I have a 2007 territory has a fault po705 range censor fault it is a zf6hp26 in a all wheel drive . Could it be the solinoids or the plastic mechatronics unit.

Thanking you for making these videos very detailed and helpful. I have an Audi A6 C6 4F 3.0 TDI with the ZF 6HP giving error p0783-001-3-4 shift. Do you think Solenoids and rubber seals will fix it?

hi, if you have fault codes it will be electrical issue, the seals on these will flatten out. cheers

Hi I have a intermittent problem with my bf xr6 falcon. When I put in reverse it goes into limp mode I shut the car of and start it up and it's all good. The shifter linkage broke I had manually shift it from underneath car and that's when it first went into limp mode. I got the trans serviced still have the same problem. Cheers Scott

hi, check for linkage adjustment is synchronized with internal trans selection on manual shaft valve. cheers

Hi, great video! You seem to be knowledgeable at this. I am debating whether to replace the mechatronic unit or just the solenoids. Are all of the (accumulator?) pistons on the valve body supposed to push in and out via spring action? On my ZF6HP19 mechatronic, some pistons don't move at all. Specifically, in my unit, there are 5 pistons with cotter pins on the underside (assuming top side is where one can see the solenoids), 3 of them facing the right, 2 facing the left. The smaller 2 of the 3 facing the right, push in and out with spring action pushing them back out. The third, being the bigger one, with a bigger radius, is stuck, does not move. The other 2 pistons, facing the left are stuck, do not move. Looking at the edge of the mechatronic, opposite to the edge where the solenoid valves are, there are 6 pistons with cotter pins, 2 on the longer part that's protruding, they both push in and spring back out (one of them is deeper in, but still can be pushed with a finger), and there are 4 on the shorter part, by the tab that reads 1068327179. Out of these 4, the 2 smaller ones, to the left, push in and spring back out. The 2 to the right, with bigger radius, are stuck. Is this normal, or the pistons that are stuck are bad and I need a new mechatronic unit? Thank you very much for your time.

hi, what was initial problem? did you get any fault codes ( indicates electrical problem ) or no codes ( mechanical problem )? i would always start with easier options ( replace solenoids if codes found ) the mechatronic units are expensive and you will also need to tow the vehicle to a dealership to get the mech flashed to your vehicle. choice is always your though. good luck and cheers

Honestly I haven't hooked it up to INPA yet, had the INPA-dedicated computer die on me, will install INPA on new computer soon. No errors on dash board. Just rough shifting in 1st and 2nd gears, especially in cold weather, put-put sound, like a soft motorcycle sound (not an exhaust issue) and lately a knocking sound in those gears, that I also feel through the armrest. So I will be replacing all rubber sleeves/adapters, and putting in new solenoids, but I was just playing around with the mech unit when I got it out and noticed these valves (or pistons?), each has a cotter pin. There are 6 on the opposite edge across the solenoids, and there are 5 (3 one way, 2 another way), on the upper side that's facing the transmission, and some of them push in and spring back out, while others do not. I just thought that maybe it's supposed to be like that, or maybe not and those valves that don't move maybe have gone bad and I need a new mech unit. I saw your video that you have dealt with the mech unit before, do you remember if all of those valves push in and spring out? Maybe I'm the only curious one that thought of pushing on them.

If the car is misfiring in all 8 cylinders but still drives m, doesn’t over heat. Just has slow acceleration and jumps gears. If I changed mechatronic unit will that fix the issue?

I swapped out the transmission and now I'm getting a no communication code with tcm. Do you think swapping tcm from original tranny to the one I installed would correct the problem?

hi, make sure the plug is in properly and that you havent bent any of the pins first....then you can try swap the mech. cheers

Hi, different colours identify the different solenoids...they are different. Sometimes the old trans fluid even stains the plastic, so they can even be other colours too. cheers
