@@underthemayo and why do you even hate the style points lol? Is a fun way to actually be different, ULTRAKILL wins by being fun, Doom eternal is fun by winning, two whole different ways to be a game, if you cant handle having fun and must dick ride doom's combat systems then dont play ULTRAKILL.
@@underthemayo not only that, style points literally reward you by making you able to face off hard bosses, like Minos Prime and Sisyphus Prime, and as if DOOM eternal doesnt have flaws too, you can literally go and chip away the Icon of Sin using basically just anything, same as how you can chip away the Hideous mass using the piercer revolver
Most of the problems could have been fixed if you got a shortcut door on the beach whenever you reached the final boss. That way, you wouldn't have to go spend 15 minutes just to earn another shot. It would also allow you to fight the boss on a higher difficulty. You could still farm the earlier area if you wanted to level up. Of course, I would have preferred for them to scrap the rougelike idea entirely, but since they went with it, the developers could have least been more considerate of players' time.
you lose that cinematic feel but the control you gain translates more to the actual gameplay. RE2 is a good example of being able to properly make a classic horror game but also make it feel infinitely better to play and a harder game compared to the insanely easy re2 og. I think fixed camera is best used when you arent asking the player to do any combat or very seldom. Your RE1 clip sums it up perfect, you are aiming down a hallway and your bullets just go where they need to because that camera system doesnt really go well with any type of precision shooting and is really only used to make a game like a movie, once that scare is gone and you know the dogs down the hallway it just feels shitty/unintuitive to play. Alan Wake 2 may not be the greatest horror game but the speed of the enemies would be straight up impossible to do on a fixed camera because the player needs to be able to move quick enough to see them so its not annoying. Silent hill camera wasnt as bad as true fixed but to my point silent hill has always had complete ass combat, which isnt the point per say but there is plenty of combat and its bad.
You don't have to have bad combat in a these camera styles. SH2's combat is uniquely bad. SH1's gun firing felt way better. You can have fixed camera targeting systems, you can improve the movement. You're judging this based on the first few years of the genre as if the ability to make combat better in these camera systems is stuck 25 years in the past.
Idk why people care so much that you don’t like Arkham Knight it’s like 9 years old and this is your video you can say whatever you want about the game people don’t know what subjective means I agree that the tank sections suck and I think the Batmobile design is ugly but I also think the gameplay outside of the car is the best it’s been in the series and the DLC content is pretty good but in the end it is the worst game in the series Arkham City Arkham Asylum and Arkham Origins are miles better
Ragnarok was so hyped and praised when it launched on the PS5, but as soon as the PC port dropped, the game suddenly became "Ruined", "Bad" and "Unbearable". Is this another Play Station fanboy's meltdown or something ? All this moaning and bitc*ing is just ridiculous and pathetic at this point. Ragnarok PC port is Great and super optimized, unlike many others & the Team who ported it to PC is AMAZING. When everything around is "Sh*t & Meh" then it is time to get a REHAB from video games...as if some individuals are being tortured into playing video games .
Yoooooo..... Their retconning a story line to fall in place with the first and second movie universe.... So how James's special monsters and special altered reality was suited just for him. Well now it's more the other side from the silent Hill movies pretty lame tourettcon the storyline and still called a remake
So i love ultrakill but i completly ignore the style points why you may ask beacuse i am not focus on p ranking when i am p ranking i focus on style points when i am not i am up close to the enemies just punching spamming m1 and ground slamming i use the sharpshooter to do it and limited ammo sucks for ultrakill that opinion in my opinion sucks
Ammo is just one thing. There's all kinds of way to rebalance. I don't actually think it needs ammo because as I went on to say in the Act 2 section, the game starts to feel really good even without it.
@@underthemayo yeah but try to do like you do with eternal you show diferent techinique to beat enemies faster and to have you dont need to be styling but also not running around with 1 weapon only try diferent ones and do challanges like "oh in this lv i am gonna use 3 weapons" or "oh in this lv i am gonna have the best time possible" or do a p-ranks to unlock even dificult bosses or go to the credits or redo bosses or learning more about the game
@@Unnamed_zardy I do play ultrakill that way. I use different weapons, I play for speed, it's fun. It's a cool game. I just don't go crazy over it. I played it some, and moved on. I'll play it again when act 3 is done.
@@Unnamed_zardy people tend to mistake my criticism of act 1's balance for hate of the whole game. Never said I didn't like it. I said in multiple Ultrakill videos, including this one, that I like it and I'm excited to see where it goes. These videos are more about laughing at the utterly deranged fanbase.
4:55 any game that has a winter setting or is set on Christmas is automatically appealing to me I love games that have settings like that. Except for RE Village.
