found this channel after getting a penn fierce iii as a gift and wanted to learn more and I just wanted to say I love this kind of content and it's amazing, great work and all the best !!!
thanks for the breakdown. I'm looking at the bullet, and based on your MG review, I plan on sticking with the original. I see the original was also updated for 2022 and I'm curious if it also made any of the changes seen in the MG, or if it addressed the plastic button issues.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm definitely curious to see what the recently updated originals contain within them. I hope they didn't go plastic. Haha I can only buy so many reels without my wife getting on my case...You could pop the front cover off the reel if you're buying from a store and see whether the carrier assembly is metal or plastic. The safe bet is just getting the one with the red lettering on the front cover and ordering a back-up thumb stop from a spare parts website. If the MG doesn't have an updated thumb stop, I doubt the new originals do. If you do end up getting an updated original I'd love to know if they made any big changes. Take care.
I was gonna add a couple mgs to my arsenal,,, because the bullets are heavy, but after seeing your reviews, I think I will take the old bullets over them....I only use them for bass and larger species...love my zo2 and zo3 for trout..etc...
I think the old bullets are more robust. A very interesting reel I'm currently reviewing is the Profishiency Sniper Spincast...It's what the Bullet should be in my opinion. If Zebco copied this reel and made it truly All-metal, it would be the ultimate spincast. Very innovative and exciting...
my new bullet showed up with a bad drag system, loosen all the way still barely pull line, I got to pay shipping to get it fixed, poor service in my opinion
The old bullets are way better. I was excited for the mg. Now that I've taken it out it'll be used here and there rather take the original or an omega out. I was very disappointed
