Majority of people who are saying Iniesta is better have not seen Zidane in his prime. That guy destroyed the mighty Brazil in 2006 WC. Iniesta surely is one of the best midfielder of all-time, just look at the way he passes and controls the game, the way he opens the field exceptional but Zidane was something different, he used to play with the defenders like maldini, nesta, puyol, cafu, lucio and many more.

They are both genius. I love to see Iniesta play, but for me, Zidane is unique. His moving like nobody else, he's like a ballet dancer, it's pure gold.

I have to say they're both legendary, I feel mutual feelings for them and what they have done for the sport. I couldn't really compare them against each other but instead agree that both of them and Xavi Hernandez are three of the most elegant and glorious players to grace the pitch.

Zizou can be emulated, just look at Pogba. Iniesta is in a world of his own, there's no one in the world today that plays like him, it's just so elegant and beautiful.

People are so simple, Zidane is a monster of a player and is one of the greatest to step on to the field ever but let's not kid ourselves for a second that Iniesta is not on this mans level. There are two reasons why Zizou is considered a better player but it doesn't make it true. 1) Zidane was a more individual/selfish player than Iniesta. That is a fact, and not in a bad way. Zidane was more of a player that put a team on his shoulder and did more for himself where as Iniesta is about the collective. Barcelona is as successful as it has been not due to Messi's genious but due to Iniesta and Xavi's unselfishness. They did the job that was required of them, but if Iniesta was half as selfish(again I don't mean selfish in a bad way) he would be among the greats EASILY such is is level of skill and poise on the ball. 2) Zidane was/is more marketable. Zidane was a product of the streets, he brings that flair and fire to the pitch with his roulettes, step overs, flicks and tricks....

I’m a Barca fan for many years due to their beautiful game, it is poetry in motion. Andres Iniesta is a great player and perhaps among the top 10 midfielders of all time. However, Zidane is a step above Iniesta. Xavi, Socrates, are two other midfielders I would love to see them on field. We make our choices and respect the choice of others. After all it is a game to be enjoyed.

I want to take this time to apologise to all the kids of today because you never had the chance to witness the phenom that is Zidane in his prime. Iniesta is great but Zidane cannot be compared. You could be watching the game but your eyes would be glued to Zidane because you knew he would do something special and he always did.

Zidane hands down. The guy was a threat to his opponents and could cut through defences easily without receiving the ball from a through pass by his fellow teammates. Yes Iniesta has won more trophies but it's not all about that. Zidane was a star at any club he played for. Real Madrid and Juventus, also France NT.

Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo, Zidane all are up there in the highest level a midfielder can achieve. Yes, different of them are good at doing different things. Zidane is much more famous than the other three just because Messi and Ronaldo wasn't there at that period. Never before 2 players of such incredible talent dominated the world football for so long time. The only reason why other three is not as famous as zidane.

Watching football since the mid 90's and no one could take the place of zizou in my eyes, although iniesta and pirlo came close. If you would ask someone who is following football since the mid 80's they would consider someone else the greatest, its all about the era.

Don't use the ballon d'or argument against Iniesta, because I guarantee you that if zidane played in this era of cr7 and messi dominating, he wouldn't have won that ballon d'or. Iniesta deserved it but unfortunately goals are the focal point of deciding the ballon d'or these days. Everything else zidane achieved, Iniesta achieved more of.

I started watching football a bit late in my life. And I witnessed Iniesta's majestic displays from 2008-12 in Spain colors and for almost a decade in Barca colors. I think that you can't really judge a player based on Video tapes in RU-vid. So, all a football fan can really say is "(player name) is the best player I have ever seen" and not "(player name) is the best player ever". Its difficult to compare two players from different eras either. Zidane may not have won a single Ballon D'Or in today's time due to Messi and Ronaldo's heavy influence. I respect both Zidane and Iniesta but unfortunately I only witnessed Iniesta live, so my vote will go to him automatically. I would have made a better judgement had I seen both the players.

If you appreciate art. You wont even get to compare these two players. They both brought a very rare type of art to the game. And had unbelievable control on the ball and game and excellent vision. Both didnt rely on speed and strength to beat a defender. Both could get out of tight press. Iniesta is my favourite current player but as an individual, Zizou for me. Iniesta in both Barcelona and Spain had teams around him who were expected to succeed and when they struggled he struggled along with them i.e Spain in 2014. Zizou on the other in 06 when in the twilight of his illustrious career took a very mediocre French team on his shoulders and some incredible things bringing them all the way to the world cup final.

Por favor, Zidane entra en otra liga, es un jugador que puede romper defensas por si solo. Con mucha más técnica, más impredecible, y con mucho más gol y pegada. Iniesta veía muy bien el juego y colocaba pases perfectos, pero jugaba más retrasado, y en un equipo que funcionaba bien en conjunto, lo que le facilitaba toda la tarea. Es más fácil filtrar pases con Xavi y Busquet al lado. Con Alvez picandote, y arriba con Messi+ Henry o Zlatan. Sin mencionar que el Barcelona agarro al fútbol en una época donde los otros grandes clubes estaban de recambio.
