Today we're going to take a look at the current ZP Microphone line-up. Custom made microphones from Belgium. ZP Microphones has a history of modding microphones but started making their own high-end microphones in 2019 using premium components such as NOS Paper Oil Capacitors and their own capsules.

They all sound good in my opinion, they each have their own distinct sound but good nonetheless. You can’t go wrong with any of these microphones. A good way of deciding is going with whichever resonates with you and compliments your purpose, factoring your overall budget. Other than that you’re good to go.

Wow never heard of these! I really like the finishes. Not sure about the cursive font branding.. But they sound pretty good. Unique voicing

Thank you Chris for reviewing these. I've read a bit about them but there is almost no demos on the whole internet. This is probably the first time I didn't like a mic in your voice. The Corti is probably the worst and the ZP800G has nothing similar to the Sony and we have heard your voice through the GAP and the WA sounding wonderful. Would love to see the internals and the components, because the bodies are the same as other cheap mics which can be found in Aliexpress and the ZP800G the same as the Recording Tools MC-900.

Hello Leo, nice to see you commenting as always , to clear up : the zp800g body is provided by oktava microphones that also provides to rec-tools, and the corti bodies are straight from the same company group that provides the bodies to also almost 80% of microphones market Like blue , telefunken mxl neumann. That explains there are neumanns for sale on alie express m149 / u87ai but they are defitnitly not the same and sound totally different because of the other components and audio path inside, this is the Same case for the ZP microphones Brand , that come with our own capsules and unique components and audio paths made in Belgium but use existing bodies that are strong and resilient and do the job perfect, we sorry to hear your quite not A fan of our sound signature and happy Christian offered you many other good choices, we hope you have some great music to share with us on your channel also. Have A fantastic weekend Greetings ZP-Team

I have gained some personal experience with the Chandler TG microphone using different preamps (singing & acoustic guitar). By chance I have just got the opportunity to get a Corti Master One. I never heard about PZ mics before though I know many mics. It will arrive in a few days. I have investigated your sound examples very carefully. Seems to be the ZP mics (Corti Master One & 800G / I don't like the Flagship) sound way better than the Chandler Mic. No matter if on acoustic guitar or vocals: the Chandler sounds "bigger" but it has a somehow superficial (in front), wide and smeary tone which lacks some kind of depth/dimension (I got the same impression trying their Germanium Preamp). The ZP mics seem to be more focused - not that much "in front" than the TG but with another dimension..maybe just different. The Corti Master One really comes close to the vintage U87 as I noticed listening to you singing through the old U87 as well. For sure this is just a first impression - but I will try it out on my own. It's really helpful having your reviews and singing (mostly in the same key and vocal range which is beneficial as well when you are comparing microphones ). It is also very helpful that you demonstrate the mics in the music as well as solo. Thanks!!!

Thank you for the video. IMO they don't bring anything in the overcrowded market of microphones.

Hello Christian, I have one personal question: If you had the ability to swap a Chandler TG for a ZP800g or Corti Flagship - would you do that? I mean when you could just keep one mic and you get the offer to give your Chandler TG away and get a ZP microphone instead. I am in that situation. I am just interested in your honest personal opinion. Thanks!

Why does the Corti Flagship and Masterone look identical Neumann's TLM 107? Neither microphone seems to be cloning the capsules or the circuitry or the sound, so what's up with the body shape being so perfectly cloned? I have to figure out where Neumann is building the TLM 107 body and screens at to see if something weird is going on. The TLM 107 is a fairly unique in it's appearance. (The only reason I care; online companies selling counterfeit mics. Neumann TLM mics are among the most counterfeit mics being sold.)

@@zpmicrophones Are you guys having your bodies made at the same facility Sennheiser is making the Neumann bodies at?
@zpmicrophones
@zpmicrophones Год назад
These are new microphones designs and the bodies are very different from the tlm 107 in size function and structural frame and body thickness and assembly method . and only share A partly similar silhouette, nothing more. We chosen this body for quality and appropriate size to fit pio components. Best of luck with your quest.

@@zpmicrophones That's not what I asked. I asked if your microphone bodies and Sennheiser/Neumann mic bodies are made in the same factory. (You're taking my questions as an attack on your company. I'm not blaming you for anything.)

@@zpmicrophones Why did you delete your first comment where you said people were bringing in Fake Neumann mics for you to make sound better?

The voicing of the flagship is probably the least appealing. But this is the first 800g homage that I've genuinely liked.

Hey! That's the weird thing. I enjoyed the FS the most while recording but now I do feel that the Master one and 800G feels a bit better. I'd like to give the 800G another spin . It also allows you to eat the mic so I'll see if I can test it some more 😊 Thanks for watching 🙏

@@Christian_svedin I'll have to listen again mate. One comparison that really interests me would be the new beautiful GA251 alongside the MicParts Platinum 251. So far, I like both even if one means that I'd have to build it, the savings vs the sound seems a very frugal purchase
@Christian_svedin
@Christian_svedin Год назад
@@gmichaelhall cool! I have a friend who is launching a new 251 mic. He is very knowledgeable and it will be very affordable. It will not have the looks like GAP but it did sound very good on the examples he send me. I will probably demo it on my channel 👍

@@Christian_svedin that's awesome man! I look forward to hearing your assessment of this new 251. Shame about the aesthetics, looks are paramount to a successful replica microphone launch, it cannot be stated emphatically enough really. Sound counts for sure but to overlook the appearance of the microphone is a huge risk
@Christian_svedin
@Christian_svedin Год назад
@@gmichaelhall well it's going to look good but to replicate an vintage original you need to produce custom molds and such and I've understood that that is extremely costly. So there is definitely a reason many boutique mics end up in 4-6k range
