since then, and I wish only the best for you and the band in the years to come!⛧🤘

Saw Forbidden before the first album came out (they came to my hometown population 40,000 opening for Death Angel) saw them again a few months later in Oakland(?), saw them on the Twisted tour. These are some of the best shows I have seen ever. The whole time I never knew about the BS with Glen. I never considered them to be bombastic at all. Just great fuckin metal! Thanks for documenting the Bay Area scene, it was a great time in my life, and I still listen to these old records...

23:44-24:17.. I agree 110% with Craig's statement about the death of Thrash Metal in the early '90s. "It wasn't Grunge that killed Metal. It was that something more pure came along." 💀 "Thrash in the beginning was pure. As everybody was busy throwing their own award shows, and fuckin' starting to think about how big they're going to be on the next album, or the next ballad they were going to fuckin' write. That is when everybody shit the bed!"⛧🤘

I was on my way to see the oracle and discovered your Toxic Vault series on Forbidden's history, Zetro. Loving It! I subscribed and appreciate you bringing fourth the stories of the tears and triumphs of this talented group of fellows! I'm always fascinated by Craig's perspective and fabrications in the Matrix. I leave you with this - If you listen to fools... Then Craig rules! Huzzah!

Watching this for the 3rd time. I love Forbidden, love Craig and Matt and RIP Tim, just wanted to comment about the whole Rick Ruben "What could have been" piece. For me the production especially at the time on Twisted was SO stellar!! It could not have been better. and Combat did a great job promoting it. but the whole Rick Rubin story isn't interesting note in the band's history and the trajectory of events that followed for me the big what could have been for forbidden is what if you guys had just stayed on relativity and put out whatever album the traps demo would have turned into which would have been great and just continue to chew or clubs with whoever but I'm so grateful I was there for a good chunk of forbidden history you guys always being hella cool and hanging out and put me on the guest list and partying afterwards such great memories and Steve was the coolest too.

having said that I remember that time vividly and I totally understand forbidden's viewpoint on this of like hey we might as well try to hold out for a major and tour the theaters and Arenas instead of just playing these killer club shows forever

Out of the first 4 of these interviews with Craig. This one is my fave so far. 03:41 Strep Throat = Tour Aids. 04:26 Professor Bostaph and how he broke his arm in Europe and handling the drums for the rest of the tour. "He was very Rick Allen about it." And the best of this segment was the real story about Tim Calvert [R.I.P.] and his involvement within FORBIDDEN. I miss that dude. Great player absolutely down to earth. I'm glad that Craig had the opportunity to speak about him.⛧🤘 For those who would like a chance to hear one of Tim's final compositions. 3 bands I could never get in was death angel, forbidden and violence. Just always sounded sloppy to me. But appreciate them and love listening to the history especially since I saw the birth of metal and thrash and so on. I love the fact that zet says metal was so divided back then, and it was. I was one of the guys who loved heavy but would never admit back then that I liked great white. Lol. Love the show zet, hope it continues

I remember going to see my friend's crossover band Dr. Know opening for Forbidden and Dark Angel at Fender's Ballroom in Long Beach in 1989. That's around the time I began to get burned out on thrash metal after being hardcore into it since 1983 - all of the 2nd and 3rd wave bands who were coming out were either unoriginal or overly-technical, or both. Forbidden fit into the latter category. As soon thrash lost it's raw punk edge, it got boring and predictable, and that's basically why the scene fizzled out.

Forbidden Evil has much better sound than Twisted into Form. You can hear the bass clearly and it'a dynamic. Twisted has the same crappy compressed sound as Fabulous Disaster and Victims of Deception.
