Zimbabwe is a new favourite in southern Africa! Very friendly, very safe, but also very expensive. The people of Zim are great, and eager to help in any way they can which made us feel welcome and very well taken care of.
We booked most things here: www.zimparks.org.zw/national_...
Just remember to follow up on emails if you dont get a reply within a few days. Forgetting to reply is a thing in Zimbabwe and Botswana, so book everything well in advance! Everything is handled through email which is silly, but it is what it is in Africa!
And Antelope park near Gweru is a perfect place to stay in between those longer stays in the bush. Very well kept, fast wifi and excellent facilities + you can do a variety of activities there.
Roads are terrible! Be wary of sneaky deep potholes!

WHO AM I
🙋🏼‍♂️ I´m Daniel Bryn, a RU-vidr, adventurer, photographer and ex engineer from Oslo, Norway. I lost my job as an engineer in 2016. Lucky me I guess! Saw that as an oportunity to trod up my own path in the world. That led to making videos, some freelance photography, building passive income etc. It has all been, and still is, in the pursuit of living the best life I can live on my terms with passive income building my own thing with cameras!

So good to know you were in my country. I live in Bulawayo, a stone's throw from Matopos. Park fees are ridiculously expensive and it's true they are shooting themselves in the foot. The problem is the US dollar. Zimbabwe is still suffering from a battsred economy so can't compete in price and quality with neighboring countries. Glad you enjoyed your stay and keep up with your beautiful photography.

Loved it in Zim, thanks a bunch. And yes, the park fees.... Wed easily come back as often as in Bots, but wowzer... kills the budget, which is such a shame. We had coffee in Bulawayo before Matopos! In any case Zim is on the top nature wise, hope something changes so we can come back more often! Thanks for watching. What is it like to live there by the way? In whatever line of work you do...

@@DanielBryn what I can definitely say about Zimbabwe is that it is an absolutely beautiful country with beautiful people. People that will go out of their way to help you and even more so when they know you are not from here. Living in Zimbabwe has different standards. If you're a villager living the simple life, on subsistence farming you're okay. You'll enjoy the simple life. With modernisation however, most Zimbabweans shy away from this simplistic lifestyle and want to live and work in the city. And that's where the problems start. A terrible economy with no jobs doesn't make it conducive. Simply put, its a lovely country to live in if you have lots of money (rich uncle's inheritance of $6 000 000 would definitely work) or you have a steady income ($3k per month is doable) you'll enjoy living the country. Most Zimbabweans earn far far less than that but we get by and keep being happy. I worked as a chef (actually did my internship in Switzerland) but with an economy this bad, that work couldn't sustain me. I now teach online. I love photography and filmmaking. I remember subscribing to your channel in 2020 when you showcases the Fujifilm xt4 my dream camera at the time. Zimbabwe is expensive (the most expensive country in the region). A lot of us buy our groceries and other needs in bulk outside of the country (South Africa or Botswana for us in Matabeleland due to proximity, Francistown is 200km from Bulawayo, Messina in south africa less that 400km) Our rogue, election stealing, sanctioned government cares not for the people but for lining their pockets and is backed by South Africa's government so isn't going anywhere any time soon. All the issues you listed on the video are governmental issues and can change when the government changes, unfortunately. I don't see the point of hammering toursists with expensive park fees that aren't even in tandem with the facilities offered. Ridiculous!
