A wonderful array of passing by Zidane here, including that fantastic assist @ 1:51 👍🏽. I think if there was one player that Zidane had a consistent understanding with Les Bleus it was Lizarazu. Similar to what Zidane had with Roberto Carlos at Madrid.
A vintage Zidane display...those visionary passes and elegant dribbles. Man..it's a shame injury prevented us from seeing this version of Zidane at 2002 world cup :(
Yes very good point👍🏽 And many still believe that would have been his apex tournament and we missed out on it. It might have even been better than their team from Euro 2000.
I think he would have met Brazil again in the World Cup and beat them again. Brazil has always been intimidated by Zizou. Yes, I think France could have won the World Cup 2002 if Zidane wasn't injured
France were the best team in the world in 2002, that world cup was theirs to lose and they fucked it up. Zidane being injured played a big part in France being so poor.
