Idk why no one uses them so easy to use. They dont get tangled. I tried using a spinning reel and i coukdnt stop cussing it out. The line kept coming off the reel and tangling up.
theres literally nothing wrong with spincast reels, ppl dont like them bc they wanna be like the "pro fishermen" they see on tv, in reality spincast reels are more reliable than open face reels and easier to use than baitcasters, the only bad thing about a spincast reel is the top heavy feeling of it
Was trying out a new spinning reel earlier today and my third cast caused a birds nest kind of mid-rod as well as around the spool area, not sure what went wrong, but it was bad enough and frustrating enough that I just switched to my baitcaster the rest of the day. Such is life :) I’ll snip off my lure later on and try to untangle it all. Most likely the line was wrapped around my spool before I cast and I just didn’t notice or something. Such is fishing
After watching this video I purchased the Zebco bullet and also bought a okuma celilo 8’6” rod. I can’t wait to try it out. Soon here in Michigan it will be steelhead fishing season. Thank you posting a video on this setup.
I’m a Zebco Bullet user & love the 20 & 30. My only issue is the 20 locking up & snapping the line launching my lures into outer space. I’ve watched your videos on the Bullet 30 & found the one on your 20 locking up today. Mine has done it 8 to 10 times in 4 fishing trips. Have you continued to have issues with yours, or was it a one time thing? The middle of the spool that pushes out when pressing the button seems to be the culprit, but I don’t know if that’s something that can even be fixed. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I have this exact piece in my tackle bags. I never use it but it was my great grandpas. So now my sons great great grandpas. We just carry it as an homage but until I saw this video I never knew it had a tape in it. 😂 thanks dude.
Mines green though. Your video helped me to check on the tape measuring blade and it was a bit stiff to roll out. I got it out and cleaned off the little bit of surface rust to get the tape working good as new. Without this video I would have never done that. Thanks again!
My carbon x 2 does have a anti reverse. If it's a 2000 or bigger. The 1000 doesn't have one. A lot of manufacturers are doing away with it. I use mine , but I could get used to not using it. By just setting the drag to pull line I guess. Some people do back fish to let line out. I sometimes do trout fishing.
Out of the box none of my penn slammers did this, however after breaking in all of them do it, even the one I bought when the IV first came out. Penn reels are always tight out of the box because they use traditional rubber seals.
I’m pretty serious about my fishing, I use spincast reels when I can because they don’t make knots and I don’t like paying attention to the reel or fixing bs knots
