Ziptrek Eco Tours current check in location during the summer season is at the base of Excalibur Gondola in Whistler Village.
Whilst waiting for our tour to start we saw a black bear under the Fitzsimmons Chair on Whistler. Whistler is home to about 50 black bears!
Once we were all geared up and had our first safety briefing, we walked over to the Whistler Gondola and took the gondola to the first stop, Olympic Mid Station. I also wanted to mention, that if you did want to “borrow” one of Ziptrek's GoPro's because you didn't have your own, it's free to rent their GoPro, you just have to buy the card afterwards from them.
We did a bit of a walk through the meadows and forest to get to our first zipline of the tour. The first zipline was the highest and one of the longest on our Eagle Tour.
Ziptrek guides did a great job of the tour, explaining how we can help our planet, how the Town of Whistler and Ziptrek are doing their parts.
Have you ever been ziplining before? Leave me a comment in the comment box below! I'd love to hear where you've ziplined in the past.
After the third zipline you come to a “treetop” portion of the course.
On the Eagle Tour there is a series of five ziplines that you complete. The guides also did an amazing job keeping us safe, clipping us in when needed and readjusting helmets and harnesses before every zipline.
We had an amazing time with Ziptrek Eco Tours and highly recommend checking them out if you ever come to Whistler.
Fairmont Chateau Whistler is a luxury, 5 star hotel located slopeside on Blackcomb Mountain.
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler has 519 rooms, walking into the lobby you always feel like you've been transformed to a mountain lodge.
We were upgraded to a Deluxe Slopeside View with Two Queen Beds for this stay. The rooms feel very cozy and comfortable and feature Keurig coffee makers and kettles in this room category. In the bathroom in this room we have a bathtub, hand shower and rainfall shower with Le Labo Rose 31 amenities. I love when they customize my amenities with my name. It just shows that Fairmont as a brand really cares about even the little things.
I had my Fairmont Fit package in the room when I arrived, which is an included amenity for Fairmont President's Club Members. It's great when you forget or just don't want to pack extra gym gear when travelling. There are also many activities included with your stay. They provide you with a daily newsletter of what's happening at the resort daily. It's so nice to see that their yoga classes and other activities have now restarted!
As it was my aunt's birthday, the Fairmont Whistler even had a lovely cake delivered to the room for her, it was delicious!
We were starving at this point, especially after ziplining, so we headed to The Mallard Lounge in the Fairmont Chateau Whistler for some nachos and some local Whistler Brewing Grapefruit Ale.
Afterwards, we headed to the pool for a bit and relaxed.
For dinner, we ate at Fairmont Chateau Whistler's Wildflower Restaurant. The Wildflower is open for breakfast and dinner and they were featuring a 3 Course Dinner for $49 when we were there.
I started with my favourite drink which is an Empress 1908 Gin and Tonic.
Dinner was absolutely fabulous and really recommend coming here for breakfast or dinner as the food really is delicious.
Early the next morning, I headed to the Health Spa on my own for a few laps in the pool before it got busy. I went down at 6:30am and had the place to myself for the first hour pretty well. It's so nice to see that the covid protocols have been lifted and many of the services of the hotel are back up and running normally.
