@@maiszed i bought a vintage black halter neck dress from a charity story I work at for (no discount) £15. I love thrifting. Tbh I need to stop buying so much clothes tho it’s becoming a problem XD
Wait for the store sales...that is when the garments become resonable. Yes the dress may be out of season, but then you ware it for the next season. Save money, wait for sales, then enjoy the item more because of a good deal.
compared to Zimmerman prices, it IS reasonable. Hence the comparison. Use common sense. This video is about ZIMMERMAN DUPE, NOT "what is good for the average person"
If you can afford buying fast fashion that you'll throw away after a few wears, you can most certainly afford clothing that'll last you years. (Not saying you you, but in general)
@@detroitvinylFast fashion can last years as well if you buy timeless pieces and wash them properly. Never had a problem with my jeans from Uniqlo or Zara and still get compliments 5 years later
@@goodbher9244 even the big companies are using cheap methods to make their clothing etc. They may use high-quality fabrics but in so many cases they are made by people who aren't paid much
@@goodbher9244 but I agree with you, I making my own clothes for almost 2 years now and that is waaay cheaper to maintain. + you make clothing that fits yourself
Coming from an immigrant family, I would never buy clothings for that amount of money, even if I can afford it. I would feel guilty about the things I could do to help someone with 200€. 😢
🇿🇦Forever new has beautiful clothing and I agree the sowing is top notch but they use a lot of polyester. If you need an occasional dress, it’s perfect but it’s not a store for everyday pieces. In SA I would say it priced similar to Zara
I LOVE EVER NEW! ll the dresses I gor from them are cotton or linen 😄 the quality is good and I love the patterns as majority of fun dresses i see in stores are all polyester, however ever new has so many cool patterns in natural fibres 😊
Although I don't have the budget for these dresses I still think the prices are fair and reasonable bc of the quality of the dresses (even more reasonable if it's an ethical brand :) )
Fave dress store. Quality natural fiber dresses, excellent style, not cheap but you’re paying for what you get. Most dresses are designed for tall people so I end up returning stuff. They have petite as well. I’d still go back and shop there
Wow, I didn't realise it was in BTs. What shop is it priced like, zara, massimo dutti, & other stories etc? Must check it out the next time I'm in Dublin.
Well that sucks.. I used to be very small (A) and since I’ve gotten older I’m now at a DDD/F depending on the brand. I hate shopping for clothing now because I can never find anything that fits me properly.
It’s just my style, but still out of my price range, but I have enough dresses, anyway, just bought 3 more because I couldn’t stop myself and now I JUST NEED TO STOP SHOPPING, I HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF. But idk how, whenever I try, I fail. Hopefully one day I will manage.
Forever New quality is *Chef’s Kiss”. I get mine usually during sale around $100 or less. In the India and Australia the sales are even crazier. I snagged 2 gown for $60 dollars each.
Hi Jennifer. I’m from Australia. I would love you to check out brands that we have here like Goelia, Country Road and R.M Williams. Would love to know your thoughts!
Real. People don’t realize that if a garment is lasting you 5+ years you can afford to buy a few a year, also, no need to have new clothes every month or for every new occasion and that only became common bc of exaggerated consumerism. Yes there’s a lot of people who can’t afford it but they’re probably working 10+ hour shifts instead of watching youtube shorts about fashion and complaining lol
@@Chee235 it is reasonable, stop buying 10 $20 plastic dresses and buy one nice one that you’ll take care of, then in 6 months buy another one. Ppl who are broke are constantly shopping and buying crap that they’ll throw out instead of investing in actual pieces
@@jsvilhena facts, if people bought clothes like how we used to, fast fashion wouldn’t be a problem. You’re supposed to save up and buy what you need and take care of it, not shop once a month for garbage that you’re going to throw in a landfill. People don’t want to admit that they’re spending just as much on fast fashion as they would on fewer nice pieces. And they act like having in style items is a human right or something 😆
You guys sound insane saying 200 Is affordable. Completely completely out of touch. That’s why people buy fast fashion you wash them to save for months to be able to buy 1-3 nice quality dresses
Can you please review OLD NAVYS LINEN clothes their dresses skirts and sets?! I hear everyone raving about it but it's too good to be true (price wise).
