@@diggermeddler1169 It's make sense lmao. Duda plays really well in this tourney, if you check all his games you will found it make sense. I mean i get a hunch that Magnus will struggle against Duda, after i saw most of Duda's games.
@@crashhhhhhh3068 I checked with Stockfish. After the discovered check Magnus can just block with the b pawn and escort the pawn to queen. And if Fedoseev doesn't push the c pawn, then Black king march to win the knight or bishop together with the queen.
I honestly don't think I've laughed harder at a chess game than Magnus zig-zagging the queen from a1 to d2, forcing Fedoseev to keep moving his knight back and forth while he gained ground is dominance in every form of the word
@@arijitdey3154 which world are you living in buddy? The dude is crushing it. He was the only top ten player to make it to the semis and is now the only player to have 2800+ rating. He still outclasses every player in this world by a huge margin
I have seen this game live, with commentary from GM's Daniel Naroditsky and Hou Yifan. Magnus' time management was really phenomenal. He went into really deep and time consuming thinks to bend a small disadvantage into a winning position while Fedoseef tried to move fast to keep time advantage. When they had reached move 40, Magnus had nearly used all of his time. But then they gained addititional time and after considering the situation, it was at that point Fedoseef resigned. That was the real good stuff...
Magus Carlsen in an interview after third place match answered a question on his match yesterday, “I couldn’t focus, the World Cup was going through my mind, I did way too poorly under pressure and need to work on that.”
Wow what an awesome game, I never comment on these videos, but this is just incredible. To pull that off in the World Cup is insane. Reminds me of AlphaZero vs Stockfish
"And it is now as of move 7 we have a completely new game" Magnus should do that more often! Taking guys out of theory and just play chess.. He is crushing!
Yesterday I saw People saying Magnus not worthy of champion & not better than Bobby, as he lost to Duda but I said Nope he is GOAT.....!! Yes he can Squeeze water from Stone...!!🙏🏻👏👏👏
White King: "Help" White pieces: "It's nice that we all got together on these squares, we should hang out more often. Let's have a sleepover, tra la la"
@@blueberryoatmeal4009 You are Awesome!!! And you're double Awesome for liking Chess too! I just did it because blueberries were on sale, and it was a surprisingly good combination together! Made my oatmeal with milk and it was good!
This reminds me of when Magnus lost the semi-final of one of the Champions Chess Tour events and then unleashed hell on Wesley So in the third place play-off. Angry Magnus= best Magnus
It's interesting how in the post-analysis it seems so clear that black was dominant, but watching the coverage live it was not clear at all for quite a few moves after the rook sac. Carlsen was behind on the clock and the eval bar was showing white as favourite. In commentary Naroditsky and Hou Yifan said the eval was probably wrong and Carlsen had compensation for the sac, but they weren't very confident in their assessment and struggled to find how Carlsen would convert his activity advantage. Watching the post-analysis is great but watching in real-time gave me a lot of appreciation for Carlsen's ability to find the win over the board as the GMs in commentary struggled to find it even with engine assistance.
10:10 that king move haha 😂🤣 classic Magnus he's literally just flexing... my goodness that's just brutal. If you didn't know it was Magnus who was playing the game, that move would give it away.
@@ln9296 great. look in any chess database, tell me the percent of wins without castling vs without g4. I will wait Also causation is just strong correlation. Heck even the laws of the universe aren't deterministic
This was more like an Alpha Zero game. A pawn and exchange sacrifice to leave black completely trapped until it desperately tries to give material back and then he goes for the kill.
Magnus played on 3000 level against poor Fedoseev, and on 2700 level against Duda. I have one theory for the causality of the above. Magnus has not been getting a single day off in the tournament, everyone forcing him into tiebreaks. Whereas Duda had an extra day off as he defeated Vidit in classical time format.
Magnus has been hiding his prep and strategies for the world championship but after his loss against Duda de Decided to unlish everything Phenomenal game !!
@@cosmicsapientia2447 why do I keep seeing people like you on the internet.I don't mind you calling me a fanboy but do you have to be impolite and say "shut up" ?

#suggestion: Artemiev vs Nakamura in the Chessable Masters 2021 Day 2 of Semifinals (Aug 4) the final game of the day where he defeated Hikaru by putting the latter in a brilliant zugzwang where Hikaru was unable to use his knight to prevent Artemiev promoting a pawn to queen.
Zugzwang is a German word which basically means, "It is your turn to move, and all of your moves are bad!" There is no "pass" or "skip a move" in chess, so sometimes having to move can lose the game! Zugzwang is a German word which translates to "compulsion to move."
Dvoretsky and Yusopov: "In positions of strategic manoeuvring seek the worst-placed piece. Activating that piece is often the most reliable way of improving your position as a whole."
Masterly control by Carlsen, to an almost embarrassing degree. But it’s very hard to stop, or even delay, a fully loaded runaway freight train - anything it crashes into is just reduced to smithereens, (little tiny tiny twisted pieces of debris…).
