About UstadGah Foundation: UstadGah which literally translates to ‘Ustado ki JaGah’, (Abode Of Teachers and Guru's), this is a not-for-profit Foundation, founded in 2008 by UstadMa Zila Khan when UstadGah Foundation committed itself to fostering a musically rich and creatively immersive environment with artistically talented children, some from underprivileged backgrounds, for no fee at all. We are here to introduce the world to a new wave of World Musicians where we imbibe children from across the globe with internationally recognised musical, compositional skills and performative learning ability, again for no fees whatsoever, infact we generate funds to financially help them, for the sake of their talent to be put to the best use for them, as brilliant world musicians. Raw talent requires nurturing, and we hone their abilities to become artists representing both, our classical music heritage, while simultaneously exploring a modern, contemporary sound of their own. So along with our heritage music being taught and preserved, the students have the added chutzpah of earning a brilliant livelihood with this training, to perfectly perform and excel in "today's" music scenario world wide.
Zila Khan has inherited and lived within the musical lineage of one of India’s most revered artistic genius ; her father Ustad Vilayat Khan. She lives only music and does it with meditative honesty and is highly respected in the music world for it. She has trained hundreds of children in the past decades and out of her personal savings has given scholarships to the ones who needed it. We all seek one another's support in making a difference to the young lives who truly deserve it, in either forms - monetarily or by just identifying and selecting young talent from around the world, whom we train.
