Anarchy is not Democracy, it's society that doesn't have any government or hierarchical structures (no police, no state, no institutions, no justice system, no prisons) it depends on people organizing themselves in small communities with no central figure/institution as leader. Those communities would have rules, but no authority to enforce those rules. Anarchists believe that humans are inherently good but change because of the environment, so they want utopian society that would have no need for things like punishment or detterence. They want no borders or nation-states, believe there are no ethnicities or races. Usually they also want global communism that would free the workers from whole world, distribute wealth, and communalise properties, but without state to control those things.
Sorry but that "hard vs soft Communism" is such a useless garbage term lmao, it literally doesn't refer to anyone, not Anarchists, not real Communists, nobody. It's far more useful to just use Lenin's definition of Socialism
Have you ever studied Maoism? you seen to have reached the same conclusions as modern day maoists the main diference would be decentralization. I would love to hear your opinions on maoist theory
I was an Anarchist once. My only education was RU-vid videos like this, very short blog posts, and occasionally even some podcasts. Then, I grew up and actually started reading books by political figures, started studying political history, along with interpretations of it. I am no longer an Anarchist. It would do this guy some good to actually attempt to develop a historical understanding, such as what Anarchists were doing in Russia and Germany around the early 20th and late 19th century, *then* reading works by Lenin and Engels. Since he clearly hasn't done that, so much of what he's saying is frankly just useless
Lets be real, anarchism is a fools ideology as the many will always conquer the few. If anarchism worked, the world would not be ruled by varying degrees of authoritarian systems.
In such a system in which everyone is equal no matter what, what’s the incentive for anyone to pursue a highly specialized career like a heart surgeon or brain surgeon?
I kinda agree but I think some form of commodity money like gold would emerge in the kind of mutual aid/contract exchange economy anarcho communists propose. People could just make contract deals for some valued good like gold or PS4s as a store of value and then trade them with others for other goods. Unless you're going to make it a universal law that once a community exchanges for something you MUST consume it yourself. Although I personally agree our current inflation based, loaned into existence, supported by thin air federal reserve monopoly money is a scam.
This entire idea is based on unanimous support for the ideology and s death to individual choice to act independently of the collective. What happens if someone doesnt want to share the fruits of their labor in an ancom society?
Its all well and good in theory, but the mind of debt slaves have been molded for millenia. To the point that people wont let go of their chains. They dont even think they are in chains, and in fact feel one with them; leading to the feeling of personal attack if one tries to remove said chains. The whole system is a giant slight of hand anyway. People are under a spell. The only reason Hitler was able to make such immediate and vast changes to the German economy was because Germany was absolutely devestated by WWI, and the country was in a horrible depression. Sadly, the only way i see humanity escaping debt slavery is a devestating event.
I thought decentralization was when you abolish everything and then when there's nothing left to abolish you abolish abolition and then you can finally be free.
Here's a neat idea - what if money just...expired? That's a overly-simplistic idea that may be easy to poke holes in, but as a starting point? Maybe...? That would still allow a medium for indirect trade, that cannot be hoarded. A temporary measure until we (finally) live in a truly moneyless world? <prescient note: 'moneyless' is not considered a valid word by spell checkers...)
I'm weirdly cursed with seeing webs of inefficiencies in everything around me... the outrageously interconnected wastefulness of humanity is maddening, there are more than enough resources for everyone when 90% of those resources aren't spent propping up the ridiculous hierarchies that keep capitalists in power. Efficiency, IMO, is morality. Capitalists are only 'efficient' from their own myopic viewpoint that can''t extend beyond a dollar sign. Utopian dreams... <subscribes>
I believe in a fundamental human nature I just think it's too complicated for any one ideology to completely sum up, we have in us a touch of Rousseau's noble savage, a touch of Hobbs' brutal savage, a touch of Adam Smith's rational actor and a touch of Locke's blank slate.
1:34 I thought poop girl actually didn't poop herself. I'm pretty sure that is promoting a false narrative. Other than that, the video seems decently objective, compared to other YTers.
The Celt/Viking dreadlocks thing is a myth, real historical records show no recorded case of Germanic tribes wearing dreadlocks, they would prominently display the "reverse mullet" or long hair, but the closest to any actual recorded European dreadlocks being worn was the Poles who would grow a long shaft of hair on the back of their head. However, these were not dreadlocks since they did not naturally form in their hair and were a product of many substances being used to clump the hair together. I don't have an issue with other ethnicities wearing dreads but its the literal definition of cultural appropriation to say that European countries had already created dreadlocks, especially when dreadlocks literally cannot form in straight hair naturally without specific tampering/matlocking.
Was it really a "Great Debate" about organising? Platformism was basically laughed out of the room, thankfully. Almost all anarchists adopted the synthesis position, rejecting the platform as a Bolshevist deviation: as it was. Platformism (and especifismo) really only started to exist as a remotely relevant force in modern times, even though that "relevance" has been restricted to covering up rapists and splitting and undermining other anarchist groups, I guess.
No matter what kind of system we invent to solve the problems, untill human nature is evil, humans will bring injustice, and tyranny to any kind of new invented system including anarchism.anarchism will work only when all people in community are on same level of evolved consciousness and mindset.
What if we all could start living like native american indians, austalian aboriginals etc.? Before the arrival of europeans they were living in harmony with nature without money, government, democratic system etc.
Wait, but what if the state will be run using bizzarre and complicated democratic system like liquid democracy or it will be authoritarian but run by AI so that human factor is almost excluded.
What would the solution be to jobs that became stigmatised for one reason or another? Capitalism's solution is to pay those workers a pittance, reinforce the stigma and immiserate their lives from maturity to the grave. Everybody knows that, but what would the anarchist solution be?
It is part of human nature, though. Have you ever been with kids? They're like the purest of desires that have very minimally been affected by society's expectation, and responsibilities. Greed is something we just naturally have, just like we also naturally have self-control. From common sense pov, behaviors common in toddlers and kids... are just very likely part of a human nature.
yeah..too much focus on what we dislike and not enough on building an alternative...drop the whining, grab the tools..turns out no one is stopping us but ourselves...LET'S GO!!! "rebel. fight back. CREATE. MAINTAIN."
Anthropologist (people who study the development of human societies and cultures) ideas of human behavior overlap heavily with the core assumptions that anarchists make. Horizontal organizations are more efficient than vertical ones.
As an indie game developer this is REALLY funny to me. 99% of indie games are made to make profit, and working for free is just an investment that we make. Also, this is an extremely FUN and REWARDING job that cannot be compared to jobs like a McDonalds worker or a toilet cleaner...
Honestly I am so sick of countries getting rid of failed economic systems for better ones. Well, we're the only one still relying on a broken evil system meant to just exploit and make everything worse in the long run. That doesn't innovate or make anything better the long run. You don't even need capitalism to make stuff. Happened and all the good stuff that we have today wasn't even thanks to capitalism. The more people realize this and protest against it, the more we can fight for a better economic system that truly supports freedom and Equality for every class Because seriously, capitalism does not make any of those things happen. It's no better than communism and any other failed economic system And i'm so sick of idiots thinking that it's better when in reality it's just another broken system made by disgusting evil people.
Cool community fridge for real that’s cool, but your political views have so many holes and will never work because of human beings. It’s a mixed bag some are good some are evil some are indifferent and some are useful and some are useless, there is no political structure that will work with the human condition, anything that will have the illusion of working will have the public or veiled master/ruler class.
