My goal is to share videos of Zentangle art and patterns that are easy for beginners to follow. I don't rush and I never speed up the videos. This channel is meant to be helpful and fun for both beginners and experienced Zentangle artists. As explained by the founders, "The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns." In these uncertain times, I find Zentangle to be very calming.
My channel name "Not Perfect Zen" is from these reminders: - This is NOT a contest. - No one is PERFECT - Enjoy the ZEN, one line at a time.

@@notperfectzen I did have fun and it turned out great, I ended up with the string backwards to yours but made it work. I also decided to try your.....what if....I inked in the lines between Finery....it looks great that way too. You are a great inspiration and I love your channel, again...thank you!
Thank you so much! That makes me very happy because that’s exactly what I hope for with each video. 🥰 I appreciate your comment, and you’re so welcome! ❤️❤️
Great combination of patterns! I like the way these work together on one tile and also for being introduced to some more new-to-me tangles. Once again-a very relaxing time learning from you. I look forward to each video as you near the finish line! I'm now caught up with all 30 videos and look forward to celebrating having examples of all 102 attempted and labelled tangles in my sketch book!!
This is great. I am recently into Talavera pottery and the pattern on the wall of the Mexican restaurant looks like it. And now we have a Zentangle design by you. I am eager to try this one and color it.
I've been trying to grow succulents and just this week purchased a pot made in Mexico. I don't know if it's Talavera, but it's very pretty. I hope you enjoy drawing this tile - it is definitely a Mexican influence. 🥰❤
Hi Barbara, I am a subscriber but some of your older videos pop up for me to view and I just love them. You and Kelli are my main Zentangle teachers. Thank you so much for doing these videos. When I want to treat myself, I sit down and do a tangle. Using a gray tile then adding white looks so nice. I love it.
Thank you very much, Marilyn, and you're so welcome! ❤❤ I'm also surprised by some of my older videos that I forget about. I'm glad that you enjoy them. Gray tiles are so pretty! Thank you again for your support and your comments. I really appreciate it. 🥰
Thanks for this Barbara. Mine look a bit like bananas. LOL I plan to color them with colored pencil. Maybe that will help them look like flowers. I will make them lavender. Oh, I have a heat laminator machine and laminate my book marks. I love that machine and it was not expensive, from Amazon. The tortion Ha, about it coming across as tortilla. I love it.
LOL! It took some practice for mine to look right. Good idea to paint them lavender instead of yellow! 😁 I don’t do a lot of bookmarks but if I do more I’ll consider a laminator. Thanks for watching my video! 🥰❤️
I'm always interested in organization videos, Barbara. This is a good idea. I realized that the coin collector sleeves look exactly like the old slide sleeves. I used to have an old ungainly stack of those. I may still have them somewhere. Right now I've got all my tangles with stepouts in my Zen Tag Book, which is made up of 2x4-inch tags I can find here commercially at the scrapbook store and Joann's and Michaels. I do keep stepouts on the complicated ones. I've got one ring of Borders and Grids and another of Floral and Leaf patterns.
Yes I had so many slides! The 2x4” tags are also a great idea. My notebooks with the coin collector sleeves are getting big but I’m still adding patterns. 😊
Welcome back to Zentangle. 🥰 I have a playlist called “Easy Classic Zentangle Tiles” that has videos that are easy to follow. Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll be happy to help.
So glad to hear your wonderful news! Enjoyed your celebration tile and love your Shamrukas pattern - it's looks really pretty - thank you for sharing with us.
WOW...cancer free...that is the best news!!! Happy Birthday to you!!! Congrats on making it into the book, that's wonderful! Love your tangle, thanks for sharing!
