just wanted to say thank you Legend, I've enjoyed your content for years now and always been in awe of your ability to 'macro-devise' decks and strategies, you are truly a legend my friend
first, also just wanna say that i once went on this super mega legenVD draft video watching binge.. stayed up all night and day watching all the drafts videos in a row. I don't know what happened to me but it was fun
Amazing timing, my partner just spent all her wilds on a Dina sacrifice deck and a Landfall deck, neither were quite good enough but this deck essentially combines the two :D She's gonna love it!
Awesome! I've been hoping and waiting for a Zimone and Dina deck since the set released and its finally here! I've had so much trouble adjusting the deck and balancing card draw, interaction, ramp, sacrifice synergies like blood artist, combos and finishers. Now I get to compare your list to mine. Now I wait patiently for an Omnath deck.
From what I have seen, a good way to play Omnath is multicolor legends, with trying to stick as many tri-color cards that you can potentially draw with Omnath and make a variety of colored mana
This deck is so gosh darn fun, and seems to dodge the cgb hell queue. I just played a mirror match where me and the opponent had turn 5 zendikars roil, turn 6 Lilliana, turn 7 beledros, having both obviously copied your deck. Unfortunately we couldn't Kill each other, the game took ages and i had to concede to do the school run
Match 3 reminded me of the last game I won last week: Oppos: "how come you always have answers in hand?" Me: "Guys, I draw 4 cards each turn since turn 3..."
Was Midnight Reaper also a consideration? I generally consider it a better Morbid Opportunist, but it makes you lose life and it doesn't trigger for tokens, so maybe that was a concern?
Absolutely steamrolls OP in first match... " that was a decent showcase of all our synergies" no gloating, just pure great deckcrafting and gameplay. Thats why this guy is the best out here.
@@洋怪先生 Your name is fitting, haha. I'm a CGB fan and I just don't really blame the guy; Mythic standard is brain numbing rn. But I def see how you can get tiring of his salt. LegenVD is such a wholesome contrast.
For anyone wondering why Immerwolf keeps flashing while a nightbound werewolf is in play. That's because daybound/nightbound permanents are transformed even "faster" than state-based actions. I'm guessing the game checks those when a player would get priority. When that happens the game tries to flip all nightbound permanents but Immerwolf says they can't flip. I hope they patch it soon because that sound sure is annoying. From the CR book: 702.145c Any time a player controls a permanent that is front face up with daybound and it’s night, that player transforms that permanent. This happens immediately and isn’t a state-based action.
As someone who can never remember the names for the 3-color combination, I appreciate you explicitly saying which 3 colors the deck is. It might seems like a small thing, but I think things like that go a long way to help make the game more accessible.
Oh hell yes! I made this deck shortly after they were revealed befor the set officially dropped! Im a fan of ANYTHING Sultai and I already had mono blue draw 2 deck in EDH with Minn. So I ended up fusing together my Sultai lands matter deck with my draw 2 deck and it goes brrrrrr lmao xD I can't wait to get home from work and make this deck! You're the best, Luca! Thank you for all you do!
Jolrael fills me with such nostalgia. She was one of the first rares I got when I started playing Arena that I pulled four of from packs, so I built a Simic deck around her. Having Uro around was nice too!
My fear is that a bigger format will mean fewer new cards have a shot at making an impact in Standard, since the power level of decks will generally be higher. One way to ensure new cards make it into various decks is accelerating power creep, which is not the healthiest solution long term. More viable archetypes is a good thing but there's definitely a fine balance between power level and archetype diversity. Undoubtedly these changes will have to be paired with additional bans in Standard, which also isn't a consumer friendly approach. If executed well it could be a positive change, but for now I remain skeptical. As a content creator focusing mainly on Arena I'm also biased since it's more interesting when the format gets shaken up more often.
@@LegenVD Thanks for your feedback, ever-valuable content creation, & dynamic efforts. My own opinion: Ugh, just what we needed; another year of Fable of the Mirror-Breaker, Bankbuster, Graveyard Trespasser, Bloodtithe Harvester, Thalia, etc.…Perhaps I'll explore other formats or entirely other games to avoid the boredom...For me, this change makes me want to play something else...
Same, unfortunately the architecture of the software just can't really handle more than 2 players. I would 100% pay a monthly subscription for what your are suggesting.
Omg, yes. Honestly how haven't WotC successfully pitched a software product concept like that to Hasbro? Could be a money printing machine with how popular EDH is these days - just look at the commitment to printing EDH viable paper cards in recent memory. Seems a logical step to just digitalize it and monetize the shit out of it. How many of us are active Arena players AND paper players, now that it's possible again?
I don't know if you can or how much better this deck would be if you add tamiyo's journal and ulvenwald mysteries for the added draw from the clue tokens and the additional 1/1 human tokens from ulvenwald mysteries when you sacrifice a clue token!
Thanks for the insanely fun deck! Played like 25 games today with this and had a blast! Gixian Puppeteer worked so well every time I got it out. With the new Aftermath mini-set out, would you consider creating a standard deck around; Deification, Spark Rupture & Luxior Giada Giada's Gift? It seems super unique and possibly viable now with the 2 Aftermath Enchantment Planeswalker cards. Seems like it would be a cool project. Cheers
Yes!! Got them out of a pack recently and really really wanted to build them as I like sacrifice decks and also really like the colour combination! Looking forward to this one!! :D
Awesome. I built this deck immediately and was waiting to see someone else's take on it. You're very good at deck building. You included quite a few cards that are amazing for the deck which I didn't even think of using! Made a few tweaks to my build based on some of your picks, going to see if I have better luck with it now.
I went more lifedrain synergies over landfall. Z and D are a well balanced commander that can support several archetypes without devolving into goodstuff piles
The cost of including a colorless land is quite high and if you're discarding to hand size you're probably doing ok. It's a good example of a win-more card that will cost you more games compared to the ones where it's beneficial. There are decks where it's nice to have, but I don't think this is one of them.
