I can’t believe you forgot to mention the most amazing fact about this movie: it wasn’t the only thriller film released in February 2006 about Zzyzx road. Seriously. There’s a film called “Zzyzx” (no road), ALSO set on and filmed on location at the eponymous thoroughfare, ALSO about using its remote location to hide a body, released 21 days earlier. The guy that named it was my Great Grandfather. He started a Helth resort there. It is not a town that is there, but a resort with salt spas, pools, gyms, and housing, as well as the main dining hall. he never charged people to come and use it. he just told people how much it cost to run it and people would give as they wanted. he used the minerals from the salt flats there to make supplements and other spa products.

I was actually one of the 4 other people who saw it. I was going to school down the street and needed something to do for a few hours one night. I used to drive by that road frequently and thought it would be interesting. I guess I’m apart of history!

I (sadly) once lived near Zzyzx road. And I have never heard it called "zeezix", it was always pronounced "zizzix" (two short i's).

I have been down Zzyzx road, and even spent a weekend there. Zzyzx is actually a very cool place that includes a castle, and abandoned railroad, a cult connection, a prehistoric animal, awesome views of the desert, and a fantastic place for star gazing.

A lot of the comments on this video seem to have missed the point that the $30 box office was deliberate and doesn’t account for DVD earnings

I watched that movie at a friend's place a few years back; he collects bad funny movies. However, we both agreed after watching it that this one was the second most BORING low budget movie we'd ever seen. It just felt like we were stuck in limbo

I've been on a few roadtrips driving out on I-15 from Cali to Utah and I always see that sign wondering where that road goes... you have no clue how satisfying this video is.

I once had to get off of Zyzzyx Rd due to an accident on I 15. If you get off and south you will hit Yermo Rd. Where the train tracks go alongside. Unfortunetly the road stops at a dry streambed due to a questionable old bridge. We had to go into the dry bed in a long line of cars and behind semi-truck, which fortunetly made it up the embankment. You could watch trains there if you wanted to...

I've wondered for some time if something like this happened - an intentionally single-theater, very-short-time release *SOLELY* to say "we released it." And this sounds like exactly the kind of movie I expected to have that. For the exact reason I expected.

Every time I drove past this road I’d be like “who the heck name the road like this?”. I’ve been to all 48, Dc, ON and PQ in Canada, but this is the only road in the middle of nowhere that I remember the name of.

I heard, several years ago, that there’s a pay phone at the end of the road and a man sits beside waiting to answer when it rings.

The funniest part about this to me is that since it was aired 7 times, but only 6 people showed up total, that means that there was at least one screening that was completely empty. Like a cinema is just playing a movie on the big screen and literally no one is watching it.

In 1968 in Sacramento, I often listened to "Brother" Curtis Springer's religious/folk-medicine radio show out of Zzyzx, broadcast on the powerful XEMO station in Tijuana. Zzyzx is just off of Interstate 15 about 10 miles South of Baker, California, and is now the home of a "Desert Studies Center" run by a consortium of California universities. In the 1960's it was Brother Springer's desert health spa and religious commune. By coincidence, I was in USAF navigator school at the time, and often flew right over it Much later in 2001-3, I found myself driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on a regular basis. I went past the Zzyzx turnoff many times, but never had the time or the inclination to go see it. The word "Zzyzx" was coined by Brother Springer himself, and was supposed to represent the "last word" in both the English language and also in populist fundamentalist religious communal healthcare. The correct spelling is "Zzyzx," not "Zyzzyx" and it rhymes with "Isaac's," not "physics." But nowadays nobody knows how to spell anyway. What’s interesting about this place is that it has now been converted into the Desert Studies Center, owned by Cal State Fullerton, where students from universities can go stay for classes or for research. I know this because the CSU I go to goes there every fall for our introductory geology course for majors, and I’ve been twice.They let us stay in the old rooms, we all eat in the old mess hall, and we get to explore the grounds where they have a big pond with endangered fish, some abandoned pools, and the hill where everyone goes to at night to look at the stars (among other things;)).

I'm from the midwest, I drove to the end of the road in 1999 and 2019. Not much had changed, there's a little tour area at the end. The second time I did see some mountain goats or whatever they are.