Yes, however compare to their prices, the Forevernew clothings are not good enough since they are all make from polyester fabrics. Rarely see natural fabrics.
Did you just say a $300 dress is very reasonable? I mean I guess in comparison to $1000 but still quite expensive but I guess it’s not slave labour making them. At least I’d hope
$300 for a dress is extremely reasonable. You need to remember that you are paying for the fabric, the thread, and the labor of the person making it. How long do you think it takes to make a dress? People who buy cheap clothes are either stupid/ignorant or choose to ignore the fact that those companies are using child slavery or cheap labor in other countries.
People got used to buying shit dresses for 20 dollars at places like shein and Zara. If you want quality dresses that you don't intend to throw out after 2 wears, then yeah expect to spend like 300 dollars. I'd rather buy one quality dress for 300 then 10 shitty trendy dresses for 30 each.
@@gavgavland it’s far from insane for a well-made garment with lots of details in good fabric. You get what you pay for. I buy most of my clothes secondhand because I don’t want to pay that much, but I appreciate that someone paid that price for a lovely garment in the first place so that I could enjoy it afterwards 😊.
@@HD-ol1mcYou appreciate it, but you’re still getting it secondhand which would lead one to believe that you don’t want to pay $300 for a dress either.
I love forever new and basically my whole wardrobe is from the brand but sometimes they are hit and miss too. Unaligned buttons, threads coming out of stitches and a very obvious looking polyester. It's mostly their most expensive products the ones that are consistently good; averaged priced not so much
I love Ever New too. But I would suggest avoiding any tops/dresses that has elastic straps. The elastic straps are pretty inconsistent in height because of the stretch and the weight of the dress I assume. I found a lot of them like that in store. I was pretty disappointed because the dress I wanted was very pretty with really nice fabric too.
I used to work there after working at a few designer boutique and the inferior quality was obvious, everything I bought was destroyed after a season of wear (a LOT of pilling, split seams). If do buy from there, buy on sale. It is overpriced for what it is.
We don't have Zimmerman in India but Forever New has been here since long time. They are both my favorite brands and I never made the connection that they are similar. I always, always check new collection at Forever New even though they are out of my budget as I am currently SAHM. I have a beautiful impeccably made dress and a top from Forever New which I treasure.
I wear both brands but the fitting of Forever New is really bad compared to Zimmermann. Zimmermann dresses last long but of course you’re paying way more.
Forever new is so great! Theres a store near my house and everytime I go there I have to stop myself from going inside. They have some really nice dresses, but they're expensive so 🥲
Forever new about 5 or 7 years ago was not this good. But the past few years i have been obsessed. I cant walk past a shop without wanting to try something on.
As someone who usually only wears black and statement colors, It’s always funny to me to see what normies think are bold colors. Yellow, blue, and a floral with a white base are bold now? Well damn, I’ve been wearing crazy bold colors my whole life.
Zimmermann and Forever New. Both Australian labels. We are only proud of one, even if we can't afford it. Even thrifting, I see plenty of FN and won't touch any of it. It's crap quality and terribly made. I won't pay op shop prices, let alone $200 for their crap. I dream of finding Zimmermann
Reasonable? In this economy, here I thought a $100 dress was splurging. But in honesty finding good quality clothes with good stitching and fabrics is getting scarce. I’m getting to the stage in life where I’m starting to invest in quality timeless pieces that can last until a grand or great grandaughter one day goes through my “vintage” collection and can still wear them.
Not really reasonable tbh. I am from Australia and only buy FN (curvy) when on sale. Clothes are mostly of good quality but one of the formal dress I purchased recently was a let down. Zimmerman is great as well but definitely expensive.
It's really nice quality clothes, poly isn't automatically a negative since esp if the price is like 10% of Zimmerman but the quality still holds up (not thin, no static, not scratchy, doesnt get misshapen easily, etc)
@@dustmite7558 it’s still not great for the environment regardless of the craftsmanship. It can also still make you sweaty and smelly since even high end poly doesn’t breathe. For these prices I can find a silk, linen or cotton dress.
