Ustadh being not as knowledgeable as you I’m ignorantly asking how reliable is that declassified document from the cia and is it the only place we can find that event of Jordan killing that many Palestinians?
@Historyun
@Historyun 2 дня назад
Great question. The numbers are always subjective. Yasser Arafat was the one who reportedly claimed that 25,000 Palestinians were killed during the conflict with king Hussein. Others cite 4000-6000 victims depending on what is being counted (PLO combatants or general Palestinian refugees). The CIA file is a median but it's safe to say that between 4000 to 25,000 were estimated dead during that brief encounter (the truth will be someone between the two extremes, there is a BBC report archive from 1970 where he correspondent clearly estimated 20,000 live on air during the actual war - it's on RU-vid). There is a Pakistani (Tariq Ali) professor who has also published a book wherein he cites similar estimates. He is an atheist socialist but the book is still out there. "The Duel - Pakistan on the Flight Path of American Power"

@HamzaKhan-ue7ii
@HamzaKhan-ue7ii 2 дня назад
Zia was a brigadier at the time. So it's very weird that a low-ranking individual would be an advisor to the Jordanian King. But then again, the PLO did fund and support terrorist organisations in Pakistan. Such as Al Zulfiqar and 3000 Baloch separatists. Al Zulfiqar was funded by the PLO, Hafiz Al Assad and ? Saddam Hussain. When they fired a missile at Zia's plane while he was on the way to India, it was reported that he couldn't stop laughing when they missed his plane. And when the Iraqi Embassy was stormed on Zia's orders, thousands of soviet weapons were found, matching the ones the separatists had. And that was when things went sour with Saddam. In conclusion, Zia hated Marxist and Arabist leaders. After all, he deposed Bhutto and his socialist government, and he said, quote, "I will target the soft underbelly of the USSR the (central Asian states)". And he did essentially destroy the USSR in Afghanistan, which led to the soviet collapse. He also stopped the OIC becoming another Arab league. For some reason people make Bhutto the hero and Zia the villian, without realisiing that they bith did good and bad. I personally think Zia was a better leader because my dad grew up under Zias martial law. And when Soviet tanks could be seen frim Peshawar pointing towards Pakistan, i dont belive a civil goverment would have had the backbone to do what Zias millitary government did to the USSR.

@HamzaKhan-ue7ii
@HamzaKhan-ue7ii 2 дня назад
@@junaidsofi760 One of the most famous terrorist attacks that Al Zulfiqar did was hijack a passenger airline. Shazaib Bhutto wanted the plane taken to Tripoli or Damascus, but then they realised that it wasn't possible so they landed it in Kabul. There is a book called "the terrorist prince". And many DAWN articles regarding this matter. I forgot to mention that it wasn't the PLO who themselves necessarily funded Al Zulfiqar. It was a combination of The Gaddafi, Assad, Hussain and PLO regimes. Gaddafi was the most open supporter of Al Zulfiqar. But Zia was always 1 step ahead because he demanded constant intelligence updates. Gaddafi even once planned with the PLO to break out Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto from the gallows, but Zia ordered the Libyan aircraft to go back.
@HamzaKhan-ue7ii

@@HamzaKhan-ue7ii ok got it. Though I'm not sure how much of it is the truth and how much hearsay. Siddiqui, who was chargé d’affaires of the Pakistani embassy in Jordan at the time, wrote, "… I received a call from Brig Zia, informing me that the king had asked him to take over the command of the 3rd Armoured Division stationed in Irbid, a town close to the Syrian border. Syria had moved with an armoured brigade into Jordan." He added Zia took command in Irbid, but the Syrians withdrew under pressure from the US and Israel before any combat operation. "This was the sum total of Pakistan’s involvement or Zia’s role in the alleged massacre of the Palestinians,” Siddiqui wrote. Siddiqui disagreed that the episode led to Arafat distrusting Pakistan. "Arafat visited Pakistan three times during Zia’s regime and met him at summits of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference and the Non-aligned Movement. During my assignment in Cairo as Pakistan’s ambassador (1997-1999), I had quite a few occasions to meet Arafat during Arab League meetings and found no bitterness in him about Zia’s alleged role as 'Butcher of Palestinians',” he wrote.
@Historyun
@Historyun День назад
The very fact that Siddiqui had to even make this statement speaks volumes. There is certainly no smoke without fire. When did Siddiqui serve and under which regime when was this testimony given.... Raises more questions than it answers Ps. Arafat met with king Hussein several times after the event and there are plenty of images showing them hugging and embracing one another, the same can be said of Bhutto and Mujiburahman in 1974 at the Lahore Islamic conference only 4 years after their bitter war. Arafat visiting Zia is not evidence of anything other than the fact that as politicians they are able to forge new alliances and switch sides whenever convenient

The fight in Palestine is fight between Muslims and Zionists. Yaser Arafat was a nationalist and in all this tenure he was publicizing it as Jews against Arab - that was and still is the mistake - Where Zionist could leverage all their allies from the West under US/Canada/Europe. Arafat had a tunnel vision and that led to his failure. He could not unit all Muslim under one banner - The Ideology of Umma. This time around the image of war is believed to be between Muslims and Zionist - it is good to learn from history but not to repeat the mistake from it - Muslims should defend as one Umma against this threat - not Shia/Sunni or others.

You need to understand, all army generals in Pakistan since its creation in 1947 have been 'selected' or their selection covertly influenced by the US Department of Defence. This became quite evident during the reign of former army general Pervez Musharraf who was a key figure in the war against terror and the US needs to do this to keep its hold on countries like China and Afghanistan.

Jordan also is a British creation, it was Palestine before. CIA misinformation should not be used. Zia was always pro Palestine like Pakistani state. Pakistan does not by law associate in taking sides in fighting Muslims. Mate you are disseminating slander and myopic mis information. Read Zias biography of the situation first.

Zia ul haq did not kill Palestinians on black Friday. Zia was allocated at the conflict of Syria and Jordan border as a military adviser. Zia had excellent relations with PLO and Yasser Arafat. This defamation is promoted by Anti Pakistan military liberal secular. Zias biography outlines the situation clearly and debunks the slander! Even after Black Friday YA and Zia were the best of friends. Fact!

Sure. Whatever keeps you asleep at night.... Do you genuinely believe king Hussein appointed someone who was best friends with the PLO during Black September? Interesting theory.

Massoud resisted Zia ul Haq and his army the first time talibs came and ISI failed against Massoud. I really recommend everyone the book ‘The Afghan Napoleon’ or any book on Massoud’s biography.

This is BS, Ziaul Haq was a defence attache sitting in the embassy in Amman during the operations against PLO. This myth was created by the supporters of Bhutto after Zia hung him for his eight years of treacherous totalitarian rule.

Zia and Pakistani military have served as mercenaries all over the world. Bhutto and Zia are still Pakistani and ultimately both of the same mercenary nature.
