Wow wow wow! This is so enlightening! I’ve struggled with negative self talk for ever, like since I was very young and now that I understand where this comes from I feel so much more equipped to battle this DMN. It’s rude and needs to take a hike!
Once, in High School, my friends wrote and I illustrated a children’s book for Technology Student Association. And for over 3 weeks I stayed up till 1:00/3:00 AM and woke up at 6:00 AM for a 7 hour school day, just to keep illustrating afterwards. We lost the competition and it was so painful.
So i have thought about self talk quite a bit. what it is. what role it can play. how each type of talk applies to my life and each other kind. I noticed the tendency to discredit negative self talk, and I think thats a flaw. Negative self talk has a place, and you shouldnt gaslight yourself into thinking its not there for a reason-- You shouldnt work eliminate it. what you should do is reframe it. practice self talk. practice perspective. When you have negative self talk and notice it, after you say something to yourself, rephrase it 2 times in a more positive and palatable way. eventually you will begin to adopt the new language into your negative self talk. so you can see wisdom rather than offense. That way your ego isnt constantly taking a hit. The fact we have negative self talk is an adaptive mechanism. HOW we learned to self talk is a result of our environment long before we became self aware adults
ive seen multiple studies stating that women ruminate far more than men. to the point of borderline asserting that women ruminate and men dont. Me with adhd over here being like hmmm guess im a woman
It brings receipts. A nice catalog of every thing you've ever done that supports the case in which it is prosecuting you. I'm glad I saw this one. One after another of these videos brings up something that resonates 100% with me, but this one ... over the past 6 years, it has taken over my life. I thought it was introspection. I thought I was improving myself by recognizing my failures.
Thank you! I stopped this video about 2 minutes in, did 3-4 smallish tasks I was postponing, and finished the video with a cup of tea and chocolate biscuits. Now off to the gym. Success!
Wow! First - please tell your Aunt how much I appreciate her interview! 2nd - your Aunt could be ME! I've been diagnosed and I'm accepting to my ADHD, but everything she said, is as if I were sitting there talking to you. Almost verbatim! She's such a delight!
This is wonderful. Thank you for this insight. I struggle with this myself. One thing that I know has helped me 'snap out' of the 'dark place' is laughter. (Edit: also cute fluffy things)
Got diagnosed at 24, bought my first house at 25, adhd got progressively harder to handle living alone, one of the first things I did to help was remove the mini built in wardrobe doors so that I could see the hangers and clothes as soon as I wake up, made a huge difference to keeping my bedroom tidy
So i started watching this out of interest, and at 6:00 i have to take a break and go do somethign else because i'm aboutt o start bawling my eyes out. Every. Damn. Single. Minute.
Hey I'm new to the channel and I've watched a couple of your vids. I love your vids and find them very helpful but I have had a question. I think I have ADHD and I wanna ask my parents to get checked out but I'm scared. How should I do that?
Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!
Yes, dr.porass. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.
Yes more meme reactions. You're so rignt. I watched your first stage performace. I cried when you did. To me, you're like the friend I want and never had! Thank you, your partner and your team or your videos. Am currently maybe going through lovebomb stage but as I've only just at 44 self-diagnosed and found your channel, youll understand my appreciation for your channel, and the benefits i get from watching them
