There are two types of people in this world: the fearful and the bold. With every failure the fearful confirms that they cannot do the job, the bold, on the other hand, are too busy learning how to be successful with every failure. Successful PDR work is based on trial and error. I always encourage people to boldly learn new things, your financial success lies in front of you! You can always find negative people to tear you down; look hard for supportive people who will provide you constructive criticism to accelerate your success.

i just pulled out like 10 little dents from hail damage on my pickup... it looks so much better. I used a hot glue gun and some ramdom items laying around the house like a bottle cap to pull the dents out. Its not something i would do on a luxury car but in my personal opinion its going to be difficult to screw anying up worst with the glue PDR method. Unless the paint comes with it but that shouldnt happen unless the paint is already compromised or its a shit paint job

I think attempting DIY pdr ( with assistaed learning) as a small niche has its place vs proper PDR. I have no problem at paying for my PDR repairs and extremely happy with results from pros and will continue. In some lesser damage situations on with more simple ( round ) repairs I've had success also with basic damage, this is on what people would call "shed car" territory and I did one on a car with a tennis ball sized dent but the car was getting to be worth only a thou ( a 1.9 Tdi vRS). I think in that situation as a noob helps as you mentioned being able to push from behind (with moedaration) rather than pull with glue sticks. A lot of people do inappropriate force, making worse damage perhaps than was there before lol the golf ball effect. I saw the mess brother in law did on a tail gate like that. I won't ever do that. I've been told my wifes car is beyond PDR ( despite cosmetically not really that bad in laymans terms, it just pisses me off that it was 2019 car and cost me a lot to buy it nearly new) but just too many creases and dents overall. A supermarket special. I'm told it would take convential garage time which would probably end up taking even more paint off etc and probably cost me at least a thou. Ain't going to happen. I'm interested to maybe use hers as a long term learning vehicle to try to understand some success in PDR....after all, what is she going to do, likely just add YET another dent at some point, crease or mark in it :D? The only completely undamaged panels so far really are the front wings ( one of those I replaced myself with a pattern part lol ) the bonnet, the roof, and the tailgate. I couldn't possibly make it worse - but also I know my limitations. Whilst I have 2 much much smaller dents on my own expensive personal fast car and super happy to get to my PDR guy to just fix them. I've been trying and trying to book PDR with my preferred guy but difficult to get his valued time but will eventually if I perservere and probably get time off.

Took me 10 hours total. I was hired to do the bodywork and paint and decided to try pdr for the "first time." Used 2x4s to pull dents before. Bought a 200 dollar Amazon kit and had to modify the tab puller with some billet additions on my bridgeport because you get what you pay for, lol. Last note, I've been polishing stainless trim and doing paint work for half my life. I'm a newbie, but really not. Just another skill to master I look at it as.
