In fear of the heavens, particularly torwards the end of the track, I can really hear Final Fantasy IX. Makes sense seeing as it's supposed to be the swansong/LoveLetter to the classic Squaresoft RPG
I agree, honestly a proper remake could make it a big hit in the current gaming landscape, especially if it rides the coat tails of the FFR trilogy. Thanks for checking out the vid!
I had a copy of this game that never loaded after the first boss battle. Tried at least a dozen times and I would always get a black screen on my PS2, that’s my only memory of this game 😂 Prob gonna show my age even more, but I remember this copy was from a friend and it released while I just finished summer school in order to graduate high school lol
Dang, yeah I had never heard of it till probably 6-7 years ago. Had a PS2 but never knew it was a thing. Don’t worry about age I am damn near over the hill myself. Thanks for checking out the vid!
Yeah that is kinda what I was hoping/thinking. It could use a fresh coat of paint and a good way to keep the momentum going. Thanks for checking out the vid!
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah it is weird how Sony could just print money if they would put all these games on through ps+ or something. I wonder if it has something to do with its ability for emulation? Thanks for checking out the video!
Great Video!! Honestly i don't really enjoy DoC storywise. I've never been able to play it until now, but i was aware of it's story. Although i think that Crisis Core didn't have the greatest story of all time, i tend to like and dislike that story overtime. But DoC... it's truly awful. Althought i really like Vincent, i feel the way they aproach his relationship with Lucrecia is...akward and a bit dumb, and honestly, it makes Vincent a bit of a meek cuckold. Also i think they really missed the point of the stories after the OG FF7. Everything is SO EPIC when it really shouldn't be. I think that a grounded story, a bit like Metal Gear Solid, would fit Vincent really well, even though i think it's stupid that shinra has 2 thousand secrets organizations, i think that would work better than this Omega Weapon stuff.
Hahaha you got me at "meek cuckold" I didn't find it completely unplayable but definitely convoluted. Thanks for checking out the video and for the kind words!
Minor remake/rebirth spoikers here.. Post remake... some of the convolution makes sense. The mass disapoearances before Deepground escaped, the howling around the Shinra building... formation of the whispers and a task they perform in Remake. Mentions of various events, then being told about it as if something different happened in a way that doesnt make sense... (some are just revelations of secrets, buy ine mentioning thr platefall and death toll changes drastically and between OG where the deathtoll is massive accirding to the novel The Kids Are Alright, to minor according to Remake). Past got changed. Vincent notices these things but as his hair moves with slight wind, he forgets/never questions aloud. (Whispers do this to Cloud after Cloud sees himself in a tube in a deep ground lab under sector 7, he looks at a cat whose esr flicks as a very subtle split second breeze passed by, suddenly everything about it was forgotten). Post rebirth it ought to make more sense. Especially if you have seen FF The Spirits Within... Omega takes lifestream energy from a dying planet and forcefully puts it into another rock, rebirthing the planet. Jenova has its own lifestream; it rode something to get here, and it is trying to force itself into the planet. Basically every entry has Jenova doing something tied to propagating itself into the planet. The alien lifestream "alien gaia" of Spirits Within is unable to die, unable to live, etc., until either its lifestream is extinguished or it consumes the Earth's gaia/lifestream. In rebirth's ending, take note of the lifestreams in the sky. The other world, void of mako and substance, hollow and ethereal, is represented by a black lifestream when Cloud looks up at it. Likely not coincidence.
Yeah Intergrade can definitely help with patching up some of the information for sure. I haven't touched Rebirth yet as I plan on doing that somewhere down the line as I continue this series but look forward to more of those tie ins. Thanks for checking out the video!
Weren't Nero and Weiss mentioned or shown in FF7 Remake Intergrade? I think I remember seeing them and being extremely confused about who they were and where they came from. Thanks for another great review!
Yeah they were! Since I went right in to FFVIIR after VII for this series, I was totally confused also. It didn't make any sense to me either. Thanks for the kind words!
@@tmo42i Yeah, I didn't know anything about DoC during my FFVIIRI playthrough so I was in the same boat not knowing what the hell was happening. To be fair, I still don't know hahaha
DoC was the first game I played in the world of VII and I loved it, sure I played VII but always in bits and never finished it. It was after Advent Children my appreciation for VII started to grow. So everything VII I played was out of order. Sure hope for a remake, because I don’t have the original anymore and would like to replay it at some point
Post remake, Dirge's story may make more sense than pre-remake. A 3 minute cutscene with Reeve is dedicated to introducing the whispers from the perspective of a man who can't see them...and spoils remake's ending scene of the Shinra building surrounded by whispers. There's also times when you are told of past events... but then someone else tells you about the same events except they changed.. you can see Vincent pick up on the confusion better than your own confusion, but his hair moves slightly and any questions are just...gone. Kinda like if the wind just passed him by...inside a vehicle. Whispers are perceived as wind if they can't be heard or seen by the target of a whispers intervention.
great selection of songs, but unfortunately many songs are overdone with compression (or something like this), i have to lower the volume a lot in these songs or my ear gets hurt. i 've tested in 2 different audio setups and headphones and the sound have something non-natural, something annoying to my ears and my wife's. it's something in the mid-bass frequencies. the punchiness is overdone.
