It`s pretty common theme in Ukraine and post-Soviet countries. A lot of mystical shit are always on TV. There are some channels that even specializing on this theme, like RENTV. People of Soviet Union are pretty spiritual and mystical, but cause of all that atheist propaganda a lot of people, especially old people are very easy to deceive and they believe in every bullshit TV says. Church is also very popular now, but believe in some shit like this is also very strong. A lot of people just selling all that mystical shit like this. All beliefs of old people in all that bullshit TV saying is one of main reasons of that war. Don`t trust in all that story or all other stories like this, especially if they are for Ukraine or Russia or any other post--soviet country.
So… Why does nobody talks about a huge ethical issue? Will they just buy a living body at Walmart? Or will they just get the body of a “cheap executed Chinese criminal”?
I absolutely lost it at 16:17 for some reason; "Gloopy Glue.... And that's his technique... But to just say you're goin' to wack it on and stick the spinal cord...", I'm crying. 😂
I have been absolute binge watching doctor mike lately and that gave me an idea. I would literally pay for a video series where you cover extreme medical cases or conditions or situations and have someone like chubbyemu or doctor mike with you. I feel like you and Mike would riff off eachother like crazy
Don't forget the British rock band, Status Quo, who early on in their career released an album called "Dog Of Two Heads". And.....why no early mention of Cerberus??
From just looking at the veins on my arms, I would expect the nerves of EVERYONE to be wired in slightly different ways. So if your spinal cord works like a bundle of wires, which would make perfect sense to me as a programmer, there would be a very real risk (around 99,9%), that simply attaching body_A to head_B would result in nerves being connected in the wrong way. You wouldn't want to move your hand, to instead move your legs around, would you?
The Ediie IZZARD CLIP "CAKE OR DEATH" SENT ME BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD! I had an audio recording of that entire special on a CD and would listen to it in my walkman... I feel old saying that, but I'm not as old as the crowd that I believe watches this channel... Idk. Now I'm curious.
Minus the whole sci fi stuff the real problem I see is supplying blood to the head while simultaneously attaching those blood vessels to another body. That would take more time than even a cold brain could survive, one would think.
Recently there were news about an eye transplant. It worked perfectly, except the eye doesn't see anything. If we can't get an eye to work, what should we expect from a head transplant? Even if it's done perfectly, which part won't work?
We just briefly discussed Galvani and the frog leg experiment a couple weeks ago in my Physics class. This is an interesting addition to my knowledge. Also, my anatomy professor, who was probably 65 or so, said that they used to do dog experiments as recently as his medical school experience, which was in the 70s. They did these things a lot to learn about how things worked anatomically; it was apparently considered normal at the time? I would’ve thought that sort of thing would’ve been long gone by then, but he told some stories that made it sound absolutely barbaric. Hard to listen to 😢
Fascinating stuff and a great job on the video. You managed to make Dr Frankenstein level science sound as though it could be plausible in the future. In the meantime, l hope to hear that the nano thread thing will be usable to repair spinal cord injuries soon.
If you get upset about the animal experiments (understandably) just remember that their suffering saved countless lives human and so it is unfortunately necessary 😢 even if I hate it
An issue I haven’t heard anyone talk about is that it’s gotta be a lot easier to find people that want a new body than to find people willing to donate their body. You’d have to find people that have just died whilst still having a body that can still be alive?
I'm disappointed in your take on Dr Tour. Respectfully, do a some research on him. He is not anti evolution. His problem is with the original wife community's claims, and he goes in a great detail explaining his problems withthechemistry. His is not a quake, he has a large number of patents under his belt including nanotechnology and flash graphine.
i could be misreading the vibe here, but the long pauses after mentioning that Anastasia Panfilova married Valery Spiridonov..... bro.. Sick people are allowed to be happy? and find love? like I'm so sick of "clearly undateable disabled guy somehow pulls a baddy" being played as a joke. It's dehumanizing to the disabled person AND their partner.