Other than its glitchy nature, the ease with which you can get through game after you’ve played a few times is my biggest disappointment with Origins. Completing the Dark Knight stuff is the only thing that remains a decent challenge. I think it needed some tougher spots for reasons of replayability. You didn’t make it far enough in Knight to know this, but the Cloudburst tank fight and the final tank battle outside of GCPD are both still a challenge for me. I’ve probably played through Knight 150 times considering I’ve done 240% maybe 75 times or so. I wouldn’t have played that many times if I hadn’t felt that it was still a challenge. As fun as Origins is, and it’s a blast, I don’t see myself playing it anywhere near that many times. Mind you, I think the great voice acting will always be a good reason to give it a play.
I’ve started playing this recently and I find myself really wanting to like it but just have something that irks me that kinda has me like I don’t wanna continue It’s odd I like aspects of it, atmosphere/sound design and I like the graphics and environments But idk I feel pretty half tapped out and just feel I’ll probably need to finish it out of obligation Also I wholeheartedly agree with the map situation
5:51 you props already got hundreds of comments like this, but the target I find seems to appear most commonly when you PERFECTLY time a parry or counter OR when you stagger an enemy in some way (like a shove or a stomp sometimes). That way you still can get a target even on a un-blockable (if you're good you can abuse this on bosses too!). ALSO - it does not matter if the blue or orange orb appears or not, ANY attack can be countered/ perfectly timed dodged to make a target appear. Targets IDK if you noticed, also give you a free armor piece, AND you can still shoot even without ammo. My only complaint is if theres a way to get this more consistently on fodder enemies like in Doom Eternal, shotgun in Doom Eternal would ALWAYS put enemies into a glory kill state, while I find it tricky to reliably get targets on fodders in this game, making it pretty frustrating when you need emergency armor.
You can also get away with using weakest weapon in doom 2016 and eternal aka pistol? What's your point you can beat every game with weakest starter weapons even in the clips you show you are almost dying.
Sadly I had to explain the concept to so many people. This is not about what someone can technically do when they know how to play. You CAN beat resident evil with just the knife. However, if you put resident evil into the hands of someone who's never played it before, on the highest difficulty, and you tell them to only use the knife... They're going to get absolutely destroyed. However, experience resident evil players can totally beat it with the knife because they know the game. That's the difference. Ultrakill's first act is just too poorly balanced, and allows the brand new player to get through huge chunks of it with mindless BS. It's not about the pistol. You could do this with any tactic. It's easy to play it and pass it, having learned nothing. This thankfully changes right at the end, and through Act 2. Also in the cyber grind which is great.
@@underthemayo i disagree with you while the street thugs start out easier the more you play the game the harder they get the game builds on it’s combat so that you can get better and be able to fight a bigger variety of enemies with the other games there isn’t much more they challenge you with. While I love this game City encapsulates Batman and his struggle with the joker so well but this game is also a very good game with a good story this game gives you the Batman experience (I still like city the best knight is a close 2nd)
@@underthemayo dude the only valid criticism was tank combat being a bit boring. Basically every criticism you made is invalid cause the game is a direct upgrade from city. Stop with the goofy ass “shut down” replies, stop making shitty reviews and either get good or get a job.
This is a fair take and close to how I’m going into SH2re. I don’t have too much confidence in the narrative, but on its own, not as a remake, I think it’ll be pretty good.
I’m glad you brought up the similarities between the first game and 2 because I think it’s actually a significant detail a lot of people miss. Silent Hill 2 is a subversion of the status quo set by the first game, and I think that remaking 2 without even rereleasing the first Silent Hill is missing part of what makes the game interesting, at least to me. It’s the same reason why I recommend people play the series in order rather than skipping straight to 2.
Sounds like great picks all around! Haven't checked any of these out (with the exception of Jacob's Ladder of course for sh2) but I'm down to try them out. On a less trippy and weird note for films, I recommend The Frisco Kid for a nice old school comedy film. Harrison Ford and Gene Wilder are a great duo in this and I love the heck out of it. (thanks mom!) Also Weird Science too for a more nonsensical comedy movie.
Going back here and then my glimpse of first time playing 2021, so many things have changed from now. I mean, Not only I miss the Marauder but I hope There will be an even challenging Marauder type Nemesis in Doom Dark Ages which could adapt to us the players. I even remember back then hating the Microwave Beam so much and yet here I am replaying Doom Eternal just to relieve memories and relax on my console It has always been a Lifesaver (But Still I dont fully Love the Plasma Rifle cause it is way too situational Weapon) Somehow I still got an unfinished business with this game... Still havent beaten and nervous going to take on Ultra Nightmare Mode. I always keep replaying this game Via Life Extra Mode On Nightmare somehow yet It still gave me this nervousness and clumsiness upon going to try first attempt Ultra Nightmare.
It’s a sort of karmic justice to see that your bad takes have not improved at all. Keep adding nothing of substance to video game discourse just like you did with Re: Village
Village was the worst game of 2021. That's saying something given that Deathloop came out the same year. But sure, it makes sense that a fan of braindead game like that also loves Arkham knight. ;)