Yes, you are absolutely right, when I clipped them all together in my DAW I had to do some makeup gain as all the tracks weren’t normalized for volume and when I listened back to it all I didn’t listen to the whole thing (as I should have). It is very apparent on the seiken densetsu tracks specifically, I now know a better way to do it but by the time I figured this out I didn’t have all the tracks to fix it. Thank you very much for the feedback and checking it out though!
That's from Section Z, it is a sidescroller schmup similar to Burai Fighter. Thanks for checking out the vid!

1:02:29 man Rambo. I remember playing it aty cousins house when I was like 6 years old. The nes era was a crazy time. So many games to explore. So many games to buy or rent. What a wild time.
I love Rambo on the NES, such a good game, only downside is it can be confusing with directions, but other than that, so fun. Also the OST is great, especially that main traversal theme. Thanks for checking out the vid!

@@Dancarnate directions definitely unclear. Took me awhile to figure out how to get around past the first area. Lol Love the vid, use it as bedtime music for me and my kids.
It felt like gaming was completely new and fresh and just for us. Other people weren't interested or thought it was lame. Gaming genuinely wasn't popular and for a lot of us it was a huge escape. Did that escape serve us in the end? Some yes some no I think.
Cloud, Cid, & Vincent has always been my party until my most recent playthrough, I used Yuffie instead of Cid. Can't wait to run the 3 of em in the remake trilogy!
Yes! That was always my favorite group but my most recent I used Yuffie cause Remake with Intergrade made me actually love her character. Thank you so much for checking out the vid!
Hahaha, thank you, I appreciate it! Yeah I take a track from every review I do and remix it. I have an album out called Final Dantasy on spotify, apple, bandcamp, etc if you wanted to check out previous ones. Thanks for checking out the vid!
X is one of my favorites as well, the story albeit a little convoluted at times for sure but still a great game. I especially love the CTB battle system they had, one of my favorite turn based rpg battle systems ever. Thanks for checking out the vid!
Emerald Weapon's really nasty attacks are counters to your own moves. Slap a Cover, a couple HP Plus and a bunch of Counters on Cloud and call it a day. (May require hours upon hours of grinding sources in the Gelnika 😆)
Hahaha right?! Always cracked me up, like just wearing a different shirt or having hair up/down instantly changes the perception that much. Thanks for checking out the video!
Thank you for checking out the video, has been quite a bit since our last review, but after throwing my back out and PC dying I decided to get an editor to help make these possible. Going forward all Patreon proceeds go to my editor so if you want to help support the channel that is a really good way, but just watching the video, commenting and sharing is equally as good.
How is this not on video game music playlists? Also, not to be greedy but more, please. Ideally, an ff one or just tracks that are all beautiful and calming, not crazy hype mode. Dark screen, beautiful rpg jams. Sweet, sweet dreams. I listen to the snes one all the time.
So I'm blind apparently but yes, actually also coincidentally. I was wrong on both counts and am not off to listen to that sweet rpg darks screen. Thank you.
Well worth the buy. Nostalgic, with enough new to keep you involved, and stories that not only follow all the characters, but combine all the original ff games into the same universe. Great idea.
Wow, I know I struggled with that achievement from Gremlins 2 but I never thought it would pick the number 1 spot. Achievents I hate are speedruns like completing the entire DKC game in 1,5 hours or so.
Yeah at that time that was the toughest one that I had completed. For me the speedrunning ones were fairly easy as being a speedrunner, I know how to practice/execute those much better than someone who perhaps never speedran anything. I think what made the Gremlins 2 one difficult is how easy it is to fall in any pits in the game. Luckily the game isn't long and can be beaten in less than 10 minutes consistently for me, but accidently falling in to a pit was definitely a thing to watch out for. Thanks for checking out the video and happy hunting!
now at 59€ on Steam...big sale !! keep up the good reviews man btw !! Even the 20% long Humble&Bundle membership can't bring oneself to that pricepoint. :) Big kisses from France :3
@@thepaper888 I do plan on making some more, the next one I had on my list was probably just relaxing Final Fantasy music. It is always a little tough cause I don't want YT to mute parts of it and everything due to copyright so it takes a bit.
I understand and appreciate your efforts. I just hope it's chill chill, haha. Some people have it chill, then out of nowhere, some crazy rock guitar, then back to kind of chill.
