Bushings on steering are destroyed. 110,000 hard miles so far. Trans seals probably need to be changed out. If you go any bigger than 33s I recommend a regear to 4.10 or 4.56
Hey there I've seen a few of your videos I'm a fellow ZR2 man I'm about to throw 37s on mine I've got the 4-in BDS plus the 1.5 body plus a 1.5 level kit I'm wondering if I can get away without spacers on a stock wheel?? Currently running the 1.5 wheel spacer if I take that out of the equation I think my tire will have less chance of catching on the back of the fender. If you have any input it be much appreciated!!
I really love these stock rims too. Very strong, cheap, lightweight aluminum that just works. No need for high dollar gimmicky rims when I'm just going destroy them 👍
What program are you using to reprogram the computer for the tire size and gears on a min-max Colorado? I have a diesel '20 Bison and want to do the AEV 35 kit, but have no idea what program to use to reprogram so the speedometer is fixed. Nice rig!
My experience with HD Diesel supply in Canada (they ship) has been excellent. Your diesel tuner can, or should know how... you will need a new transmission tune i think... but you'll need to do it again if/when you change the differential gears. So I would do it all at once, and tell your tuner your gear and tire sizes and do some GPS readings or whatever other info they need. They can send you an email and it has the file in it and you just load it on the truck yourself, very quick and easy process.
No lift needed for 37s. Check out my video "how to fit 37s" you just have to chop away a lot. For the 40s I had to do a combination of the 4" BDS lift and the Bajakits along with chopping out the wheelwells.
Wondering how you're getting such good gas mileage? I'm guessing there's been some mods to exhaust, intake, etc.? This is the first video of yours I've seen, but I sure would love 20mpg in my ZR2! Duramax?
Yes, some mods for sure😆 but it's mostly the regear to 4.56s that gets me the fuel mileage. Plus driving style. I take it pretty easy on the road.. offroad is where I use the skinny pedal more👍
If this was a gas rig you be getting like 5 mpg even with the gears and tune haha. It the only thing I don't like on my zr2 I just got. 18 mpg when driving it like a grandma
Loved my Zr2, but the engine went at 65k. Had to go back to Toyota. Went 280k on my last Tacoma with no issues before going to the Zr2. Hope better luck for you!
@@MrLilBoy2 I'm sure it'll be fine. Maybe I got one of the rushed ones. Got 167k on my 2nd Gen Taco. Hope to get as much outta this one. Had to go 4.0. Didn't like the 3rd gen engine when I test drive it. Not same torque band.
That sucks man, I do love the truck I’ve put 32k in just one year and I’ve been really on top of my maintenance but I did consider the taco I just wasn’t a big fan of the seating position. They are great trucks my buddys all have them
