I love this guy. The First person I've seen who basically says all the things I've always thought about Facebook. Thank you, sir, for 'exposing' Zuckerberg and Facebook for what they really are!

Thank you for sharing! Zucked is my kind of reading... because knowledge is power !!! What's "baffling" more than anything else are parents who post their babies and children's pictures on FB and all other social media sites...?!? The parents are just as ill mannered as the people who own and run social media because they do this without their children's CONSENT. It's shocking how easily people allow their minds to be are colonised... ?!?!

We have all heard stories either from friends or friends of friends where they had talked to someone about, let's say, going on vacation or buying a car. Low and behold, Facebook or Google all of a sudden the next time you get on the web, you have an ad for a vacation or a car. That is NOT a coincidence.

Does that mean FaceBook and Google know when I use RU-vid? Man, I didn't know that. I have been watching a lot of movies lately and I really found strange all the pornographic adds that I have been watching all over the place. Ok! Now I get it. Tks...

Really good book ... but one thing I disagree with Roger McNamee about is online anonymity. I this it is as important as the secret ballot. If the wrong person who can affect someone's life hears them say something they disagree with they can cause havoc. For instance ... I work in tech and ever single CEO of companies I have worked for has always taken the time to try to tell the people in, usually, HIS, company how to vote in Presidential elections. If an employee is seen to go against that it can prejudice managers or the CEO against them. Anonymity is key for any kind of real discussion or democracy.

Facebook, deleted. Instagram, deleted. Don't need it.

Some valid points. Im not sure that FB influenced elections but it certainly hve influence on peoples lives. And ues Im YT and FB addicted LOL.

These Silicon Valley people need to get over themselves.

McNamee is talking about stuff that is still going on - at a lot of different levels. For example, the Bernie Bro phenomenon is taking place right no on a RU-vid channel called "The Hill". "The Hill" is a very slick faux network kind of opinion show hosted by a photogenic duo, Krystal Ball ( if you can believe that name ) and Saagar ???, I forget this last name who pretend to be Progressives. Even though there is not a penny's worth of difference between the actual platforms of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren - every day these two dream up some other nonsensical way to attack Elizabeth Warren, the current front-runner based on some ridiculous made up criterion that the two are almost exactly the same one. Bernie is being used by these groups as a way to sow dissension among Progressives in this way by these kind of networks. So, who is going after all these different media manipulators ... and the thing is the media the world over is all about just blasting out some very rich and powerful people's propaganda - it is not news and it never has been, except that there is some overlap between the propaganda and what is really going on.
