This looks badass tbh, I wonder if you could use the h2a elite biped from multiplayer and replace it in this and then use the halo 3 armor so that they won’t be abnormally tall. Idk if that’d work but maybe since it’s also made in the halo 4 engine
In terms of a gamemode, I'm not sure of the map layout, but if there are three little villages, you could a hill marker in each, and the player has to prevent the Covenant from taking the hills. Alternative, you could have a destructable object you need to protect in each village instead of a hill. Keeps you always on the move, trying to balance your defence of each.
the different shaders and lighting weirdness really underscores to me how much of a direct extension 3 is from 2... never would've thought it was just the warmer tone of the olive drab and the better lighting that had been throwing me off!
This would have been awesome for character development, and works as Cortana DID choose Noble 6, so that works in this cutscene. This also would show character development for 6, as it was Thel's fleet that attacked Reach after Jorge's sacrifice, so 6 would have to forgive him for the loss of his team, to ultimately work together to finally defeat the Covenant.
Interesting. You might face arguments regarding Cortana's choice as the trilogy at the time followed the novels with Cortana choosing John. The Game reach decided to screw with that original canon
@@LockeLynx Technically, Microsoft ordered Eric Nylund to write the comics, Bungie had nothing to do with that (same story with Halo wars, still a great game) and wanted to tell their own story for Reach. The devs said they respected the comics but that their canon was seperate, as they had no tell in the other projects Microsoft ordered (although they did mention other Spartans in Halsey's Journal, but Bungie was leaving anyway). One proof of the comics not being in the devs canon, is all the promotional material in the original trilogy that called Master Chief "The Last Spartan". This is because Bungie made numerous references to the Bible in OG trilogy. Jesus was called "The first and the last", Master Chief was the first Spartan II chosen by Halsey, and also the last remaining. He is also the first and last to operate the Halo array, I believe Halo follower and Hiddenxperiea have videos explaining more of this.
holy shit i didn’t expect to see progress when i looked it up again, btw how come the lighting in the suit looks like that? i think in one of the other videos it looked better, the visor too, is it because you updated the textures?
If they remastered halo 3 I really hope they don’t just reuse the halo 2 anniversary marines. They look good but they don’t look like halo 3 marines. I hope they make their own unique models.
I know it’s kinda stupid but you managed to bring this old odst to tears..it’s no small feat, and I truly appreciate all the hard work this took (ffs it looks like you took the old rigging for the models and used them to your advantage it’s impressive to say the least) Thank You my friend.
PLEASES RELEASE THIS I NEEEED IT!!!! IT LOOKS SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD! the only time ive EVER said that about halo 4. or any 343 halo game lmao. this mod is gonna be so fun!!
Can do alot more things with H4 scripting, they allow objects to have their own scripts which lets u do some cool stuff. But if u mean the language, they got the original language but also a new syntax. So you can write map scripts in either and if u compile it'll work
Have you thought about giving villagers the ability to build defenses and supply you with ammo? Or golems aiding in attack the covenant with you/if villagers were harmed?
Not sure about villagers having abilities, but yea golems being on your side and attacking covenant would be good. I just setup the biped for each to just walk and jump not properly interact like AI yet
@@SpacedZed I can dig it, nice! Thanks for the insight into what you got happenin behind the scenes. I wonder if it would be easier to have the wave system count how many villagers are still alive and not killed by covenant, and reward the player with added block fortifications, weaponry or a change in scenery deoending on the total still alive?
I'm crying and screaming and doing laps around the room right now. This is beyond cool. One question though. What's stopping someone from creating a campaign level sized version of this? Like the one "creeper mine" Borderlands 2 easter egg years ago.
