In the 1980's, there were 2 major voice over guys doing concerts. Bill Young and Joe Kelly, two of the most recognizable voices in radio production.

That's actually "The Beaver 101" out of Russellville, KY. Today, the "Beaver" is still alive and well but at a different frequency and a different selection of music. It's now a country station based in Clarksville, TN. I used to work there!

I remember around 1973 the late Patsy Clines husband, Charlie Dick got a call from Bill Ham here in Nashville saying i have a band you may want to get in on called ZZTop, Charlie said what's a ZZTOP lol

No, The Beaver is a concert production company....Beaver Productions, based out of New Orleans and Memphis. Been in business since 1969. And the voice over was not a radio station employee, but Dallas-based Bill Young of BYP...passed away now.

I remember sound 70 and Beaver ...

@@TonyBeazley Sound 70 was based out of Nashville. They were probably the most prominent production company in the southeast in the 70s and 80s.

Coincidentally, Joe Kelly normally did not do concert commercials in the Nashville market then, because his company, along with Jerry Bryant, AV Deli, did the 103 KDF station ID's and jingles. Just FYI

@TonyBeazley Tony, it sure is. The voice over guy was a DJ on there for a while when "The Beaver" was playing rock. One of the former DJ's on there is currently the Chief Engineer at "Froggy 103.7" in Murray, KY.

I saw ZZ Top/Loverboy in El Paso, TX in June or July, 1981. The first of many Top sightings over the past 30 years. I also saw Loverboy an inordinate amount over the next 4 years, as well. Hey...they were there, I was there...it happened...
