Poppet Stitcher makes decayed zombies amazing lol

Been trying to make Dimir zombies work... but this looks way more fun. Normal zombies are just too fair. =p

Was cooking while I was watching this, occasionally just listening with my back turned and thinking to myself, "Ah, Seth, always mispronouncing things, but 'Champion of the Perishe*d*' sure is a weird one. No. Wait. That's a new card." Over and over again.

Probably my favorite deck on the this channel in the past...3 years? 4 years? It has been a LONG time since I enjoyed an MTG video this much, this deck is so fantastic!

Since you're already splashing blue for negate i would add poppet stitcher and malevolent hermit somewhere. Also you should attack with your decayed zombies any time you know you're going to sacrifice them to an instant speed effect.

You don't need to full control with decayed zombies, simply setting a stop works aswell.

Tbf deadly dispute, the treasure ghoul and the 3 drop dwarf that makes treasure is 12 green sources for a 5 drop with a single pip.

Once again I am mystified at how Seth manages to queue against all these different decks while I play against nothing but Goldspan Dragon all day.

Just a suggestion if you're splashing blue specifically to counter alrunds epiphany, rather than negate, test of talents would work wonders

I've used this similar strategy with Tend the Pests on the big 4 drops from Strixhaven, then next turn meathook for 1 to kill my pests and drain the opponent out. Super fun deck! Love the video SO!

I played a scute swarm opponent last night and massacred them after they had gone off and had over 100 scutes on the board. Seeing all the triggers go off and gaining that much life was amazing to see lol

40:15 I believe this is a missed lethal with a Hive of the Eye-Tyrant attack. Opponent can block 5 damage at most (Hive + 1 non-menace creature) and exactly 6 gets through.

I love Lolth a lot. I'm a free player on Arena so I'm building decks very slowly and only playing best of 1 but she's very good in my orzhov witch deck. I wish we had a non mythic blood artist like Bastion but grinding out creature decks and winning with a big starnheim unleashed is quite fun. (I can't beat Izzet epiphany but best of 1 is mostly creature decks) I buy a lot of actual cards so I'm not paying for digital ones too.

Meathook Massacre one of my favorite cards in a while I think. It's versatile, and you could even play it in a bounce deck would be interesting.

36:30 Lair of the Hydra is bugged, lol. It has been reported a lot since it released, but updates keep breaking arena so I'm sure its low on their priority totem pole.

These decks lately have really made it obviously how painfully stacked the mythic rare slots in MID are. Meathook Massacre, all the Adversaries, Wrenn and Seven, Arlinn, probably Teferi, Poppet Stitcher, Moonveil Regent, Hostel. Absolutely brutal for Arena players to have this many playable cards at mythic level.

As a black centric semi-control, some-times aristocrat kinda guy, Skeletal swarming has been an absolute nightmare whenever accidentally tap out in Ft1s. I do suggest if you wanted a "cleaner" pure black deck you could always run Feed the Swarm, since that's still a kill spell AND hits enchantments (sorcery speed does hurt a bit) and like usual any enchantment/artifact is Black's achille's heel. Honestly always love Meat Hook Massacre not just being a scalable board wipe (also kills indestructibles too) but this deck really proving my dreams truth of running an aristocrat friendly board wipe. At the same time it's also way too much seemed to be the entire foundation of the deck (no real cheap blood artists out in standard, maybe a Dreadhound if you're really desperate). And yeah the whole "welp I can play my entire low mana hand but if my board is wiped without a proper card draw or sac-draw I'm gonna sit around for like 3 or 4 turns" is the real pain of aristocrats. Some times it just feels like a real in-efficient aggro when it's going bad (at best you can go tall on Perished or maybe sneak in Ebon but also with how creature-centric the meta is it just lacks good ways to break through), but when you get your engine running you got an almost impenetrable wall with meathook not just wiping but threatening more damage for every time the opponent tries to kill your wall of creatures. Really kinda wish there was some more "true" mono-black way to take down either control or enchants or really any good artifact/colorless splash instead of just "pour in 4 negates", maybe a duress which is still kinda eh if it slows you too far down either in tap mana or just a bad late game draw, but that's the black life I guess. This is still the dream deck I wanna build when I grind out a whole new set of wild cards (tho that's if the Nov expansion doesn't add any other new fun black cards).

I'm not sure about the Skullport Merchant. There's the 1/3 that lets you draw a card a turn whenever another creature dies on the same spot on the curve. There are plenty of ways to sac stuff already, and you can go off so early that not spending the mana for the draw might be really good. Maybe I'll go 2 and 2 and give it a try.

Watching control die is probably my favorite thing in magic lol.

Here's my idea for a black deck it's called infinite combo black and it focuses on the infinite life and destruction combo with exquisite blood and any when you gain life opponent loses life triggers

Not sure I'll get to watch the whole series. Did Hostile Hostel ever have its moment? I can't think of a better deck for it, but so far it looks way worse than a swamp or another creature land.

If you’re splashing blue anyways why not use poppet stitcher instead of jadar? You can chain multiple copies of village rites and deadly disputes with it, plus it gives you an additional wincon in the late game with the factory. It also just seems better in the deck than ebon death

8 sac spells, 4 meathooks and then a lot of 4 and 5 drops(like 10) since advesary is pretty bad in this deck on 2. As well as your 3 drop only really being a sac outlet, and your 1 drop being a snowball zombie. Cool idea but needs a lotta work to work as an aristocrats deck.

I can tell you didn’t really play AFR limited based on your feeling of dread about Skeletal Swarming. You just need to leave back a pair of blockers and Skeletal Swarming becomes a 5-mana-do-nothing card.

the algorithms for arena are terrible. why are magic players flocking to this system ? Wizards has built their program specifically to screw the players while making them heaps on money. Such a predatory system they have built....
